Love this review Bill. I haven't had this years offerings yet but I thought batch 2 of the 10 was fantastic so very stoked for the new one. You're consistent with what a lot of others are saying in that batch 3 of the 10 is slightly better than the 12. As far as the rye I was not impressed initially, was getting a ton of spearmint and char until about halfway don the bottle. Now it's very different and more of a sweeter rye.
The JD10 Batch 3 really outdid the previous releases of it. I was a fan of JDTB Rye from the start but it has gotten sweeter now that mine is about half gone as well
I was able to get the batch 3 of the jd10 but missed out on the 12 yrs. This years 10 seems to be consistently beating the new 12 blind so guess it worked out!
The Heritage Twice Barrel Rye is phenomenal. I was lucky to have a nice sample, wish I had a bottle though. I do have JD 12 batch #1 though., unopened. Great review.
Hey, Keith, are you the UFC referee? 😉 Many will probably find this hard to believe but I saw a blind on a channel here where two experienced guys *agreed* that the Twice Barrelled Rye beats both JD12 B1 and George T Stagg (2023)!

This is the comparison I needed but didn't even contemplate it! Excellent! I do have one question, though. What is meant by "seasoned" oak? Or "well seasoned" oak? As compared to, say, not seasoned oak?
I use that to distinguish between sweeter oak on really old bourbons what I call well seasoned vs like double barreling or heavy oak on younger bourbons but doesn’t taste young but doesn’t taste 13+years old

Eric you did good then this is the best 10yr they’ve done and in this blind it did edge out the new 12 for me.

I don't think you mentioned any banana notes except for on the Twice Barrelled. Were you picking up banana on the others?
They all had a hint the 10 more than the 12 but I find as Jack ages it tends to lose that banana it wasn’t the star flavor on any of them.
