(if you don't already know) I'd recommend doing research and watch videos of setting them up, tuning and all that before buying one. They can be quite complicated sometimes.

A small correction: Steve Vai was the first to put a recessed Floyd on a production model, but Brad Gillis had carved out wood to do pull-ups very shortly after he acquired his first (pre-production) Floyd.
I was the first to take a chistle to, and ruin, a beautiful maple gold pick guarded Shecter strat I bought from Jeff Watson and had Floyd Rose in Seattle put a his last tremolo on, before selling his patent to Japan. Horrible job, it was unplayable.
Great review...informative & fun. Glad to see that I'm not the only one who loves a FR style guitar. They just remind me of the era that I grew up in and made me fall in love with playing guitar. After 35 years I still love these guitars :)
Dagan has the purest soul ever I love him to pieces! Also I want to share that on the single one occasion I had an issue with a guitar I bought from pmt they straight away resolved the issue with me. They even gave me a choice of resolution such as replacement or partial monetary reimbursement. It’s wasn’t their fault either it was the factory the guitar was made. Absolutely brilliant business. I have a Harley Benton fusion 3 and it works like a charm. It has a Floyd rose 1000, 24 frets, stainless steel frets, and even push pull knobs for coil spliting. it will only set you back about 400 dollars and is well worth the price!
I mean this with the utmost respect, I am not making fun... Your Russel Brand is spot on. And your "How to change strings on a Floyd Rose" video made my life infinitely easier.
I check my tuning everytime I play and I will attest I own the sun valley super shredder and a schecter e 1 and I broke a string before I ever had to adjust the fine tuners on the e1 and I’ve barely moved them on my sun valley!!! Literally blew my mind
Dagan, I truly appreciate all the effort you put into your channel. You have really helped me i many different circumstances. Much appreciation my friend.
Dagan,,dood man, I just have this urge to be your friend. You have such a positive attitude and I’m sure it’s contagious irl. Glad I found you in the algorithm, wish I’d found you sooner! You rock my dooooood!
@JaxH0pkins I would, but the Genesis models seem to have a better playing neck with good fret ends to me. That and the throwback feeling to the 90s Japanese Ibanez's lol. I have a mint condition all stock 1996 RG570 with the lo pro edge tremolo. It's my baby ahaha. I apologize for sounding like a purist. Otherwise the Jiva Jr and some other mid range Rg's have the same tremolo as the premium range right? I had an RG premium model and it also stays in tune with much abuse. Better fret ends than the Genesis models I believe. And you can get them used under 1K as well!
I agree 1000%.. I actually commented before I saw your comment about surprised he didn't have the Genesis Rg on here... I have the Rg 570 Genesis in Jewel Blue and it's my favorite guitar w a floating trem. Nothing beats that original Edge
I just LOVE the Kramer's with the killer humbucker, just think, it's iconic, Motley Crüe, Evh, ecc.. And it costs just 'bout €700, this is just beautiful, I'm keeping money for buy one of these beautiful guitars \m/
I own a charvel pro San dimas in metallic deep purple... best guitar ever, I have an American strat too and the Mexican made is on par with that. I use to be one of those snobs until I got this guitar.
I’d recommend buying a second hand guitar maybe a few years old in great condition and it means you can get like a proper floyd rose or something on that quality under a grand easily
Yet again, AWESOME! I'm being swayed towards the Schecters, the more I hat you bang away on them, the more I'm being swayed by their sound! Thanks D! Is a Jiva a fair fight against the rest?
I'm looking to buy another guitar and it has to be a charvel for me. The specs are outstanding for the price they are. Probably the most versatile out out these five too and let's not forget that they are fender owned too with the licenced headstock.
Try it out! I do love my Charvel. My only gripe is the heel and the lack of two frets. However, whenever I keep it in drop-d I do not miss the last two frets, and I have no complaints.
It's been a long time since I've seen someone with such enthusiasm for rock and metal guitar 🎸 playing, and the gear ⚙ involved. It is indeed infectious and salute 👏 him. Give'em hell Dagan! Cheers 🍻
I think there was an error in your spec for the Fender. The Player series Strats do have a 9.5" radius, all except for the Floyd Rose equipped model, which has a 12" radius. Otherwise, great video. 🤘
Straight away I've got to go for the Charvel ,it just sounds so versatile, looks good & sounds awesome, you seem like a very skilled player, would love to have your natural sound skill ,hang on the EVH also is on want 🤔 one day
Very glad to see the Jiva Jr getting some love. It's probably going to be my next electric guitar, for the sole reason that I can't see myself being able to afford the big boy(/girl? lol) model Jivas anytime even remotely soon. Folks out there, definitely don't let Nita's lack of Y chromosome deter you from this beautiful piece!
I am an intermediate-level player and I just ordered the RR3 before watching the video, haha. My first trem guitar after having a string-thru ESP LTD for years.
Mark Knopfler used a Schecter Strat in the 80's for some of his live work. More noticably the legendary performance of Telegraph road at Wembley. It's one of his best live solo's and on a Schecter. I swear by them.
Rule of thumb when buying a Floyd Rose guitar: *BUY ONLY THE REAL GERMAN FLOYD OR THE KOREAN 1000 SERIES.* Avoid anything Floyd Rose related, that says "Special" or 2000 or 3000 Series on it. Only the German & Korean versions use stainless steel saddles/knife edges, the licenced versions (Special, 2000 & 3000) use some cheap af metal alloys that aren´t durable and will either break down or corrode over time. The only difference the Korean 1000 series has, is that the saddles are slightly angled, which doesn't effect playability, tuning stability or sustain. Generally speaking: if you buy a Floyd equipped guitar, get ready to spend a lot of time in order to learn how to properly set it up, change strings/tunings etc. It´s a fairly complicated system, that can cause even experienced players frustration. BUT, a properly set up, quality Floyd will stay in tune even if yout do the most crazy whammy-bar tricks.
Dagan... You are a true Dude 'X' factor ! Thanks muchly for these seven reviews... Of course... You saved the Best 'til Last... as did "The Man"... turning water into wine... but I'm just a one-eyed... Fender / Squier ... Disciple who 'loves' Fishman & HSS ☘
In 2018 I bought an Ibanez S670qm in sapphire blue from PMT which I love. The clean tones are what sold it to me. The Jiva Jr has the same main specifications with a few tweaks like the fretboard in ebony with inlays. Mine had mahogany body but for later models the wood changed to the same one now used on the Jiva Jr. Also my guitar had the quantum pickups which were used on the later versions of the 670. Dagan did a review of the 670 in August 2019 and November 2017 on UA-cam. As it appears the 670 is no longer available in the UK, the Jiva Jr is the perfect replacement.
I have a diMartini sig mexico Pro-Mod Charvel San Dimas in snakeskin I love, LOVE, that guitar. ❤ and thanks to my brother-in-laws obsession with 80s hard rock and EVH, this has become a new obsession of mine since he bought his Kramer. I want one of each brand, put them through their paces. 🎉 full maple neck, contoured heel, proper "whammy bar", loud as heck both in sound and looks "she will be mine, oh yes, she will be mine"❤😂
For me the answer would be the EVH Wolfgang Standard. I have 2 of them and they stay in tune very well. And the necks on the new ones are just crazy good.
Love my Ibanez, but I put an original Floyd rose 1984 in it & a FU-Tone 34mm big brass block! SOUNDS AMAZING! You can hot rod a cheaper gutair that will compete with the top of the line gutairs!
My favorite guitar is my Schecter Sun Valley Super Shredder. Mine is in surf green with maple board. I have the same Fender Player Strat with Floyd you have. I moded mine to a single humbucker and volume and now it's killler.
I have the kramer and it is a straight up rock machine for phenomenal price! Put a gotoh floyd with big brass block and a neck with shark fin inlays and steel frets.
I love my Charvel San Dimas pro mod style 2. It has just about every sound there is and can cover metal to funk, country etc. Best guitars of all time!
They are awesome I had a Charvel Dan Dimas from 2018 2 humbuckers,Floyd 1000,maple fretboard it had a damaged or seized truss rod or it had glue on it which had no adjustment I couldn't budge that rod for the life of me.The action is too high and is unplayable after spending 1400$ Canandian now I need to buy a new neck or have someone unglue the fretboard and replace the rod big disappointment but I bet this doesn't happen to all of em but Charvel owners beware I'd save up and get the American Charvel instead.
I would recommend the evh red stripes for around 700 - 800 bucks. I love the neck, i love the design. one pickup, one volume knop. that’s all i need to play hard rock. this guitar is a freaking work even tho i deinstalled the d tuner cuz i don’t need it
Ohhhhh we have a Crashdiet fan right there! ;) Around the 21min mark. That band would have been extremely sucessfull in 1988. They are totally killing it!
Recently got a PRS custom 22 semi hollow charcoal burst quilt top, with tremolo . It’s a toss up of favorites between that and my epiphone modern les Paul.
I have a jackson x series soloist sl2 with a floyd special and duncan designed pickups it is a super nice guitar the duncan designed pickups are very very good, they just sound like real seymour duncans and the floyd stays in tune very well. Absolutly check these out !
Ok.. in that price range out of 17 different guitars I have in your mentioned price range w/ floyds... The Ibanez Genesis Rg comes with the original Edge, in my book the very best Floyd/floating trem ever created. But, lets be honest most guitars in your range that come w/ Floating trem's will most likely be the Floyd Rose 1000. Ibanez is probably the only brand that doesn't use Floyd Rose Trems. The Jiva jr w/ the Edge zero-2. So outside of those trems, I think it comes down to the Pickups responding to the Trem. My favorite Pups w/ floyds are the EMG retroactives, JB and Seymour Distortion. Dimarzio super Distortion and Super Distortion 3's. I do have the Jiva 10 and sadly it was by far the worst guitar I ever received via shipped. Every fret was super sharp and the frets were unleveled and the whammy bar wasn't threaded correctly to screw onto the Trem. I still have it, but it was a lot of work to get it playable, and the signature pups look amazing but aren't the sound I really am going for. Kinda wished I just got the Jr instead. I prefer that blue to blonde quilted maple top and I could have put in a set of Retroactives in and still saved a lot of money.
I started a few months ago playing the electric guitar, my teacher learned me to play green day - boulevard of broken dreams in just 4 guitar lessons…he said to me: this is a good song to learn power chords. I really enjoy playing because it is something I always wanted as a child (i’m 20 now) My first guitar is A Squier Stratocaster I did some modifictions on it but I was thinking of buying A second guitar. (in a couple of months) I really like the Ibanez RG320EXZ Black Flat. The one that Dagan showed in a video…but what would you buy as a second Guitar? Any tips are welcome!
I would recommend a Charvel Pro Mod Series model, either the DK 24 or the San Dimas/ So-Cal. The San Dimas/So-Cal is very similar to a Strat in terms of the body, but they have humbuckers with coil-split. They´re available with a fixed bridge and a Floyd 1000 Series. The DK24 has the smaller "Dinky" style body, 24 frets and a more ergonomic neck heel for better access, similar to the Ibanez design. Comes also with a 1000 Series Floyd or a fixed bridge. All Pro Mod models by Charvel have brand name pickups by Duncan or DiMarzio and their necks are amazing. Thin for fast playing but not as thin like Ibanez necks and they have compound radius fingerboards, which makes them more ergonomic, I would rather go with a fixed bridge, because a Floyd needs some time to learn how to set it up and it can be very frustrating for new players. They´re new a little more expensive but you can find them used for very good prices. Another alternative, would be something by Schechter. They also have some amazing mid-budget guitars.
For me the ,the one and only Fender player series would be my first choice fallowed by a close second Jackson v guitar those two Just had the ingredients for it ...
I gotta say, I cracked a big smile when I heard you play “Looks That Kill” outta that modern-day-Mick-Mars-looking super Strat (sounds amazing even though it’s “only” a Player series!). About a year or so ago, I got a white Kramer 84 with an *ebony* fretboard via eBay, which looks just like what Mick had in the mid-80s… the single JB sounds awesome! Next up might be a Charvel or that Schecter due to the 24 frets to play one particular song- “Life Goes On” by Poison (I’ve seen the solo done w/ 22 frets, but I’m not that good).
The Schecter Sun Valley Super Shredder seems brilliant, but it has the dreaded Floyd Rose Special on it! For that price, I'd expect the better Floyd Rose 1000 at least.
I have to get one of those white Strats. I had a Made in Japan Charvel So Cal and like a moron traded it off and have regretted every day since. Nowadays those models have doubled in resale price. This will be a perfect replacement.
Dagan has the best guitar stage presence. Hyped up, smiling, rocking out. This man should have been an 80s LA rock star

I really enjoy playing because it is something I always wanted as a child (i’m 20 now)
My first guitar is A Squier Stratocaster I did some modifictions on it but I was thinking of buying A second guitar. (in a couple of months)
I really like the Ibanez RG320EXZ Black Flat.
The one that Dagan showed in a video…but what would you buy as a second Guitar?
Any tips are welcome!
anything with humbucker pickups
@@Cody.T Thank you!💪🏽
I always recommend a hard tail guitar for beginners...they are simple to maintain and stay in tune...the prs se is a great value
@@eddiejr540 Thank you!💪🏽🤘🏽
I would recommend a Charvel Pro Mod Series model, either the DK 24 or the San Dimas/ So-Cal.
Thin for fast playing but not as thin like Ibanez necks and they have compound radius fingerboards, which makes them more ergonomic,
I would rather go with a fixed bridge, because a Floyd needs some time to learn how to set it up and it can be very frustrating for new players.
They´re new a little more expensive but you can find them used for very good prices.
Another alternative, would be something by Schechter. They also have some amazing mid-budget guitars.
Yeah that Fender Player is sounding with new age & old school versions it comes with how many twangs you can come up with 🤘🤟🎸😎👍👌🙌😍
I love both my RR, I have the concord minus the trem, and the black and gold non trem.....best players to me
make a video on fender bullet mustang i am pretty sure lot of people want that
pls
Great intro
that squeel on 30:53 hahaha you can see you are like omg that was perfect xDDDD
Sunset shred with the sustaniac are available at 600 used now. That's what I'm getting.
For me the ,the one and only Fender player series would be my first choice fallowed by a close second Jackson v guitar those two Just had the ingredients for it ...
How about Super Strats in the same price range but with fixed bridges? I wonder what features you can get when your money instead of the FR.
On the Floyd Rose Special; swap out the zinc saddles and block with steel 1000/German saddles and brass block.
I own a couple of Jackson's one is a korean-made warrior with a Floyd and in my other one is a Dimebag Darrell Razorback Edition with a Floyd
A Jackson Razorback? Are you sure?
@@shiftyfitter Roy I have a Dean Razorback it's not a Jackson you misinterpret what I said
@@jackcollins5818 Ok. I have a couple of fish, one is a koi carp the other is a budgerigar.

Dude, You make me want a Schecter with a Floyd Rose and Sustainiac
The Schecter Sun Valley Super Shredder seems brilliant, but it has the dreaded Floyd Rose Special on it! For that price, I'd expect the better Floyd Rose 1000 at least.
I think I'm going to get them all
I have to get one of those white Strats. I had a Made in Japan Charvel So Cal and like a moron traded it off and have regretted every day since. Nowadays those models have doubled in resale price. This will be a perfect replacement.
Hi Dagan, I bought a squire comptempory strat with a Floyd rose , shell pink, absolutely bad as.
The Schecter will need steel FR saddles. They strip out. Needs a 32mm FR brass block too.
