    Thank you for this video. I've been playing tcgs since I was a teen, but mostly just used meta decks online. Time to learn

      Building your own deck, even if it ends up being suboptimal, is one of the most rewarding feelings. And with this being the game’s launch time, there’s no better time to find the fun yourself.

      Trust me Citizen of Lorcana you’re not the only one that has bad experience on Building Decks

    I like what lorcana, force of will and even hearthstone did for the mana resources, lorcana make you play cards as mana or their actual card effects, force of will made you tap your commander for a stone and hearthstone just gives you 1 mana every turn; in stead of MtG where you hope RNG is on your side (yugioh player so mana was always a negative thought)

      I enjoy the resource system of Lorcana as well, but every game system has its flaws.
      I personally never cared for the design of Yugioh’s system since it lent itself toward “conditions to meet” in order to play cards and sometimes those “costs” were so favorable that it created insanely unbalanced cards.
      BUT I totally understand the hesitance to play a game with resource cards in the deck as a yugioh player because it can feel slow or cumbersome at first.

    Great stuff as always! Here’s a somewhat-related question:
    You used Amethyst-Steel as the example deck here. If you had to make 3 decks using every ink color exactly once, which decks would you pick?
    My initial instinct is:
    Amethyst-Steel (best deck based on cards we’ve seen)
    Emerald-Ruby (Aladdin aggression)
    Amber-Sapphire (princesses & Stitch).
    What are your thoughts?

      @ReadySetDraw_TCG  11 місяців тому +1

      My personal combos of choice would be EXACTLY the same as yours. Though I do have to admit my favorite deck I’ve been playing against recently is Emerald Steel. Very very strong without many emerald options. Can only imagine once we get the full set.

      @@ReadySetDraw_TCG That does seem fun. Cats + Bodyguards = a whole lot of wasted time challenging for your opponents!
      Emerald-Sapphire also seems like a good time, considering ward prevents card removal too.

    • @ReadySetDraw_TCG

      @@nickgagalis4559 I actually tried playing Emerald Sapphire recently against both Amber/Amethyst and Emerald Steel, but it was just a tad too slow at the moment. It’s a cool deck considering the protection and annoyance you can provide, but the Aurora stuff just doesn’t compliment it quite as well as what we currently have with steel.
      Glad to know we think alike though!

      @@ReadySetDraw_TCG That makes sense. I hope we get more cards to speed it up!
      In that same spirit, which currently-underpowered decks do you think have the most potential to move up the rankings once the first set is released (and beyond)? I feel like a Maurice Items deck could really turn around quickly if more items are released (especially in Sapphire & Amber).

    • @ReadySetDraw_TCG
      @ReadySetDraw_TCG  11 місяців тому +1

      @@nickgagalis4559 That’s a good question. The item deck you mention definitely just needs like 2 or 3 more solid items and it’d be pretty sweet. The items would have to have some sort of way to help with board control though since you can’t rely on Maurice or Belle early on.
      Another deck I think could be pretty sweet with some more options is any combination of Amethyst and whatever color (I’m guessing Sapphire) gets more brooms to synergize with Mickey Wayward Sorcerer. It’s already a decent little package to include, but if Ruby or Sapphire got a decent broom to play, it’d be cooking.

    Is making a Ruby and Steel a bad combination… or an autolose? I have lots of favorites on the steel side… but I was wondering if it’s not a good idea?

    • @ReadySetDraw_TCG
      @ReadySetDraw_TCG  2 місяці тому

      Ruby steel is a pretty good combination! It naturally lends itself to challenging and damaging opposing characters because both colors have good removal and strong characters. And now with set 3, it’s filled with a bunch of cool pirate cards!

    A good Curve isn't nearly as important in a game where you can use most cards as lands/resources. Just pack in a lot more expensive cards than you would in games like MTG and use the most expensive cards as Ink early on, then play the expensive ones you redraw. With the partial mulligan system you can also just put away all expensive cards, so you get more cheap cards early and can probably even play only 1 playset each of Cost 1, 2 and 3. Playing 5-6 copies of each low Cost is probably more consistent and optimal though.

      @cyndihartley7232 3 місяці тому

      I'm not sure if I'm reading this correctly but I interpreted it as you saying to use 5-6 copies of the same card in your deck building. But I'm pretty sure the rules state that only 4 copies of the same card are allowed in a deck. Lmk if I'm off track.

    • @The_savvy_Lynx
      @The_savvy_Lynx 3 місяці тому +1

       @cyndihartley7232 not 5-6 copies of a single card, 5-6 copies of each mana value from 1 to 3. So a playset of each mana value plus 1-2 cards of another card. Keep in mind this was very early theorycrafting by me and the metagame might have shaped out quite differently since then.
