Hands down the BEST ACCEPTANCE SPEECH for BEST ACTRESS EVER… humbleness, classy, warm, darkly humorous and so funny, touching and emotionally genuine. Olivia Colman is a CLASS ACT! says this not happening again… and has now her 2d Best Actress Oscar nomination with high chance of WINNING AGAIN! Who can’t love her enough??? Who gets a 2d STANDING OVATION after wrapping a speech like that! WOW!!!!
The bit about her working as a cleaner, a job she loved, was the best part of the speech. It shows that often the most humble and wholesome ppl are those that have actually lived life to its fullest... the good, the bad and indifferent as opposed to a life of privilege and ego.
100%! She once said how she and her husband when they first got married and didn't have any money, found some coins under the sofa in the house they were renting, bought some potatoes with it, and shared a meal. Her genuine sincerity is beautiful!

it's the openness to the absolute overwhelming experience of anything that makes a great actress. Free enough to go with what she feels in the moment, trained enough to trust that it's AOK.
Olivia Colman’s reaction was just so genuine. She really didn’t expect that whatsoever. I first noticed her in Doctor Who and then Broadchurch and now she’s being recognised as the talent she really is. She seems like such a warm and caring person. Overall a lovely person.
My heart was broken when Glenn Close lost the Oscar once again, but I can not deny that the best of this year was Olivia Colman, one of the most deserved awards of the night.
She didn't lose it, she just didn't win it. It feels like there's a difference somehow. But aside from that: everyone LOVES Olivia - she is very, very easy to love. xxx I think Glenn should've won the Oscar for Albert Nobbs.
@@selesnyaconclave1850 Academy voters always goes for flashier roles no doubt they didn't understand the Subtility of Glenn's performance.. What a shame

No... It is because people from the US (not "Americans", because America is a whole continent, from Canada to Argentina) think the whole World revolves around them
You're right, it's the theatre background. Most actors who start out in movies & TV are just trying to be rich & famous, whereas the ones who go through theatre are the ones who genuinely love to act. Think of the most humble American actors (Philip Seymour Hoffman, Meryl Streep, Viola Davis, Willem Dafoe, etc) They all got their start in theatre.
I come back to watch this classic Oscar speech all the time and one of the most beautiful things about it for me is 4:17 where it feels like the shock has worn off and she's finally able to just be excited! That noise she makes sounds like a little kid on Christmas.
The humility and the complete normality of Olivia is incredibly sobering. She's a totally normal celebrity who has no airs or graces, even on the biggest night in film history.
@@CountryCowboy008 no. not at all. she literally said “this is not how i wanted it to be and i think you’re amazing.” she called Glenn her “idol.” it wasn’t just classy, it was kind and endearing and humble. she acknowledged that Glenn deserved to win (Olivia deserved it just as much, but she’s humble enough that she actually wanted Glenn to win). there’s no “wound.” everyone knows awards are subjective, and Glenn herself absolutely hates campaigning because she does not care about them. as you can see in this clip. that’s part of the reason why she’s never won. she does not campaign like other actors do. you’re suggesting that Olivia intentionally rubbed her win in Glenn’s face. nothing could be further from the truth. it’s absurd to think that. i truly cannot fathom how anyone could watch this speech and come away with that impression.

Emma Stone should get an Oscar for Best Supporting Friend
Keep dreaming 🙄
Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz should have won the Oscar for best supporting actress, I don't know how they gave it to another.
Omg that was the first thing I thought 🤣🤣😭😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Both emma & rachel were surprisingly good in it!!!
she already has one for best actress right ?
For someone who is such a force on screen she’s also equally adorable. And freaking love her performance in Fleabag.
""Is that fur?" "Yes, but it's ok because it had a stroke"
She was so amazing in fleabag omh
I love her in Fleabag! Her character was so bitchy in a passive aggressive sort of way lol.
Oh I love her range. See her in Broadchurch: serious detective and loving mother. See her in Fleabag: absolute demon from the depths of contemporary art. See her in the Favorite: broken queen grieveing the death of her children and exploring her sexuality.
And on top of all that, she has the sheer AUDACITY to be a purely authentic, genuinely endearing human being.
@@ninapilgrim I’ve seen everything but Broadchurch. The performances were great in the favorite but bloody hell was the directing very pretentious (I have a pointless cinema degree and tend to enjoy the slightly pretentious films).

Love Emma Stone. She's more emotional here than during her own victory.
Shes a great actress too. Absolutely nailed her performance in La La Land
Because Olivia's performance in The Favourite was out of this world. I actually had a lot of goosebumps watching her acting there. It was so good.

I think Emma has build a close bond to all the actors and crew she has worked for over the years. I remember her being emotional when Viola Davis won her Oscar for Fences.

Standing ovation at last because this was one of the best and funniest speeches of all time at Oscars. She is a gem of a person.

She has 3 Golden Globes, has never lost one.

Apparently, she might get in again NEXT year for a film called "The Father" which premiered at Sundance where she plays Anthony Hopkins's daughter (I think).

Olivia The Oreo shocker lol
"Thank you so much...Fox...everybody everybody. The cast, the crew. Francis, Sam. Thank you. Thank you so much. LADY GAGA!" The randomness of mentioning and pointing at Francis and Sam as if they were her co-stars and the reason she won the whole thing had me ON THE FLOOR!
And also she got double standing ovation...at the beginning and ending of her acceptance
Who's Francis and sam

Olivia Colman’s reaction was just so genuine. She really didn’t expect that whatsoever. I first noticed her in Doctor Who and then Broadchurch and now she’s being recognised as the talent she really is. She seems like such a warm and caring person. Overall a lovely person.

This is the most genuine Oscar speech I've ever seen.
My heart was broken when Glenn Close lost the Oscar once again, but I can not deny that the best of this year was Olivia Colman, one of the most deserved awards of the night.
She didn't lose it, she just didn't win it. It feels like there's a difference somehow. But aside from that: everyone LOVES Olivia - she is very, very easy to love. xxx
I think Glenn should've won the Oscar for Albert Nobbs.
@@selesnyaconclave1850 Academy voters always goes for flashier roles no doubt they didn't understand the Subtility of Glenn's performance.. What a shame
Mmmm choices
Lady Gaga was my choice but olivia was second. ‘The wife’ was a terrible film. If Glenn had won, it would have been like Leo where he won for a terrible movie but they just felt bad for him.
@@Nazaba09 Both Glenn Close and Amy Adams will probably end up winning for an unworthy film in a lighter year, just like Leo, it's more of a life achievement Oscar. British actors always seem to be more humble and down to earth than American ones. Maybe it's the theater background.

Seriously! She is universally loved now.
True
The shout-out to Glenn Close was seriously classy. Well done, Olivia.
And lets face it, how could you not give her a shout out, Glenn is one of the greatest ever.
Classy? It’s more like rubbing salt to the wound 🙄
And for three minutes she pulled at our heartstrings ❤❤❤❤❤

This is probably the most relatable speech in the history of the Oscars. It's as messy and heartfelt and genuine as it gets. And her performance in the movie was indeed stellar. I wish her the best.

I meant that any Academy member who voted for her based on Broadchurch, or Fleabag, for that matter, in which she is splendid.......We all know that The Academy often does these sorts of things, but--blahhhh. I think OC was a fine choice, I just personally believe that GC gave the best performance in the category. “They just don’t like her. They really don’t like her.”
