- Piper Aerostar 702P C-GTTD is seen taxiing and taking off from CZNL in Nelson, British Columbia. The Piper 702 Aerostar is an awesome little piston twin aircraft, and is the fastest general aviation piston twin aircraft in the world.
The 700P version my favorite bird for charters in Colorado. Fast, climbs like a rocket and the high ceiling and pressurized cabin a real advantage in our terrain. Will never forget a winter takeoff from Pages Springs bound for DENVER just as the full moon came up.
I bet they're fun little planes to fly, always love seeing an Aerostar visiting CZNL. Sounds like that must have been a special flight!
You won’t want the fuel bill tho…90 gall per hour…..that’s 45per engine, per hour……
Wallet of a footballer to afford that….+servicing will cost you the other arm…..even more than B60 Duke…..
@@davemould8261 no where near that in cruise, about 45 total in cruise, you're having a laugh
I miss our Aerostar it was such an incredible aircraft !! 🤩
I bet they're a nice flying aircraft, I've always loved the design and they're one of my favourite visitors to see passing through CZNL.
That's one fine looking Aerostar. Brilliant shot 👌
I really like the livery on this one, looks great for its age.
I am a non-pilot man and was greatly impressed by both the elegant profile and the (Aerostar) model name of this aircraft. No less by the magnificent scenery, here in Uruguay we have just rolling plains, and our tallest mountain is 1950 ft! Saludos from Montevideo.
I really love the design and name of the Aerostar as well, one fun aircraft to get to spot. Yes, we really do have some great scenery surrounding the airport here in Nelson. Makes for some fun spotting! Thanks very much for watching.
Look at that-80 👍’s up and no 👎’s down. Awesome. Keep up the great videos 🛩.
Thanks a lot!
Fantastic sound !
I agree, love the sound of this little aircraft!
It sounds like a WWII fighter plane. I like it. :)
Wow, it looks like he used every inch of that runway!
Most unusual, rare aircraft. Weird looking beast!
It is a different design for sure! Thanks for watching.
I love this twin piston aircraft. C-GTTD was built in 1981. They are very rare here. Awesome sounds and footage. 100th like :) Cheers
Hello Matt my good friend, yes these planes are smokin' fast for a twin piston, i like them. God bless you & your wife, you all stay safe pal.
@ Matt's Aviation Channel, Matt my good friend, i think they are rare everywhere, even here, because although the speed is great for a twin piston driven engine, many folks will purchase a turbo prop even though for the extra cost, especially a Pilatus single turbo prop with its outstanding safety record & fortunate for you, made in your home country. Plus you get extra benefits with the turbo props, ie: higher ceiling above msl/agl, fuel consumption on props is less at higher altitudes than pistons, plus you don't have to lean your fuel on props like on pistons, etc....God bless you & your wife from me & T.
@@stevelogan5475 Hi Steve, that is a good explanation. I would prefer a PC-12 to piston because of the outstanding versatility. The PC-12 can land on unpaved, small airfields even high up on the mountains. That brings the passenger much closer to their destination. Yes, the performance and reliability are top. The Pilatus has a very good reputation. All the best to you!
Thanks so much Matt! I really like these speedy twin piston planes, I get lucky and see a few different Aerostar's visiting Nelson every once in awhile.
@@matthiashaenni Matt my good friend, i think that is why they are rare, God bless you & you know who, from T & I .
Dad just has the MT 4 blade props installed on the 602 and my oh my she sounds amazing and some noticeable speed increases and climb performance worth every penny!!!
Very nice, that must be a ton of fun flying and travelling in the 602!
Great video! I'm waiting for M f simulator 2020 so I can fly around Nelson! lol thanks for all the wonderful videos you do there.
Nice, CZNL would be a really fun airport to fly around in the sim! Thanks for watching, really glad you're enjoying the videos.
beautiful looking little prop, i would have thought it was a turbo. nice take off and those engines sound nice and strong! thanks for sharing another great video !
Look up “Aerostar Jet” on UA-cam.
I agree, they do produce a pretty good sound. Love these fast piston twins!
Demon Got Me I wonder why they stopped making them
Cool capture mate, you don't see many of those about and definitely not this side of the pond.
These speedy little twins are always really cool to see, bet they’re a ton of fun to fly!
Always nice to see and hear an Aerostar!
I agree, one of my favourites!
Great sound on the pre flight spool and slingshot acceleration! would be a good ride.
I bet these things are a ton of fun to fly, one hot little aircraft.
Brings back great memories of the London to Victoria Air Race CF - BBA TS601
YES this is the 700 HP Bad Boy and I love every minute of it !! Thanks for the video clip and B Safe !! ❤❤😊😊
Such a pretty girl. The way she struts down the runway with her nose turned up at you as if she knows she's hot.
Haha so true, love the design of the Aerostar.
I don't think I'm sold on the looks, but the sound sure is amazing. I just don't think she's got great ramp presence.
I want so bad.
Nice aircraft like to fly it someday
I bet they are a ton of fun to fly!
Incredible video! I thought this Aerostar looked familiar, turns out it is one from Victoria! I've seen this Aerostar a few times, they are always cool to see.
That's very cool you've got to spot this one before! They're pretty cool little planes, I was happy to see this one.
That's an interesting one! Never saw this before, great taxiing light :-)
Never seen this aircraft before...very nice catch!
Thanks, this one was fun to see!
Jesse my good friend, great catch , that twin engine piston driven plane is smokin' fast, & my fave departure route down the valley. This plane came out i believe in 81' , the year i started to major in commercial/cargo aviation at the university ( NKU) , never have flown one or in in one, but would really like to.( would have to be a passenger as i am grounded for numerous health issues). Have a great day pal.
They do look smoking fast indeed, love the quick twins! Bet they would be a lot of fun to fly as well. Thanks for watching Steve, hope you're doing well.
@@TheHDAviation wife & I are doing well Jesse, i pray you & yours are doing well, i think i mentioned the reason these are fairly rare is because they are as fast as some turbo props which tends to make folks purchase the turbo props instead, even though they are more costly , even the single pilatus prop, have a great evening pal.
Great video, and a treat as far as I am concerned. Never seen one before neither as a 3D model for a Simulator or in real life. A real beauty with it's nice livery. Thanks once again, I tried finding one for P3DV4.5 with no luck.
This one was fun to see. I've caught a few Aerostar's visiting Nelson, really love their design.
There’s a really good 600 for XP11 if you ever are interested
@@Saucierauto16 I don't have XP11 at this time, just the Mobile Version. Hoping to install XP12 when it's released. Currently with MSFS 2020. A2A is supposed to put an Aerostar 600 out which is still in development for MSFS 2020. I've been waiting since 2020 for it. Not sure if Scott and the team are having issues with it but the SIM Community is waiting in earnest. I have Carenado's 690B Turbo Commander for P3Dv4.5/FSX but I've uninstalled both SIMS for MSFS 2020 with its better Graphics. I have been thinking about re-installing P3D just to use all the payware aircraft I've purchased and freeware that's pretty good payware quality.
Those 6 cylinders sound great.
I agree!
WOW! a 702 GREAT Catch - HUGE LIKE 👍😎
Great catch Jesse, I sure would love to fly in this baby 😎👍
Wonderful aircraft designed by TED SMITH, yes the same whom designed the AEROCOMANDER , a few days ago there is AN AD FOR THE AERO STAR , CHEERS🇨🇦🇺🇸
Fantastic video and sound of the rare beauty, Jesse 👌 From me a big thumbs up and many greetings to Nelson, Volker 👋👋
Thanks so much Volker, I appreciate it my friend!
I'm sure everyone here realises how gorgeous this aircraft is...
I agree, the Aerostar really is a beauty!
Fantastic Video
Thanks a lot!
Haven't seen one of these before, nice video!
My favorite multi engine piston :)
I love them as well, they must be pretty fun and fast to fly!
Not a bad aircraft. That one looks clean for its age.
Crazy sound!
Love the sound this one produces!
The mid wing design is rather nice! Fantastic video mate!
great sounding aircraft! Thumbs up mate ;)
Thanks so much!
My favorite multi piston engine aircraft that I would love to purchase
With the 702P model that's is fitted with the lycoming TIO-540-U2A hp Turbo charged intercoolers and I've been in one that's so touching is the console mounted rocker switch that controls the nose gear steering which it's a great to get used to know how to taxing and on takeoff like I see hear was long . This Aircraft requires your full attention on the roll and this dude is fast at 260Kts at 25,000 feet but you are burning at 50 gph so pull your power back to 65% if you are not in a hurry to get them there at 240kts .
Oh.. She is Beautiful... And you have got it perfectly.!! Great video 😍🤩
Thanks so much, this one was fun to film!
And just to think, I once rode in one of these during a test flight clear back in 1982!
Sucks that there is still only one jet powered Aerostar. I like the airliner look of the turbofans on the wings.
I know, the jet-powered Aerostar looks crazy. Wish they would have created more!
BEAUTIFUL!
Awesome catch! Great video :)
Thanks a lot!
Beautiful.
what a wonderful takeoff !!!!!
Nice catch
Thanks, this one was cool to see.
Ted Smith was obviously a visionary 👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸
Stunning video mate! Liked!
Thanks a lot!
Beautiful airplane. Good catch.
Thanks a lot!
Nice videos, but the vehicle traffic sound in the background is a distraction.
I agree, the vehicle traffic noise is very annoying. Unfortunately, this is the best view I can get of the runway, which is right next to the road.
SEXY, Alluring, Exclusive, Unique, Powerful, and of course, fast - somewhere, Ted Smith must be smiling. And this time, blessed with a beautiful livery to match.
And Filmed to match in Your lovely Canadian setting - a memorable, outstanding vid!
Thanks a Lot, My Friend! V
Haven't seen this plane before, looks quite weird to me haha:) Awesome footage though, really enjoyed it!
I don't get to see these very often either. Strange design for sure! Thanks for watching.
When Ted Smith designed the Aerostar, he went a long way to create as close to a NO COMPROMISE airplane as he could at the time.
I'd like to know who painted it, or where it was painted... We did this on a 601 25 years ago and was the only one like it back then. Interesting...
That's the first one I have ever seen. It sounds fast. Would love to have some time at the controls.
Still rated the fastest twin in the world ;)
Bet they are a lot of fun to fly, love the design of the Aerostar.
Beauty of a plane...awesome....
Love the lines of the Aerostar, one great looking plane.
Great video! Love the Aerostar :D
Thanks, I really like them as well!
285 kts as fast as some turboprops.
Very impressive speed!
@@TheHDAviation Yep.
Very Nice! Beautiful !
Nice footage of this PA60 👍 Not a common aircraft.
Thanks a lot, this one was a fun catch!
Nice!
The Mini Invader😉
i got to help them load that plane. they were from Victoria BC
Very nice, it's a great looking little aircraft. Bet it's a fun one to fly!
aw man; i miss bringing fnky here
Looks like an interesting airport to fly out of... Is the terrain any clearer straight on?
Have you ever slowed the cruise speed down for max duration? How long could you remain aloft? 12 hours?
My special needs son wants to know how fast it can go?
She's all that.
It looks fast sitting still
Nice.
I guess I don't get it. Why did he land taxi out then turn around and take off? Wouldn't passengers say "hey can we at least get a drink or something"?
The aircraft was taxiing out from the ramp, there is no separate taxiway. It had been here for a few days.
ลงให้ดูบ่อยๆหน่อยนะครับ
The Piper Aerostar has the highest rate of small Twin - engine Aircraft accident rates because of engine failures because you can't get behind on any Muti engine Aircraft.
What? Got any proof to back that up or did you just pull it out of your ass?
“Then I joined the CIA.”
I need to watch that movie!
Dose it do marc2 at 18000ft for 😅😅😅
Is this faster than pc12 ?
Too bad the pilot didn't line up with the rwy centerline before starting the TO run. DA
American made ?
How fast?
Ted Smith Aerostar
Anyone else think he used a lot of runway?
The plane was designed to go fast. That cruise speed came at a price. The wing had almost zero angle of incidence. The flaps were adequate, but not big enough to allow for STOL type distances. A lot of pilots didn't really know how to properly take advantage of that and spent more time on the runway than necessary. Plus, you have no idea how heavy he was.
Barry seal baby show me da cocaineeeeeee
Fastest piston twin is the Mosquito.
This is the "Fastest "LIGHT" Twin
Also the fasted to hit the ground if you lose power lol..
My 172 doesn’t fly as fast as this thing taxi’s
How fast is it? Huh
For a long while, it was the fastest piston twin. There were several variants and several after-market mods/kits that made it even faster.
3 piper aerostar 702p i need send me farm veng dt30.10.2020Friday
fastest piston twin?? what about F-7F, P-38, Mosquito, B-25, etc.
From the video description: general aviation. Though it is faster than a B-25.
