- Files created January 26, 2011. Charlton Heston heads the all-star cast of Cecil B. DeMille's highly acclaimed 1956 epic, previously filmed in 1923. He plays Moses, an adopted Egyptian prince who became the deliverer of his true brethren, the Hebrews, who were slaves to the Pharoah; therefore, he led the Exodus to Mount Sinai, where he received the titular commandments from God.

My #1 favorite movie of all time. I've seen it so many times that I can quote the lines and worn out 3 sets of VHS tapes and 2 sets of DVDs. Why? IT GIVE ME HOPE!
I count my slaves by chains, not by swords.
5:02 And now, Mr. Cecil B. DeMille.
Overture and intermission ent'acte and exit music by Elmer Bernstein from the ten commandments
My favorite movie also
Great opening about The Ten Commandments (1956). I have the Asian DVD Copy of this movie. My copy is only one disc with the whole movie.
What? 3 hours, 51 minutes (nearly 4 hours) on 1 disc? Crazy, yet interesting at the same time.
This to me is ABSOLUTE tradition.
Told by Cecil B de Mille
I have the 1991 35th Anniversary VHS release of this movie.
I remaber seeing this a few times grwing up and it was graet its seend on abc druing ester
One time I watched it on ABC on Demand before we got rid of cable, it's been split into two parts, and I examined the runtime on both parts, and put them altogether. This film is usually 3 hours and 51 minutes. (including Overture, Intermission, Ent'racte, Exit Music and everything else that made this a "roadshow" movie.) They've edited 21 minutes out of this film, Including Cecil B. DeMille's introduction, to run in the time allotted. ABC's runtime of the film is 3 hours and 30 minutes. (4 hours, 45 minutes if you include commercial breaks.) This is why I currently own a double feature DVD of this film and 1959's Ben-Hur.
Elmer Bernstein Isolated Score Overture
Vincent Price as "Idiot".
@RBN's REAL Disney Movie DVD & Blu-ray Videos 2000 "Baka" means "idiot" in Japanese.
Goddamn it! 🤣🤣🤣
Not necessarily a good idea to make fun of movie stars, even those who died, but that gag in the comment section was funny.
