I've learned more in 3 hours of video lectures UA-cam than i ever did in biochemistry class thank you khan academic and whoever invented technology and UA-cam.
Your organic chem course videos are really good, there is only one thing that might improve the course and that would be to give practice problems like you do on your other courses not just videos. The videos are phenomenal but giving practice would also be very helpful to solidify these concepts and lock them in.
I can't ever thank you enough for taking the time to explaining these things with colors, I'm such a visual person that I can't see things if step by step aren't told. Thank you a million and 1 times!!! I will for sure be sharing this video with the rest of my classmates from O. Chem!
i did not understand the chair flip before, but after you color coded the parts of the cyclohexane it was easy! Great way of thinking about it and teaching it. Thank you!
They require about 11 kcal/mol of thermal energy. The room temperature has 20 kcal/mol of thermal energy, therefore they change the conformation rapidly back and forth at room temperature.
He has a team of people who work with various subjects. On subjects he is great at he teaches otherwise he probably has a TA (maybe multiple) to help out. Either way he is definitely still a genius.
Ok so I love your videos but. . . jus a simple correction or question.Isn't Axial C-H bonds parallel to the "axis" of the ring and the Equatorial C-H Bonds project outwards from the ring around its "equator." ?!! I Think u mixed it up in video ^_^ Correct me if I'm wrong. Thank you
I am tired. I can't find any of the animation kind of videos that what bonds are actually rotating. All I see is just forms drawn before the rotation and forms drawn after the rotations. Seems like no one out there actually knows how these take place basically?
i learned more in these 12 and a half minutes than i have the past few lectures. so helpful!
Roxy G sorry to say but looks like u haven't got good teachers. Lol
Hey, what you are doing now?

FINALLY caught up with the rest of the 20 page lecture notes.
MAKING CHEMISTRY EASIER IS KHAN ACADEMY
The chemist must have been drunk when they named it the "Chair Confirmation"
Hunter Pauley you mean conformation? 😂 Seems like someone else is drunk.
@@snekthesilverboi it can be called configuration/conformation
The rate at which i understood these concepts feels like i just cheated the system...At this rate im going to be a Professor :) Thanks Khan Academy
i did not understand the chair flip before, but after you color coded the parts of the cyclohexane it was easy! Great way of thinking about it and teaching it. Thank you!

This helped clear up so much, I didn't understand much when you flipped the structures. Thanks :)

Sal has it right in this video. Axial sticks up and down.

You're a genius; how can you possibly know so much?!

You are the best teacher ever, thank you so much!!!
Thank you!! Really helped a lot in visualising the boat and chair :)
this is so helpful!!! thanks a lot
Keep it up Sal! You NEED to explain suprafacial and antarafacial! All your diels alder videos are awesome you should keep adding to them!
is that organic chem?
Thanks a lot, finally understand this
this dude should start his own credited online college
thank u very much.this will help us to make out chemistry better
great work by Sol.. thanks a lot!!!
Sal?

U R THE BEST!!!!KEEP UP THE LEGIT WORK MAN!!!!!!
EXCELLENT! 🎉
wow ,it was amazing how I finally understood these configurations.
Thanks a lot
Thank you so much sir 😊❤️
You are a BOSS Salman Khan, your videos in Bengali are me aswell!
great video. just in time for my quiz =)
Thank you . I love you hahaha this was really clear !
does it matter how you draw the hydrogen? the one's pointing up? (the one in yellow)
Wow 😍😍
Is a chair conformation always more stable than a boat conformation? Or just in this example?
@khanacademy could you please do us a favour and make a video about Brendt´s rule (bridgehead position)...
Thank you so much !!!!!!
It was amazing ❤️ explanation 👌

The funny thing is that such topics are asked in entrance level examinations
so...true. so true.
Gracias.
Is it configuration or Conformation?
that's great
Does anyone know the name of the video he made after this? He mentioned it at the beginning of the video. I would greatly appreciate it.

I have trouble distinguishing between meso and enantiomer when using these cyclo hexane models.
enantiomers are mirror images of each other
Hi. Thanks for the excellent discussion.By the way, may I know what virtual whiteboard you are using? ^_^ Thanks
So make a small (or large) donation then.
would trump also ban this angel of education
me watching this in 2024 .... imaginig i was 3 years old when video got posted duhhh

If you still want to see this get an ochem ball and stick set. You can form the chair form then flip it to form half chair, twist boat, then boat
@iHateSally how much do you charge?
my exam on Monday 😭
Ahmed Mufeed had an exam three years ago, not gonna lie he really do be stressing though
i am future i am comming on this topic in 2023 october 30 12:08 AM 💀😂
@iHateSally LMAO!!! gotta love UA-cam
I can't draw a good chair for shit. Fuck.
@babygurl25392 Are you learning these basic things in your 3:rd year? Holy shit.
#16
O'some
isnt it supposed to be "chair and boat conformations" instead of "configuration"?
Yeah actually.
@babygurl25392 Same here so excited!
*conformation not configuration
@blasphemytard yeah sooooooooooo
I am a guy and I will tell him the same thing lol
chippi chippi
