I've seen these and they look good! Great prices. And yeah it seems like they're trying to elevate Epiphone's image. Tbh though, if they're using Epiphone parts ad an upgrade, doesn't that sort of hurt the image of Kramer? I would think they'd do well marketing them as a shredder variant of Epiphone, rather than a bottom-tier brand.
Man the striker takes me way back. Our lead guy had one in my first real band. All you needed back then was a full stack of Laneys and an orange box to jump on for solos! Lol. So simple. And Scott is right. Compared to the original these do look a bit goofy. I believe the old ones did not have the hard edges and the were quite thin. But I have become very standard in my tastes as I have aged. It could just be me.
My friend has the Beretta special and with some minor setup he says it's a nice well made guitar for under 200 so I'm sure these would be a joy to play
Kramer is so much mire than hair metal, but yeah its a great tagline to put everyone under one roof. Where else can you get a single hum superstrat these days huh
I used to have an original Striker it was sweet. I still have a New Jersey made Pacer with original Floyd Rose. Things weighs 900lb (or so it feels like it does), but it plays great.
I am a hair metal nut, so I asked for one of these for Christmas. I am a lefty and luckily I want that locking tremolo plus the maple fretboard. This seems like the perfect guitar for me. I grew up playing and ibanez rg 120 and played it to the point where it definitely needs work now.
Dave is just asking for the Glory Hole references every time he mentions Steel Panther. Dave also hasn’t worn a GH shirt on the channel as of yet. I’m not sure he’s dedicated to the channel if he’s not wearing his own shirts, lol. 😉😂 Yeah, so these Kramer guitars remind of me the way Yamaha released the Revstar last year. They were all essentially the same base guitar with different specs - though there were more differences between each Revstar. I sort of get the minor differences for these Kramers, and it might help some people avoid upgrading this or that, but I wish they would have bumped up the differences a bit more. I also agree about the color choice availability and the lefty thing (like why that specific model only?!). But overall, they look like cool options for the price!
Oh I forgot to answer Dave’s q’s! The horns might look weird because they are set a bit wide and have a chubby contour on top of it. I see what he means, lol. I wouldn’t say they’re ugly looking, just a bit awkward! I have seen WAY worse! I also would NOT opt for a the FR version. As much as whammy bars are epic, I’ve heard they’re a major horrible pain to restring, maintain, keep in tune, etc. Fixed bridges are more practical in my book - especially when you’re not a pro musician with an on-call guitar tech who is likely paid by a music label or someone other than you! 😂😂😂

I'd argue that the Floyd rose special bridge on these guitars is probably above average compared to other licensed Floyd rose bridges on similar tier instruments from other manufacturers, as a Floyd rose special purchased by itself is around 120usd vs 240usd for the original Floyd rose, sold by the same original manufacturer that also builds the Floyd rose special, from as best I always have understood it. . . I've had an original Floyd rose for almost a decade, and from every other Floyd rose special bridge ive played they're every bit as stable and reliable as my original Floyd was, just not as finely finished, but every bit same quality steel and not cheap cast pot metal like ive seen some licensed Floyd's made from. . . I don't know from any direct experience yet, as I have yet to get one of these in my hands (and promptly purchase after checking it out and seeing it's as I assume it to be), but I have high hopes on the bridge
I have a candy blue Kramer barretta special and it’s really a beautiful guitar, and a steal at 200 dollars. It blows any other 200 dollar guitar out of the water in my opinion. That being said, I’d love to get a striker, but the colors are just meh 🫤 they have everything else I want on them though. I think Kramer should have released more colors than Christmas green and red. Missed opportunity.

I like Kramer their weakness is their fascination with medium Jumbo, Rockers, Metal Heads and Shredders need Jumbo frets.

I also have a beretta special and it’s crazy how it only sells for 200 dollars. It’s an awesome guitar. Better than my 1100 dollar Charvel.
I'm left handed and Canadian, The Beretta costs $1,169.00 for me. That's why I want the Striker at $475.00.

I've got the Striker HSS Majestic Purple because they sent the wrong color to me, screw it plays great.
I think their nice looking guitars and at a good price point

If you can afford it the Kramer SM1 is their best imo. Ebony fretboard, Mahogany body and neck, Seymour Duncan JB pickup, Floyr Rose tremolo
Its a shame they don't come with a flame maple cap as they did in 2010-2015. The flame on those is insanely beautiful. Get one before prices rise.
