This deck should be called 'balrog', cause the dwarves dug too deep
Hahahah agree
Seth: *plays teferi*
Opponent: *plays teferi*
Seth: opponent's teferi is obnoxious
I'm sure your teferi is as sweet as daisies, Seth
There’s nothing quite like hearing Seth say about some jank brew: “Maybe this deck is actually good!”
Seth: Today we are playing Creative *Mining* iiiin *Modern*
*Corbin Hosler wants to know your location*
Plz no sue.
Is it just me or does this deck have like 20 flex slots
It does seem like there are a lot of different possibilities. Outside of the manabase and Polymorph/Indomitable Creativity you can do a lot of different things with the deck.
You don't need to mine in creative mode.
Lol

At 18:18 you asked if there was anything you could do. Why not bolt their Teferi to 2 fetch a dwarven mines and polymorph for emrakul? Like sure you get punished if they have another teferi or felidar but it isn’t going to get any better. It gives them exactly 1 turn to answer an on board emrakul. Seems pretty good to me
Emrakul has Annihilator 6
After the first Felidar Guardian died, he had the Mana to drop emrakul and the enemy only had 6 permanents, meaning they could not protect teferi
Always thought it was a bunny in the art for polymorph
right. isn't it? I don't know now
It's either Kezzerdrix or Vizzerdrix
Some sort of Drix
I thought it was a bunny too!
You can also use Creativity on artifacts, so a spell like Pirate's pillage works.
Against copy cat game one you could have bolted the tef to put it at two then it can't bounce.
Austin Murphy Teferi can bounce even at two it’s a -2 ability
@@ryker416 No it's a -3 ability
that's a very good point
This, I was basically telling that
This may be the best thumbnail ever! Cudos to whomever made it
At 3:20, you described this deck as a "budget brew." Four Emrakuls, four Teferis, and eleven fetchlands is most assuredly _NOT_ budget.
He said "Much Abrew", which is the title of the series
Much Abrew (the series name), not "budget brew".
37:15
You understand that silence on your turn protects the combo from being bolted, right?
Yeah, but we were two lands away and I don't think we'd survive that long :(
Thanks for mixing it up
I love Pioneer
And Modern!
Hoping to see some budget modern decks revisited/revitalized thanks to some of the newer sets
Or some upgrades to older decks soon.
Please!?
Aw man, this brings me back... One of my earliest gimmick deck was UR counter/burn with Proteus Staff and Darksteel Colossus...
Seth, at 25:20 and in similar situations, wait for the opponent to get the Felidar trigger and choose to target Saheeli *before* you Bolt Saheeli. By preemptively Bolting, you let them flicker something else for potential value (it didn't matter here, but might in the future, and it's useful to learn those ways to play tighter). You should respond to the copy-activation when you have removal for the flickerer, but to the reset-trigger when you have removal for the copier.
@6:30 The line got missed. You ticked up Tef3ri so you could cast Farseek in the end step. You could then draw into polymorph or creativity for the win.
Finally got my indomitable creativity deck and I didn't even have to vote for it!
Timely Reinforcements seems like a sweet sideboard card
Yeah! That does seem good.
Yay! Modern is back! Fun times🙂 Nothing like a turn three emrakul🥊
Finally some modern content!
I probably want 4 veil of summer main deck instead of silence though. At least, you can just cantip the veil. Prevent the thoughtseize is a very big deal. Also, veil can protect your emrakul from getting teferi bound. Veil of summer is just too op lol
Wouldn't Teferi be sacc'ed to Annihilator? Then, you're good unless Teferi #2? Am I missing something?
It seemed like you brought in Breach and more Emrakuls every game. Maybe you should just play Breach and Emrakul in the main?
I would love to see some swan song in this deck. Your opponent accepting a 2/2 flyer to block emrakul improves their chance of winning by like 1%. In a pinch, it gives you poly fodder 5 through 8.
"Put in the reps with this deck." Pfft, I've been taking Polymorph to FNM and Grand Prixs since 2016 and y'all said it would never make it. But I knew. Also yeah this deck isn't terribly optimized I agree
I was just imagining serum visions sculpting the hand
i like this deck, although I wonder if the through the breach should be main decked with the polymorph combo. fun deck Seth, thank you!
Yeah, I was wondering about that too. It seems like we brought in Breach every time we had the chance, might just be worth adding to the main deck.
(Kiln Fiend in Mono-red) "That is a card we can actually remand with a somewhat straight face." :D
I wish you played the version with more bombs and token producing planeswalkers
That sounds sweet! Do you have a list?
@@MTGGoldfish ua-cam.com/video/4DoC1HVqpz0/v-deo.html
I would probably replace the bolts and abrades with draw+filtering effects (Serum Visions/Opt/Sleight of Hand) and switch up the manabase to have 13-14 potential blue sources on turn 1. Yeah, it is tough to do with the mountain requirement of dwarven mine, but it seems far better than 8 pieces of extremely limited removal that seem better out of the sideboard.
More flitering could be helpful for sure. It felt like four Bolts and four Abrades were a lot of the main deck. Another option would be adding some Paths for some less limited removal.
28:00 that's clearly a rabbit lol!
What is best in life? To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and find new ways to cheat an Emrakul into play.
Probably new ways to cheat Emrakul into play (and then having Emrakul crush your enemies for you).
"This is our budget brew"
I don't think 850$ is very budget but I guess it is for modern
Thoughts on adding Raise the Alarm or Timely Reinforcements to the sideboard for some of those aggro matchups?
i was hoping for this one
So in the game against UW control would it have been better to bolt Teferi to 2 then make an emrakul? Force opponent to have second Teferi or lose?
any spell that bounces teferi also get's the job done (or bounces felidar to bounce teferi for that matter)
Rob r I agree with Michael. I think you take the opportunity when you can put their teferi to 2. You might not get a chance like that again and it probably isn’t getting any better since there is no way to remove teferi in sight. You just have to put your opponent on a 1 turn clock with no on board ways to see more cards. They have exactly what is in their hand plus their draw step to answer a creature with pro colored spells
Wait, can't teferi not bounce Emrakul because Emrakul has protection from all colors?
I wonder if this deck could run Valakut. Gives you more options.
why not add khalni garden to the deck? it gives a 0/1 you can polymorph
Khalni Garden isn't fetchable like Dwarven Mine is. So including the fetchlands there's 15 ways to get a 1/1. You can also fetch for the mine at instant speed and get a token on opponents endstep. I don't think it's worth adding green lands when the only green card is Farseek. The deck doesn't have issues making the 1/1's.
Oh my god. Teferi is the Blood Moon of combo decks; jank em out with power!
It really is. Keeping your opponent from interacting is really helpful with somewhat janky combos like this.
My cousin plays a simmilar deck with squadron hawk and possibility storm with card like dwarven mine, khalani garden, and manlands (in particular the monocolored ones with very cheap Manning costs) with polymorph, maybe a fun way to try the deck?
Ohh, Squadron Hawk is another sweet idea. Hadn't really thought about that, since you can tutor them all out of the deck and then Polymorph/Creativity. I like it!
26:46 I would've laughed so hard if opponent had force of negation on your breach. I really thought they did
That would have been brutal.
You missed an opportunity naming this Poly-Dwarf.
Oh sick there it is
this is the opposite end of the combo spectrum if dimir inverter is on one far end
Isn't this the deck that kicked Crim's teeth in?
Daniel Amade LOL THATS what I was thinking!!!
Match 1 game 3
Why do you ket this hand? It's nothing
The creature on Polymorph is a rabbit, not a donkey! Isn't it?!
Why this deck has no leyline on sideboard is beyond me.
yeasss I love this deck i wish I had the money but i dont so I'm getting twiddle storm for fun 🤘
Why not remand the ancestral?
I like 4 leyline of sanctity in the side and it is better than veil in most situations.
Mr Grizzly most situations? I think the only situations that it is better is exactly mill or burn. I don’t think you realize that veil of summer is usually a 1 mana cryptic command. It counters their spell AND draws a card for 1 mana. I could see an argument for leyline against shadow but veil is already insane in that matchup so that’s a tough argument to win. Leylines are essentially dead draws and veils will almost always at least cycle and possibly counter a spell
Satyr's Cunning might be better than dwarven mine in this deck
Donkey? Is that polymorph art not a rabbit?
Yay! Teferi the Obnoxious!
I wonder if this deck could use something similar to simian spirit guide?
Simian Spirit Guide could help speed up the combo. It doesn't do much outside of that, but still might be worthwhile.
Game 1 why didnt you farseek at instant speed get dwarven mine get a token?
you had game 3 as well... polymorph in hand teferi on the field and your trying to play around instant speed removal while you control a teferi...
why not just play kalani garden as well for redundency?
wait, mine is fetchable, nvm
This deck beat the shit out of Crim in one of his last modern videos lol
Played a cpl times against it on mtgo... Pure fringe deck.
G1 is why you need planar cleansing. Better to loose 3feri than the game,
I thought this would be an Aggressive Mining deck at first.
The name would work for Aggressive Mining too :)
-4 silence, +4 opt
Might be an improvement.
did he just say budget?
Farseek can get get mine right? Did I miss something in game one?
Austin Murphy Farseek forces the land to come into play tapped, and it needs to come into play untapped to make a token
@@PhalanxRises oh I see. Thanks.
Play silence in monder more
It is a fun card to get people with. No one expects it in the main deck.
Donkey? Bruh that’s a rabbit
I've just got to say, Green is not a very creative color.
More Modern content👌
Standard and Pioneer sucks...
I've been enjoying Modern quite a bit lately, so expect to see more of in sneaking in (along with Standard and Pioneer, of course).
Emrakul is no way to win
Your opponent doesn’t get a chance to respond to the dwarf hitting the field until a pass of priority via spell or moving phases so when you get the dwarf you can just sac it as part of the casting cost of polymorph or creativity
Polymorph and Creativity do not sac creatures as part of casting cost. They target a creature and destroy it as part of resolution. So that doesn't work.
Unfortunately this isn’t correct because that is not how Polymorph or Indomitable Creativity works. They both target and if there is no valid target upon resolution, the spell will fizzle.
If the spells had sac a creature as an additional cost, you would be correct but those spells would also be absurdly broken
3rd view boys
"Budget brew deck"
Costs 865$
Modern is such a shit show
*Much Abrew* (the name of the series) deck. This one is most certainly not budget.
So... Emrakul has pro colored spells... And teferi is colored I think? So he can't bounce?
He's not a spell once he's on the battlefield, so loyalty abilities get around this.
“Spell” is a keyword that essentially means anything that you cast WHILE it is on the stack. Once a spell resolves, if it is an instant or sorcery, it leaves the stack and goes to the graveyard, and any resolved permanents (like a planeswalker) enter the battlefield. So something can only be a spell while it’s on the stack. So since planeswalker abilities are activated abilities and not something you cast, they are not spells so you can bounce with teferi or jace the mind sculptor
Emrakul's protection is weird. Spells basically only refers to things on the stack (once something is on the battlefield it's a permanent) so Teferi can still bounce it (and stuff like Oblivion Ring/Banishing Light/Detention Sphere can exile it).
