OG Dragonball is my personal favorite. I loved seeing the tournaments and the growth of Goku’s and Krillin’s friendship while training under Master Roshi.
Same. Toriyama builds a very fun and interesting world that leads to fun adventuring in OG. Z and Super is fun but it loses that adventuring charm I miss.

To be fair, the manga version of Super is absolutely fire. Moro arc is great, Black Arc is great, and the Battle of Gods arc is way better written than in the anime. The only thing it really did worse was the Tournament of power, though that was more of a pacing issue.
DBS just looks better. OG dragonball was slow and had the worst dialogue continuity out of any show I have ever watched. It’s absolutely a good watch, it’s absolutely fun and I am glad I did watch it, but DBS is better hands down

Definitely!!! Super sayin 2 gohan was a beast. The first time seeing legendary super sayin in namek was also fucken bad ass. The fights in namek with vegeta against frezas squad (dodoria and Darvon)
My favourite moment is z is the timw when goku gets emotionally defeated from learning that he killed his grandpa, and even resigns to saying hes gonna die, but then regains his determination to keep fighting. We rarely see goku truly challenged to the core of his being like this, and many other characters wouldve given up on the point in that position

Dragon Ball GT is honestly a little underrated and over-hated. I don’t know why people dislike it so much. I don’t disagree with the ranking, but it shouldn’t be regarded as trash
I tried watching dragon ball GT, and maybe it's just how I felt since day 1, but after actually watching it, it felt so much worse. There's episodes that genuinely feel like a waste of time and should've been cut or changed, and maybe I'm in the minority, I think a lot of concepts, like the black star dragon balls, the shadow dragons and omega shenron as a concept just don't work. Why the hell would the dragon balls turn evil from being used for their one purpose for existing? That's like your toilet getting mad at you for shitting in it.

Which isn't a terrible concept to give the magical miguffin a consequence. They even explain it that it's because the search for the dragon balls was supposed to take much much longer but because of Bulma they could be tracked down and gathered in an afternoon thanks to Goku and the rest being able to get around so quickly.
If anything GT is vastly overrated by a lot of people today who only see clips and debate power levels but never actually had to sit and watch that awful slop. I'll also go on the record of saying the vast majority of the designs were an eyesore, including SSJ4 which people only got nostalgic over because GT rightfully got mostly ignored by Toei for decades. Terribly boring fights too, which is probably it's biggest sin because even after waiting through all the uninteresting dialogue and jokes that fall completely flat you're rewarded with absolutely nothing of note.

OG dragon ball is really an anime which was soo focus in plot (more like one piece or naruto), Db super feels like its just an excuse to see cool fights and transformations. Actually OG dragon ball was more of an adventure type anime, in Z is where it start to be a "fighting" anime.

I didn’t know this but I guess in the manga, goten never hugged Goku in their first encounter like they did in the anime. The way she broke down how it builds up to it is so much better. Goku being a kid in DB is not a problem in the slightest, unlike GT it makes complete sense as we see him grow up, instead of being randomly reverted for nostolga and cutness appeal (same reason it took Goten and Trunks so long to grow)

Dbz is the most iconic Dragonball series there is. Being first doesn't make it better. Db should've been second place though no idea how super beat it out.
OG is my favorite by far, it's the most grounded. By the time you get to Z people are getting resurrected left and right. Super is just silly. Frezza has killed half the cast and most of the Sayans, STILL Goku makes a deal to resurrect him over letting Yamcha join to the ToP ?!
He really put Dragon Ball super above Dragon Ball like the regression of the main character the series power scaling and wasn't a glaring issue in Dragon Ball super 😅
I will agree that the one thing that kills it for me about DBS is the regression of so many character’s arcs. Goku being dumb Vegeta trying to one up goku even after admitting goku was the best in the buu arc.
I honestly think OG should be above Super. DBS is kind of lacking in things that the OG had. 98% of Super are just senseless battles. When Goku sees someone who SEEMS strong, he wants to get into a scrap with them in less than a minute. OG actually has moments, or even whole episodes that gives you a breather from the fighting. You got stuff like comedy and romance. Super does have comedy, but it’s complete ass.
The Goku Black arc, despite being one of the more well-received arcs, was kinda trash, too. It just felt like an excuse to reintroduce Trunks and a few old moves from OG DB for the sake of fan service. Nothing was learned and nothing resulted from that fight. The only thing we got from it was that GoDs are linked to Supreme Kais. And that's it.
Also in OG dragonball everyone else was younger since it was the first introduction for most of the characters that we see grow up so goku fit in perfectly
The original Dragon Ball was where Akira Toriyama started his story for the DragonBall universe. Dragon Ball GT was not done by Akira Toriyama himself, and was not based on any actual manga series. That's the true difference. 💁🏿♂️
Akira Toriyama was involved in the creation of DBGT, he supported Toei Animation in which direction DBGT should go, he also helped with the drawings and designed the GT logo himself. DBGT is a side story because it doesn't appear in the manga, DB Daima won't appear in the manga either. DBGT is still the official sequel to DBZ in the anime. Side story and non-canon are 2 different things, side story just means that it took place outside of the main story, it is still an official story that belongs to Dragon Ball. In the Dragon Ball Daima teaser trailer where all the Dragon Ball saga were shown, DBGT was also shown because DBGT is the official sequel in the anime.
4 = Dragonball Heroes - it was fun to see SSJB and SSJ4 interact (though I would've liked to have seen more of a reaction from "super" Goku seeing SSJ4 for the first time), and Zamasu's new design was pretty cool, but the length of the episodes was a turn off for me. 3 = Dragonball Super - I didn't like that we had to go through two arcs, that had already been movies beforehand, just to get to new content. The later arcs were a mixed bag; universe 6 arc was pretty mid (it did introduce us to Vados and Champa though, who I honestly like better than Whis and Beerus), I didn't like the Goku Black arc that much (I did like SSJR though) and the tournament of power was pretty awesome (it had some of the franchises hypest moments; the other universes reactions to Goku's SSJB form, Goku's first fight with Jiren, ultra instinct, Goku and Frieza vs Jiren, etc). Music was pretty awesome too. 2 = Dragonball GT - in my opinion, this series had the best music in the franchise (and of course, I'm taking about the Japanese soundtrack). It also had the best villain in the franchise (that being Baby). Another good thing is that it's a pretty short series, which makes it the easiest one to get through (this is good because I'm the type of person who has difficulty finishing a series that goes on for too long). Also has the best super saiyan transformation: SSJ4. 1 = Dragonball Z - the Raditz arc to the Great Saiyaman arc is great, I have no real problems with most of Z. The problems come from the Buu Arc; SSJ3 comes out of nowhere, Goku and Vegeta's second fight is tedious, Majin Buu isn't an interesting villain (his powers are pretty cool though), Babadi isn't an interesting villain (he didn't even need to exist. Dabura could've filled in Babadi's role by himself), Gohan gaining the ultimate form was pretty pointless overall, etc. The music was pretty good in this series. I haven't seen all of OG Dragonball yet, but from what I have seen, it's quickly becoming my favourite. This is probably due to its more adventure style of storytelling.
When super was dropping tournament of power episodes it was so good, we used to at my old fast food job watch the releases on the work computer buddy would roll up a blunt for us smoke a little bit make some food and have like all 3 of us sat down watching that shit and talking about it the rest of the shift. Me being fresh out of highschool, one being a job hopper, and the other being ex-con going straight for a better life. Didn’t matter the walk of life that shit was bringing us together and it’s crazy to think about lol good times man.

I loved Dragonball but Z was it for me. I wanted to be a fighter, had my mind made up. Signed up for Karate and realized that wasnt gonna do it. I was recommended boxing and fell in love with that as I figured that was more for me. Boxed for 9 years and loved every minute. Still enjoy watching and training.
Wow... many bad takes here. The only time goku was truly reverted into a child was in dbs, where goku actually became a child mentally. GT goku was far more intelligent and mature his character wasnt intentionally regressed his story ended with him as an adult having ascended into godhood before the stupid gods of destruction were ever even thought up of.

He had a good motivation, good and cool abilities and showed his development from someone who hated the saiyans and wanted to take revenge on them because he thought the saiyans were beast and detsoryed a world that wasn't theres to baby becoming what he hated. That's because "The Baby Saga" was the only good and enjoyable Story Arc that redeemed about GT, so everything else after it has gone Downhill from there to the "Super 17 Saga" (worst Story Arc of all Time) and the "Black Dragons Saga" (while slightly better than the last one, but is still severely Flawed because most of it was completely Rushed).
No one denys Baby is pretty cool, the problem is that he is the ONLY good GT character. The shadow dragons were lame, Super 17 was lame, Rildo and Para para brothers were lame, etc.
I think Heroes and GT are about neck and neck sometimes. While Heroes story is..... unbearably complicated alot of the times, it did provide some cool fan fic moments. Cumber, Goku Vs Bardock, Golden Cooler, Goku Super vs Goku Xeno, Gogeta Blue and Ssj4 Gogeta team up, bringing Tuffles back, Ssj3 Rose Goku Black, Cumber vs Broly, Generational Kamehameha, etc.
The sad part about heroes is it has the coolest stuff we’ve ever seen in dragon ball history yet there locked within heroes, they won’t crossover with other game like xenoverse which really should share continuity bc they have the same characters and time patrollers, and it’s adapts more stuff from the manga which we don’t see in the other anime so yeah cool content lacklustre promotional anime

I grew up watching the OG Dragon Ball first and after that came DBZ, but in my opinion DBZ will always be the best and most hype of all the series(I'm talking about Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Super...I don't consider Heroes or GT to be a part of Dragon Ball universe because they weren't created by Akira Toriyama...I watched them and I didn't like either but I would actually prefer Heroes above GT hahah GT was just trash...) We will see how Daima will go...it looks great in the first 2 episodes...
OG we get to see Goku grow from a kid into an adult and the concept of ultra instinct was established in og DB when Goku was still a little kid, yea it was goofy at times but the fighting choreography is better than super
Heroes if given the usual 20 minute episode duration could be on par with Super heck maybe even DBZ we could get some iconic moments like MUI first debut and SSJ2 Gohan debut but they were restricted to a shorter episode duration which is sad because Prison Planet and the Space Time Tournament would of been fire if given enough time to tell a story and build up
People loves to hate over GT just because Goku was a kid. It was a very good opportunity to get back that adventure they move apart since DBZ. Now with Daima it is ironic that they're loving the concept that everyone hated back then.
For me it's 1: Dragon ball Z 2: Dragon Ball 3: Dragon ball super 4: Dragon ball Daima 5: Dragon ball GT (I don't really know about heroes so i didn't put it in, i put Daima because i haven't really watched it but it seems cool)
The only people who seem to like Super above DB are westerners who only grew up with DBZ and never watched the glorious matches between Goku and Tien, Jackie Chun, King Piccolo, Red Ribbon Army, the emotional reunion with Grandpa Gohan (even Super paid homage to that fight at Baba's Palace), Dragon Balls meaning something (Goku destroyed an entire evil army just to bring back Upa's father to lifr), etc. Like, the series isn't all about transformations and American style buff action heroes. It bothers me that many Americans ripped on Daima before it even airs even though it's set to have some of the most involvement and celebration of its roots from Toriyama and many legendary animators ever. That adventurous, comedic, and action oriented series that started it all is at the very least deserving of second place because at least it had consistent animation and a lot more interesting filler too.
While everyone was grilling the choice to put Super over OG, I had noticed the absence of Z Ki, who is technically it’s own series, also Super is the best DragonBall show that I’ve watched, fight me!

Personally, Dragon Ball Z is my favorite because I feel like those were some of the most peak moments, especially on namek even if I had to wait 26 episodes

My favourite moment is z is the timw when goku gets emotionally defeated from learning that he killed his grandpa, and even resigns to saying hes gonna die, but then regains his determination to keep fighting. We rarely see goku truly challenged to the core of his being like this, and many other characters wouldve given up on the point in that position
Eh. OG is better. And the first Super Saiyan transformation against Frieza was also a better moment... But then again I always preferred Goku over Gohan.

I tried watching dragon ball GT, and maybe it's just how I felt since day 1, but after actually watching it, it felt so much worse. There's episodes that genuinely feel like a waste of time and should've been cut or changed, and maybe I'm in the minority, I think a lot of concepts, like the black star dragon balls, the shadow dragons and omega shenron as a concept just don't work. Why the hell would the dragon balls turn evil from being used for their one purpose for existing? That's like your toilet getting mad at you for shitting in it.

Which isn't a terrible concept to give the magical miguffin a consequence. They even explain it that it's because the search for the dragon balls was supposed to take much much longer but because of Bulma they could be tracked down and gathered in an afternoon thanks to Goku and the rest being able to get around so quickly.
If anything GT is vastly overrated by a lot of people today who only see clips and debate power levels but never actually had to sit and watch that awful slop. I'll also go on the record of saying the vast majority of the designs were an eyesore, including SSJ4 which people only got nostalgic over because GT rightfully got mostly ignored by Toei for decades. Terribly boring fights too, which is probably it's biggest sin because even after waiting through all the uninteresting dialogue and jokes that fall completely flat you're rewarded with absolutely nothing of note.

Dbz is the most iconic Dragonball series there is. Being first doesn't make it better. Db should've been second place though no idea how super beat it out.
OG is my favorite by far, it's the most grounded. By the time you get to Z people are getting resurrected left and right.

I honestly think OG should be above Super. DBS is kind of lacking in things that the OG had. 98% of Super are just senseless battles. When Goku sees someone who SEEMS strong, he wants to get into a scrap with them in less than a minute. OG actually has moments, or even whole episodes that gives you a breather from the fighting. You got stuff like comedy and romance. Super does have comedy, but it’s complete ass.

The Goku Black arc, despite being one of the more well-received arcs, was kinda trash, too. It just felt like an excuse to reintroduce Trunks and a few old moves from OG DB for the sake of fan service.
Nothing was learned and nothing resulted from that fight. The only thing we got from it was that GoDs are linked to Supreme Kais. And that's it.

The original Dragon Ball was where Akira Toriyama started his story for the DragonBall universe. Dragon Ball GT was not done by Akira Toriyama himself, and was not based on any actual manga series. That's the true difference. 💁🏿♂️

Akira Toriyama was involved in the creation of DBGT, he supported Toei Animation in which direction DBGT should go, he also helped with the drawings and designed the GT logo himself. DBGT is a side story because it doesn't appear in the manga, DB Daima won't appear in the manga either. DBGT is still the official sequel to DBZ in the anime. Side story and non-canon are 2 different things, side story just means that it took place outside of the main story, it is still an official story that belongs to Dragon Ball. In the Dragon Ball Daima teaser trailer where all the Dragon Ball saga were shown, DBGT was also shown because DBGT is the official sequel in the anime.

4 = Dragonball Heroes - it was fun to see SSJB and SSJ4 interact (though I would've liked to have seen more of a reaction from "super" Goku seeing SSJ4 for the first time), and Zamasu's new design was pretty cool, but the length of the episodes was a turn off for me.
3 = Dragonball Super - I didn't like that we had to go through two arcs, that had already been movies beforehand, just to get to new content. The later arcs were a mixed bag; universe 6 arc was pretty mid (it did introduce us to Vados and Champa though, who I honestly like better than Whis and Beerus), I didn't like the Goku Black arc that much (I did like SSJR though) and the tournament of power was pretty awesome (it had some of the franchises hypest moments; the other universes reactions to Goku's SSJB form, Goku's first fight with Jiren, ultra instinct, Goku and Frieza vs Jiren, etc). Music was pretty awesome too.
2 = Dragonball GT - in my opinion, this series had the best music in the franchise (and of course, I'm taking about the Japanese soundtrack). It also had the best villain in the franchise (that being Baby). Another good thing is that it's a pretty short series, which makes it the easiest one to get through (this is good because I'm the type of person who has difficulty finishing a series that goes on for too long). Also has the best super saiyan transformation: SSJ4.
1 = Dragonball Z - the Raditz arc to the Great Saiyaman arc is great, I have no real problems with most of Z. The problems come from the Buu Arc; SSJ3 comes out of nowhere, Goku and Vegeta's second fight is tedious, Majin Buu isn't an interesting villain (his powers are pretty cool though), Babadi isn't an interesting villain (he didn't even need to exist. Dabura could've filled in Babadi's role by himself), Gohan gaining the ultimate form was pretty pointless overall, etc. The music was pretty good in this series.
I haven't seen all of OG Dragonball yet, but from what I have seen, it's quickly becoming my favourite. This is probably due to its more adventure style of storytelling.

When super was dropping tournament of power episodes it was so good, we used to at my old fast food job watch the releases on the work computer buddy would roll up a blunt for us smoke a little bit make some food and have like all 3 of us sat down watching that shit and talking about it the rest of the shift. Me being fresh out of highschool, one being a job hopper, and the other being ex-con going straight for a better life. Didn’t matter the walk of life that shit was bringing us together and it’s crazy to think about lol good times man.

I loved Dragonball but Z was it for me. I wanted to be a fighter, had my mind made up. Signed up for Karate and realized that wasnt gonna do it. I was recommended boxing and fell in love with that as I figured that was more for me. Boxed for 9 years and loved every minute. Still enjoy watching and training.

That's because "The Baby Saga" was the only good and enjoyable Story Arc that redeemed about GT, so everything else after it has gone Downhill from there to the "Super 17 Saga" (worst Story Arc of all Time) and the "Black Dragons Saga" (while slightly better than the last one, but is still severely Flawed because most of it was completely Rushed).
No one denys Baby is pretty cool, the problem is that he is the ONLY good GT character. The shadow dragons were lame, Super 17 was lame, Rildo and Para para brothers were lame, etc.

@@Elmatabuelas4000 DBZ is literally the best and will forever be at 1st place hahahaha even in 100 years...if you have to ask you haven't watched Dragon Ball at all..or you literally started watching Dragon Ball Super before anything else I mean I don't know how to explain such a dumb question really...Dragon Ball is better than Dragon Ball super because of the animation and story...Dragon Ball has better animation in most cases than Super that was made 20+ years later because they were saving budget as it seems hahahahaha I mean the whole story of DBZ is what made Dragon Ball famous across the globe in the first place...Super Sayan...SSJ 2 than SSJ3...Fusion...I mean Goku grew up at the end of Dragon Ball, but we actually learn about him that he is a Sayan in DBZ and I could go all day why DBZ is in my opinion and in probably 90% of the Dragon Ball communities opinion in the 1st place...OG Dragon Ball would be 2nd and after that Super...and I actually love Super and Ultra instinct, Blue form and so on...I like Beerus and the angels and everything...but the story isn't even as nearly as good or hype as DBZ...if you ever watched Dragon Ball than after that Dragon Ball Z and after that Dragon Ball Super I don't think I would ever have to explain to you why DBZ will always be the most iconic and best Dragon Ball series ever...Dragon Ball Super would only be the best of them to a kid that doesn't know what he's watching...and you probably are just a dumb kid that is asking dumb questions and will get than rude answers...I mean never heard anyone ever say that Dragon Ball Super is above Dragon Ball Z (had to literally write the whole name so you don't forget the name of the best DB series hahahaha). I grew up watching the OG Dragon Ball first and after that came DBZ, but in my opinion DBZ will always be the best and most hype of all the series(I'm talking about Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Super...I don't consider Heroes or GT to be a part of Dragon Ball universe because they weren't created by Akira Toriyama...I watched them and I didn't like either but I would actually prefer Heroes above GT hahah GT was just trash...)

OG we get to see Goku grow from a kid into an adult and the concept of ultra instinct was established in og DB when Goku was still a little kid, yea it was goofy at times but the fighting choreography is better than super

Heroes if given the usual 20 minute episode duration could be on par with Super heck maybe even DBZ we could get some iconic moments like MUI first debut and SSJ2 Gohan debut but they were restricted to a shorter episode duration which is sad because Prison Planet and the Space Time Tournament would of been fire if given enough time to tell a story and build up
People loves to hate over GT just because Goku was a kid. It was a very good opportunity to get back that adventure they move apart since DBZ. Now with Daima it is ironic that they're loving the concept that everyone hated back then.

The only people who seem to like Super above DB are westerners who only grew up with DBZ and never watched the glorious matches between Goku and Tien, Jackie Chun, King Piccolo, Red Ribbon Army, the emotional reunion with Grandpa Gohan (even Super paid homage to that fight at Baba's Palace), Dragon Balls meaning something (Goku destroyed an entire evil army just to bring back Upa's father to lifr), etc. Like, the series isn't all about transformations and American style buff action heroes. It bothers me that many Americans ripped on Daima before it even airs even though it's set to have some of the most involvement and celebration of its roots from Toriyama and many legendary animators ever. That adventurous, comedic, and action oriented series that started it all is at the very least deserving of second place because at least it had consistent animation and a lot more interesting filler too.
