My van is stripped and ready to build. I've noticed how much louder it is when there's no carpet and insulation. I like loud. I'm straight piping the van today haha
Nice comparison. Worthwhile to those who are planning their conversions. A decibel reading would have been even better! In my T6, when I fully stripped it I could hardly carry on a conversation. Now fully sound deadened and thermally insulated, with furniture, it’s extremely quiet and comfortable.
Cheers Cameron, yes a decibel meter reading would be cool, but can certainly tell the difference just from the camera mic (and when in the van). And you're right, it makes a big difference having furniture etc too, 😎
Just completed soundproofing and insulating my T6 Kombi. Thanks for all the tips to get through this. I can’t face carpeting just yet as I have to make new panels. Quieter van and well worth all the skinned knuckles, ceased knees, cut forehead and a sore back.
Hey, did you ever lift the suspension on your transporter - was looking to put BFGs on 17” rims on my t6.1 - but yours looked really tight on stock suspension- did you ever get any rubbing issues?
Wow, that difference in noise was impressive. Nice one.
I know mate pretty impressive cheers!😎
Spent about the same and the difference is immense.. Upgraded the door speakers and the sound deadening really makes a difference 👍
What speakers did you put in
Excellent, thanks for the before and after test.

Hi no I never lifted mine. No rubbing issues it was a t32 4-motion if that helps thanks
