🎬 Hey kittens! In this video, we meet Copycat's writer and co-director, Sam Cable. Sam began her journey as a copywriter and screenwriter. But once given the opportunity, she was excited to take the leap into video game writing. Sam's role is to help champion the story through every stage of development. This includes describing the world for the art director, plan out movement cues for the animator, and suggest vocal cues for the actors. In post-production, Sam is responsible for leading a small team who are translating Copycat into 10 different languages. Sam is the heart and soul of the Spoonful of Wonder team. We are so lucky to have her.
🎮 Copycat is a wholesome, narrative-driven game about rejection, belonging and the true meaning of home. It follows the story of a newly adopted shelter cat who becomes the victim of an elaborate plan when a jealous, stray copycat steals her place in the household.

🌻 Hey! We're Sam and Kostia, a Kiwi and a Ukrainian, first-time game makers full-time dreamers. Our indie game project, Copycat, made us feel a little scaredy-cat entering the industry. So we started this devlog to share our progress and experiences in 2021. In 2022, we founded our video game collective called ‘Spoonful of Wonder’. In 2023, we took our demo to PAX and SXSW. In 2024 our playable demo is available on Steam. We look forward to launching in 2024.
