If there really is a V2, probably they would change the north-facing RGB to south-facing, upgrade the switch options, add a screen, or offer a few more colorways to choose from. I doubt there will be significant changes to the sound.
Sounds really good! Are oil kings noticeably smoother than stock leobog reapers? And I heard WS Pearl switches are super smooth and pretty cheap, could u try them on this keyboard?
The oil kings do feel smoother when you pay close attention to it, but when you’re furiously typing away I doubt the difference will be noticeable. I heard about the WS pearl switches too, and would definitely want to try them out one day.
Same I recently bought Leobog gray wood v3 switches and spent the time lubing them, but was hesitant to swap them for my reaper switches because they sound so good. Installed them yesterday and don’t regret it, my last keybord had optical yellows so the reapers felt a bit heavy at first for gaming. Paired with xda profile keycaps, the reapers sound and feel amazing for sure tho.
I think the milky yellows are good enough for most people, especially since it’s a lot cheaper and sound pretty similar. But if budget is none of your concern and you want to go for the absolute best then the oil king is probably the one for you.
@@MechWhisper Alright I might actually just refund that gateron milky yellow and then get the gateron oil kings. I don't know what the milky yellows really sound like irl until I try it but I don't know how to try the Aula f75 with gateron milky yellows since there isn't like a sample where you can type on something and experiment with it to your likings
He's got a vid where he tries milky yellows. I tried them too, they are alright but a little bit too quiet for me personally, so I went back to reapers on aula at least.
I am currently having Keychron K pro brown switches on my Keychron K2 Pro. I am now looking for more smoother and linear swicthes with less and pleasing sound. Can you please let me know your recommendations? currently confused between gateron mily yellow pros vs oil kings!
Interesting. I have an Aula F75 that comes with TTC Graywood switches. If I switch to Oil King switches, will it affect the RGB brightness? Sorry, I'm new to mechanical keyboard stuff.
The RGB will probably be a little less bright because the 3 stock switches, including the one you have right now, have a light defuse (the small transparent thing on the switch that stays right in top of the LED on the pcb) the ones in the video dont have that. However a lot of people agree on the diference not being THAT noticeable and tbh if you're not thinking about using pudding keycaps its better to prioritize sound over looks. Hope this helped!
I switched to Oil King switches, and the RGB is almost completely gone. You can barely see it from a normal sitting position, and it's very dim, only noticeable if you look directly from above. If you're into RGB, you might want to stick with the stock switches. I also noticed that the Graywood switches are a lot clackier compared to Oil King. Typing wise I prefer the Oil Kings
If you’re using it for just regular typing, both are equally good. Sound wise I personally prefer ice vein for the thockier sound profile, but you should decide for yourself which sound you like.
To be honest, I haven't tried many silent switches to make a thorough comparison, but I recently tried the Epomaker Nude Rose switches and found them pretty good. They aren't the quietest, but they are quiet enough for office use while still providing a bit of sound feedback.
@@MechWhisper Oh so is the sound test from the switch not hand lubed, just factory lubed? It would save a lot of time if I'd get the exact sound tests like yours in the video if I bought the switches and they don't have to be hand lubed and can just sound the same as the sound test in the video. And btw I was like thinking about what switches fit best for me so I didn't know if I wanted to like get the MMD princess v2 with the kda happy ape keycaps also cause of the prices its kind of expensive. But I might get the kda happy ape keycaps instead (like in one of your videos where you upgraded the aula f75) and pair it with the gateron oil kings in this video and see if it actually sounds better, but I'm not sure if the keycaps will actually change the sounds of the typing, but yeah just let me know how kda happy ape keycaps + gateron oil kings should sound with the aula f75 and also if the switches from the sound test were hand lubed or not. And you could also let me know if I should reconsider and buy something that might be better or if I should switch back to the mmd princess v2 with the kda happy ape keycaps, thanks a lot
If you're asking this question, I assume you don't mind either 65% or 75% layouts. In my opinion, the F75 has better build quality and is also heavier. If I need portability, I would go with the GMK67. If you just want a nice prebuilt that is ready to use with no modding and don't want to worry about what switches and keycaps to buy, then go with the F75.
@@MechWhisper well GMK67 is $10 more expensive(along with GMK keycaps and Leobog graywoodv4 switches) than F75 in our country, so I guess the F75 is better overall! Thanks!
@@MechWhisper The thumping sounds like it's coming from your desk or mic arm, not the keyboard, so you're recording background noise that's distracting from the sound of the keyboard you're reviewing.
