As a Greek Orthodox, I don't celebrate that holiday and I don't even know what is celebrated on that day. October is a month in which I read books that I also read in the other months of the year.
Howling Dark is going to blow you away imo. EoS is all set up, but Howling Dark is where this series really kicks off. I bought IQ84 as a result of one of your videos and I'm hoping to dive into that one this month. Excellent video my man.
I can't recommend him enough. Some people find Grace of kings a little slow, but boy, he puts his foot on the gas in book 2. Also if you just want a quick taste of his writing, the paper menagerie is a book of short stories and it is phenomenal. Not to mention has won many awards.
The Great and Secret Show has a really excellent sequel called Everville. Barker is planning a trilogy, but he hasn't gotten to the third one yet. You should also read Imajica, which is my favorite book by him.
If you haven't yet, watch The Exorcist 3. It's the movie version of Legion and it's directed by William Peter Blatty himself. One of the best jump scares ever
On The Ruins now. I finished 'Salem's Lot and Werewolf Omnibus (three books in one volume). I was hoping both books would have been mind blowing but they weren't as great as I hoped for. Oh, and I finished WOOM...very disturbing ha ha. Pretty gross. I want to check out Ken Liu. I did check out Haruki Murakami The Wind up Bird Chronicles. I really enjoyed it so thank you for the suggestion.
@ChannieType_O Ken Liu has a wonderful short story collection called the paper menagerie. It's a nice way to check him out without having to read a 1000 page book.
@@rammelbroadcasting I usually am not a big short stories fan. I tend to push myself through a book as long as it is at least three stars or above! I’ll get one of his books and let you know what I think! Thanks for the suggestion.
“Memory, prophecy, and fantasy, the past, the future, and the dreaming moment between, are all in one country, living one immortal day. To know that is Wisdom. To use it is the Art.” Not a flawless novel IMO, "The Great and Secret Show" but it's definitely got... something and you need to read it to get to "Everville" (which I liked even more). And as for the third part, well, maybe GoT fans could watch and learn what it _really_ means to wait for a final book in a series :). (pity you don't have the "Books of Blood" BTW, I think there're 30 stories in total so you could've read one a day for the entire month, ish :)
How many hours a day do you read? And at what times? Do you read instead of any other entertainment? I just couldn’t imagine being able to read all of this while working full time and having two kids.
@LevisLover16 I read at pretty random times it's not set in stone because I can't rely on set times due to life, but I do read every day. I also always carry a book on me and read pretty much every break I get at work and then download the audio book of what I'm reading. That way I can listen to it while I'm doing chores and driving. Then pick up where I left off when I have time to read physically. I do watch a lot less tv than I used to.
@@rammelbroadcasting yeah I was just curious I figured it was pretty often on breaks and audio books mixed too. Without much other entertainment. Thank you, love the content and setup.
Howling Dark is going to blow your mind! It was my favorite until Disquiet Gods!
Malazan is S tier
Thanksgiving has entered the chat.

I just started Gardens of the Moon last week. I'm loving it so far, interested to hear your take on it
The Ken Liu praise has me nudging him up the subconscious list-also stoked to see the continued sun eater read!
And also wow! The dive into Malazan! Excited to see that too lol. It isn’t as daunting as people say. Just sit back and enjoy the ride
Just ask jack skelington. He loves Christmas.
Keep up the good work 👍. A bit more manga if you will.
Agreed. Kindaichi Case Files is super good and can be horrifying.

@@blacknbluecollarreader I hope you like it.
The Great and Secret show is a great read.
Nice! My October TBR is It, Something Wicked This Way Comes, The Terror, and Frankenstein. All first time reads except for Frankenstein
Something wicked this way comes is an all-time favorite of mine. Great pick.
Really fun update video, great stuff coming up from you!
Your enthusiasm for Ken Liu is contagious! I’m going to have to give his Dandelion Dynasty a shot in the near future.

@@rammelbroadcasting oh I didn’t realise he had a collection of short stories. It’s going on my TBR asap! I might start with that one. ☝️
I'd like a video about Ken Liu. I don't think I've even heard of him before. You make him sound great though. I'd love to know more.

I'm looking forward to my own October reading list. I think you have added one more book to my month, though, as I just ordered Uzumaki. 😅
If you haven't yet, watch The Exorcist 3. It's the movie version of Legion and it's directed by William Peter Blatty himself. One of the best jump scares ever
House of Leaves should be a relatively easy read, it is long but also entertaining, especially if you skip the appendices
@@arekkrolak6320 It's also half blank lol although if I know myself I'll literally sit there reading the backwards writing🤦♂️

I'm sending you a new supernatural thriller called The Eighth Sacrament (to your PO Box). Should be a good October read. :)
@JackManhire Cool, I'll check it out.

Hey there. I am thinking of starting to get into manga. Have any recommendations for a series to get started with?

Uzumaki season 1 episode 1 is out🎉🎉 it be cool to see what you think
@AbielemilCasillas That's funny. I actually very briefly mention it in that TBR video. In short, though, it was fantastic.
Look in PO box on Thursday I sent you books
@Hogtownboy1 Cool, I will. Thank you!
