    Pap, which we call 'Kooko', 'Akatsa', 'Zogbor', in Ghana is a staple. It's the original West African baby's first food and fever destroyer. I like it very sour with roasted groundnuts. Yummy! West African food is the best.

      My sister, this is made from corn as well. Mhen, i respect every African who survived the transatlantic slave trade. Despite the horrors they went through, they made sure they maintained and preserved their cultures even when their languages were taken away from them.

      Mosunmola Adeojo maintained what culture... corn is indigenous to America... VERY well documented fact. This is based off American traditions. When corn made its way around the world, everyone was getting sick and dying because they weren’t preparing corn properly... SMH.

    • @Melanin_Move
      @Melanin_Move 6 років тому +1

      Mosunmola Adeojo Very true. We make this in the Carib. What people don't know is that Africans we're there before the transatlantic trade. I'm Jamaican and something I've discovered were direct African like a place in Westmoreland called Abeokuta, Jamaica. I never knew that was a Yoruba name😂. Matter a fact this tribe took over many parts of the Americas before the trade like the name "Taiwo" is on old maps. Much love and blessings to you 😆

    Is this porridge? This is a traditional breakfast in the Caribs. We give it to our children alot. By force we drink it like formula😂. We make it with corn, plantain, green banana, etc. You can make any kind of porridge. Just add milk, coconut milk, sweet milk, cinnamon, vanilla, nutmeg. At least this is the basics. I've never seen it from scratch like this. Nice.

    • @adejokebakare

      Corn is fermented and it is ground, then sieved to separate the chaff, the corn used is usually dry corn not flour. The fermentation process makes it easily digestible and it adds to the nutritional value. Some people add spices to it, you can use Millet, as well.
