Speaking of clean, my neighbor was invaded by outside contractors (from power dudes, roofers, this and that)...talking to this roofing company they noticed a Jackson cardboard box, Marshall 4x12 and two iso cabs and we started talking music. They are part of a large (band members) and a couple of the guys want to do a side project but don't know how to start. They want to rock. What I love about these guys is, we both agree their Latin music attracts a million sexy women that love to dance and thankfully the goal is to rock but keep a large female audience. That's what sucks about a lot of Chug music...well back in the day. A sausage festival. So this will be interesting. They hired me to coach em to be edgy rockers but marketing to women
I'm so glad I played it through an amp; as initially I just played it through an IR pedal and wasn't immediately stoked. Playing it through a real amp and a 2x12 I too was happily blown away. That's interesting that you compare it to a Randall Satan- but yeah that would make sense. And that noise gate is effective enough to not need an additional one. Thanks as always
My opinion is that it will not sound as good through an traditional IR cause those are made to work with complete amp (pre and poweramp). This is just a preamp so it will lack somekin of poweramp simulation. They are mentioning we have custom IR made for this pedal free for download somewhere.

@@JMK-kb1yq If your IR pedal takes 3rd party IR's, you can upload it on your pedal. Other than that, you need a computer interface, daw and IR loading program such as NadIR
Glad u mentioned build in noise gates! I love the idea of them but my experience with built in ones are usually underwhelming. u say this is the best one so far & for the price makes me very tempted
The noise gate works as well as any high-end noise gate that will cost you $300+ to own. Literally, the best built-in noise gate in a pedal! Like you, I feel that other pedals with gates usually design the pedal concept then add a gate for the heck of it. To make it appealing but this gate is GREAT! Finally, it's honestly done right!

The Dirty Tree is literally the best boost out there that everyone should own. The Solar CHUG is a preamp pedal, so it's like having all the options that are found on any amplifier. All you have to do is plug this pedal into a standalone poweramp, like I did with the 50 watt KSR PA50 or run it through the effects loop of your favorite tube amplifier and use the CHUG's features. You can also run this out to a Mooer Radar or Two Notes CABM and out to your studio monitors or to headphones and play silently at home. :)

The question, Louis! I bought this pedal here's my situation. I have two guitars one BC Rich in Eb (Nazguls) and one Strandberg in Drop C (Fishman moderns) the pedal runs on both guitars with the same IR and the settings are unchanged. But I tried my Strandberg with Fishmans first and to be honest it sounded like complete ASS!!!! needs a boost. BUT my Eb-tuned guitar with Nazguls running the same settings has the best sound I've ever heard on guitar! Super confused!!!

Hey Marcin! The Chug doesn't do that distinct Bolt Thrower tone that great, not like the GX700 but if you want a modern brutal tone that rivals $3,000 amplifiers, this $200 pedal is tree best!

Stefan, it's crazy to think that I compare all preamp pedals to the KSR Ceres and Victory Kraken and this pedal has raised the bar! The Ceres and Kraken are brutal! This one just has a little extra that everyone will love and for $200, I don't think any company would be able to touch its price point. The built-in gate, as a standalone, would be a $300 noise gate.
@@louistorres the pedal definitely deserves it's name! I've only briefly tried mine this afternoon, but initial impressions are very positive. One pedal that has really stood out on your channel to me is the Diezel Herbert and the Solar Chug just might kill my gas for the Herbert😂

They're both very different to one another, the way a Bogner is different than a Soldano. Both can chug just as hard as the other with the CHUG having a really great internal noise gate.
To be honest, if the Satan sounded like this, I wouldn't have sold my Satan 120. The Satan was all hype, it was shocking. Great amp but many others are infinitely better and cheaper!

Really debating getting one of these to pair with my HX stomp since I am getting tired of hitting DSP limits every now and then (I use it as my amps mainly, and clean and high gain tone in a single preset can be a struggle). This video is definitely bringing me closer to investing in a CHUG of my own. It sounds really good!
I tried the Ceres and Kraken V4. I still come back to my Tight Metal. My original version, not the new one. I even preferred the Empress Heavy and Sinvertek. I’d love to see a side by side with a Tight Metal.

Should I knock one off the list to give ola’s pedal a go?
No effects loop. I'm running guitar into the CHUG and out to the KSR PA50 poweramp with 6L6 tubes. You can easily run guitar into the CHUG thru the effects loop of your amp to bypass your amplifier's built-in preamp. Lots of guys do that if they don't have a separate poweramp.
I hava an advice for your videos. Your intro might be too long, almost a minute. A 10 second intro might be better for viewer experience. Just my opinion
Thanks for the advice but to be honest, I don't listen to anyone who isn't a UA-camr with at least 7,500 subscribers. I've gotten more advice from dudes who have no idea about this game that it's hilarious!! Everyone has an opinion on how I should do things but I usually suggest that everyone start their own channel and teach me how it's all done the correct way. Until then, maybe upload one video or two, I have nearly 800. I'll wait for you to catchup.

I am not sure the CHUG is an "overdrive" pedal. It's more of a preamp distortion pedal. If you want something in front of the 6505+, then you need an SD-1 or a Tubescreamer thing.

Yeah, active pickups have a way of butchering tones sometimes, it's weird but I've had similar issues with my Fishmans too. :')

Don't bother with the Empress and Tight Metal Pro. If you have the Kraken, try the KSR Ceres and the Solar CHUG pedals instead.

Can you put the chug in front of a peavey 6505 plus? What does that sound like?
