You played the game in a fairly good time. I played around the launch date, maybe a few months later. And the game was in rough shape. Yes it looked beautiful but empty. People went way too hard agains't No MAn's Sky at the time, but that game was made by 16 people, this one was made by at least 300. The rellease build of this game was in an inexcusable state, and Square Enix was lucky that people were soo tame with them, considering FF13 had a way better finished product when released if compared to 15.

People came down so hard on that game (and rightly so) but at least they took the time to fix it and have now given fans pretty much everything they wanted from the trailers. Meanwhile FFXV got a few half-hearted DLC which didn't include any of the things people wanted and then cancelled the rest...

Yea, the whole world map of FFXV had been outlined but a bunch of locales got scrapped and they had to condense the story from multiples games into just 1 game. It really sucks.
My favourite part of FFXV was exploring the environments and cities that they designed, it annoys me so much we arent able to explore like you do in this video as part of normal gameplay especially knowing that they built all of this
exactly my sentiment. imagine clocking in everyday at the square enix offices dedicated nd fucking toiling away on these massive environments w stellar amounts of detail--only to have zero players who they were intended for to even step foot on those sacred grounds. i feel like in any game of this ambition nd scale its a genuine crime to work so fucking hard on these intricate environments to have no meaningful content to tie it all together. shits insane

While Persona 5 and the Yakuza series have their own takes, there could still be hope to see this in Kingdom Hearts IV.

10:22 on the left I think that's the restaurant Noctis used to work at as a teen. I really hope we get the full extent of what they were planning one day. There was so much out there during the train ride through cities we missed and a big bit of Altissa we were never allowed to get to. Even Insomnia was lit up at night, as if we would have seen that in gameplay... There was just so many unused assets.
So many people hope for a Xenogears remake….I just honestly wish they put out a “complete” version of FFXV. There is SO much of that map to explore…these out of bound videos are awesome because it shows how much area they finished (most even with hit collision even) but didn’t get added to the in-game finished product. Such a shame….
I always had a thought that, during the ending of chapter 1, they could have entered back into Insomnia during its invasion as a sort of "rescue mission" of its citizens of whatever is left, where they are also introduced to the early main villains of the story,
This is cool to see Insomnia without all of the Founder day celebration stuff from episode Ardyn. It reminds me of a trailer way back when we were fighting a behemoth in Insomnia in daylight and even in all the versus 13 trailers there was SO much stuff going on in Insomnia we were clearly supposed to be there for quite a while. I'm still so sad we never got that game... i wonder how much Quadratum will resemble Insomnia

This is a huge part of what the game was missing. If they had allowed you to explore more towns and interact with more people it would've been great. I feel like it wouldn't have been that hard to implement if they were given more time, especially knowing that all of this was already developed. Open the story up in Insomnia, let that be the tutorial to get you used to the controls. Do a few fetch quests, explore the castle, spar with Gladio to get the combat mechanics down, etc, then implement some exploration in Tenebrae later on. Have Noctis and gang there when the daemons attack. It would add more exploration, story, and gameplay. I enjoyed the game overall and once all the pieces were in place the story did have a lot of interesting aspects to it, but it was presented very poorly. They wanted it to be a multimedia experience, which would've been great if the initial game was complete. Instead, the additional media had to support the game's story rather than expand upon it. I have tons of respect for Tabata and the team that worked on this. If it hadn't been for the poor leadership throughout the majority of the game's development, we could've had an amazing game from day 1.
I remember spending HOURS in this version of insomnia, when downloading this game on my slow wifi. Looking outside the gates, the download pre-game really had me waiting for the actual game to let me out and explore the city.
This is amazing….I wish I would’ve known you could access this when the disk is installing. I played FFXV for the first time back in May of 2021. Quickly became my favorite FF game. I love it to bits and pieces. Really cool to see all this secret stuff.
I mean the amount of artwork that went into this game is too fantastic. There are a few things I didn't like - such as the weird final plot leaving everyone unable to understand why each and every character was behaving the way they were behaving, but those cities, those landscapes, are ..... humongous artworks
They could've just made FF:Yakuza and I won't be complaining. Like there is no need to always do big missions, just Noctis and crew beating up local thugs for selling fake potions and shit

Well FFXV is pretty much an Unfinished game, a lot of ideas been scrapped, and i also believes there is a lot of stories element that also cut from the game, since the story itself feels "Rushed". Too bad a lot of the assets is unused, FFXV could've been the best FF or even won a GOTY if it's complete from the start.

you have to jailbreak your ps4 or xbox download the games pkg files on ur pc & merge the colition files of the chapter14 insomnia into the open combat insomnia, once you do that you’ll have to intergrade it onto the game so when you put the game on your console, fresh with no updates the game will start you off on the open combat & you’re basically free to roam
This is what you have to do, you have to jailbreak your ps4 or xbox download the games pkg files on ur pc & merge the colition files of the chapter14 insomnia into the open combat insomnia, once you do that you’ll have to intergrade it onto the game so when you put the game on your console, fresh with no updates the game will start you off on the open combat & you’re basically free to roam.
how did you re-add collision with chapter 14 assetts on console? Im curious since I was hoping to try this myself but if there is no collision normally than could you tell me how you did added collision?
Was this insomnia already in the 1.0 version of the game? If that’s the case I can’t believe they used all that effort to make the whole city only to not show it to us.

I blame Crystal Tools for being such a bad engine which caused issues all around and almost killed Squenix. Maybe XV would still end up half baked maybe it would have been God's gift to mankind but we'll never know and we'll only be left with the dreams of what could have been. Edit: For the sake of clarity XV runs on luminous not Crystal Tools.
