I was finally able to try the game thanks to the Free Fly event, and I've enjoyed it so much I went ahead and picked up a cheap starter so I can continue my adventures after the event sis over (and restart them whenever the 4.0 wipe comes, haha). A large part of my enjoyment came from the various forms of mining and especially salvaging, and a big part of my interest in those activities came from watching your videos over the past few months. Thanks for making videos like this one and showing how interesting the game can be for folks like me, who typically don't enjoy combat situations as primary gameplay loops.
Love the ratio of sped up parts and taking the time to acknowledge the awesome views. Totally agree that it looks majestic how the Polaris takes off. Love it, thanks!
One thing I found fun was if you park the Vulture right outside of the cargo bay, you can use the tractor beam inside the Polaris to pull the boxes out of the Vulture and it's quite speedy since it's a ship based, beam.
I mean just because it CAN be used how it is in the video doesn't mean its efficient in any way lol. It would have been 100x easier and faster for him to do the same thing... without the polaris. Like your point is kinda like "everyone says the 100i is bad for fighting, BUT LOOK, I destroyed another ship"
The exact reason I wanted a Polaris or a Liberator was to do this exact loop. Way more efficient.🎉 Friends aren't always around to game with, thus making it much more convenient.
Polaris $975 Vulture $175 Total: $1150 (Have to takeoff and land, only produce 1 scu box for 26 scu max) Reclaimer $400 (Less work, everything contained in one package, produce up to 16 scu boxes for 480 scu total) Polaris and vulture is way less efficient than simply soloing a reclaimer.
You're like that dude in the Squadron 42 video who had wacky settings on the turret so the main character had to reset the thing. "Oh look, you've got the Vulture that Farrister used. Isn't the guy that doesn't use the gimbal? Those control are gonna be jacked! Haha" Its cool man, you scrape those panels however works for you, youve done a more than adequate job of trying it the gimbal way.
Wondering if it’s an idea to take something like the caterpillar out, fill it full of panels. Then take the panels back to a base, get the vulture out and scrape a ton of panels, then fill the caterpillar up with boxes of rmc as you go.
it would be cool if you can arrange an org level salvage mission, where you take 1 polaris, multiple fighter escorts, 10 vultures, 2 caterpillars, 3 rclaimers and a total crew of 50-70. polaris can server as the shield and it's huge cargo capacity will come in handy.
not gonna lie,, im MAD i didnt think of this myself. I was about to do some panels and thought man it be nice not having to fly back to my hanger to unload or risk leaving a cargo ship out in the open to offload..... i was hoping the Drake Cutter was gonna be a smaller salvage ship to do this very thing but CIG missed that opportunity. This will have to do till they let me have my Kraken
I cannot wait for 4.0.3 (prolly gonna take until .3 to be stable enough to do the following lol) Going to buy a truckload of food and drink and stock up the Polaris, toss in the Vulture and disappear for weeks.
Yes on the Kraken, they showed it during citzon this year, Liberator should fit but can’t confirm until it comes out. It should be too tall for the Ironclad but may work, however the Prospector should fit in all the above. Therefore, the upcoming leaked Misc Fortune should fit in all of them too.
@@TemplarGuardian The Kraken is an aircraft carrier, it should fit. In the Liberator perhaps at the roof, but it's unclear how that will work to Quantum jump.
@ yeah, just noting that they showed the Vulture on the Kraken on Day 1 of citcon and it was on the small pad, which gives me hope it may stick to the liberator. Eitherway, the fortune should fit that small salvage craft need.
CIG could have spent less time doing variety of ships and make a single multipurpose class. At the end of the day people will use any ship to do any job.
they give some skins out for free during lumanares {christmas} or you can buy them in the pledge store for most all the ships. also there are a few skins available in game for in game currency as well. all skins are specific to each type of ship they are not universal
I'm soryy, I do enjoy your videos Farister, but this is NOT the true purpose of the Polaris, and is in fact a waste of it's resources!! Fun to see, and I guess, while I am here, it isn't really all that different from those using a Valk to transport a ROC. Brought a smile to my face in any case.
Dude! 12X speed is too damn fast! You're giving me headaches! Nice video, but damn man, slow it down a bit. You said it's a gameplay video...then give us gameplay. If people don't appreciate the grind, then maybe they shouldn't be watching an SC "gameplay" video.

0:20 “comfortably store the vulture in the Polaris hanger bay”
4:38 “ it’s not really comfortable”
Haha 😂 it was nice to see the reality :)
Naw...he was in a rush and made some user errors.
Extremely comfortable compared to the 890 at least. 😆 Fun times.
6:09 The Polaris, doing what it's doing best - hunting panels with a single crew member...
This looks like the best way to solo salvage :)
Love the ratio of sped up parts and taking the time to acknowledge the awesome views. Totally agree that it looks majestic how the Polaris takes off. Love it, thanks!
I love the versatility of the Polaris Cargo bay and hangar - a worthy mothership for diverse gameplay.
It always amazes me as to just how big a ship the vulture actually is.
Damn CIG knows how to make some pretty ships, and the Polaris is no exception.
One thing I found fun was if you park the Vulture right outside of the cargo bay, you can use the tractor beam inside the Polaris to pull the boxes out of the Vulture and it's quite speedy since it's a ship based, beam.
Best thing about carrying a Vulture or Prospector is all the people that shit talked using the Polaris for utility.

@mikehunt8708 No fun in 100x easier.
No, we are here for the sight's and sounds of Farrister!! LoL. But seriously, your video's are ALWAYS A PLEASURE to watch!!
The exact reason I wanted a Polaris or a Liberator was to do this exact loop. Way more efficient.🎉

its not about efficiency, its about enjoyment
Oh babyyyy, I’ve been waiting for a vidi like this!
This just makes me excited for the Odyssey
I hope Vulture will fit in Ironclad. If so, this would be great salvage base.
almost certain the ironclad is too short on that roof to fit it in. Maybe with the roof opened but that's definitely not optimal.
You're like that dude in the Squadron 42 video who had wacky settings on the turret so the main character had to reset the thing.

Love these videos. You might do well to brand them as “Space Yoga/Meditation “ 😊
It would be cool if the reclaimer had enough (well designed) space to fit a vulture. It would be the best combo for a party of 2

The cargo bay from the Polaris is ithe only place to store torpedoes and also ammo and replacements for itself and for the ships in the upper deck.
Add a couple of carraks to the list
Or a kraken when it's available
You parked your Vulture like you were drunk flying.
I imagine the Odyssey will be better for this when it arrives.
Probably not. The Vulture fits fine. Farrister was obviously drunk or in a rush.
Absolutely love These Videos.

Tried the polaris and the vulture it was fun and how did you get the gimbals to workk
I tried to do this but never got around to actually trying to salvage - it was such a pfaff
Great perspective :)
Icebreaker Polaris Skin Soon(tm)
What sort of profit did that haul bring in? I was disappointed you cut that part out!
Salvaging don't make as much profit as it used. Scrappers aren't going to be millionaires by scrapping but by trading valuable materials.
Can the polaris hangar close with the vulture in place? Did you leave it open for convenience?
Yes it can close
I really hate the way the nose of the vulture shoots up when you break contact with the ground....
I put my vulture into my Polaris and when I opened the cargo area on the vulture in the back the ship disappeared.
Where else will a Vulture fit into? Liberator, Ironclad, Kraken?
Yes on the Kraken, they showed it during citzon this year, Liberator should fit but can’t confirm until it comes out. It should be too tall for the Ironclad but may work, however the Prospector should fit in all the above. Therefore, the upcoming leaked Misc Fortune should fit in all of them too.
And 890j it's tight but it fits

This is how I use my 890 Jump.
CIG could have spent less time doing variety of ships and make a single multipurpose class. At the end of the day people will use any ship to do any job.
Could just Eva and load Polaris directly from one cargo bay to the other without going into the hangar first
Can the Polaris refuel ships landed in its hangar ?
The real question is how much money you will make for one Polaris full of RMC?
Can you skin ships you buy in-game?
they give some skins out for free during lumanares {christmas} or you can buy them in the pledge store for most all the ships. also there are a few skins available in game for in game currency as well. all skins are specific to each type of ship they are not universal
It would be better if you could remotely open and close the hangar doors of the polaris
How much was the Polaris refuel?
certainly more than he made via salvage. Probably gonna have to do like 5 full loads to recover fuel costs from this thing. Not worth imo
I ccu'd my 600i to a Polaris just for this purpose
1hr just to take out ships and setup before actually flying
I'm soryy, I do enjoy your videos Farister, but this is NOT the true purpose of the Polaris, and is in fact a waste of it's resources!! Fun to see, and I guess, while I am here, it isn't really all that different from those using a Valk to transport a ROC. Brought a smile to my face in any case.
