You are right 🙂 But what I will definitely do - tell the Ladies about covers, if I have the opportunity. Yes, it is immodest, but that's not the case when I should remain humble 🙂
When seriously : Inspiration, idea and be ready to spend a lot of time recording and deleting parts finding the best one. Vocal part is 100% original, but I use more vibrato, some slides. Second vocal : I try to add it, if it is really important and I'm able to catch it (the program I use doesn't allow to divide vocal parts). Always play guitar solo. Sometimes it is impossible to play everything, so I adapt it. As for rhythm guitar - I add it, but not every time. Bass and drums : I mix them or record 2 parts, play all the bass solo and try to imitate drums (it is the most difficult one, cause I'm not a drummer and the part itself is usually complicated) And I started to add more voices to make it more melodical and to create a feeling of cello ensemble/orchestra.
