One very simple things Olexa didn't seem to caught on about the road system: Every road segment needs to fit a driver, so you need at the very least one space between two road nodes/posts/stations (the whole reason he couldn't connect a road to another existing one, because the way he always tried it would make a station right next to an existing one, so no space for the driver).
I feel like the drivers having a similar shape to the road node made this visually quite confusing... The UI was awesome otherwise but the roads just seemed a little bothersome
Hi BP watching you place down loggers and then later wondering why they weren't producing any trees for your other loggers to chop was probably the best part of this video
ok understanding roads is vital to this game. I played the demo a while ago so I might be able to help. any building along the road are connected. each road has a post at each end and a truck in the middle. the truck can only carry one item at a time shorter road sections are good because they are more flexible, but longer roads are faster because the truck takes the same amount of time regardless of length. building multiple buildings isnt effective because it clogs your roads. if you need 2 farms for example, place them farther apart otherwise you wont get all of the goods out along a single road. the highways are faster and longer, but can only attach to road posts, not buildings. whenever you have a long stretch of road you can replace a big section of it with a highway. the reason you were not able to connect a road in the middle of your highway is you were trying to split the highway into sections that were too short. they have a minimum length.

I love the sheer diversity of things you look at! I saw this on Steam and wanted to check out someone playing it - so I was very delighted to see this video pop up on my subscriptions. Stay awesome
Been playing this like mad since EA today. Its pretty fun trying to optimize, then demolishing everything as I hit milestones, then doing it again. I enjoyed yelling at my screen! Keep the great content coming!
I've played this game since the prologue and the demo and finally seeing the final design for the game it has come a long way with most of the buildings not costing any materials to build (we used to use resources on everything) and the new ways of having to grow the houses and not just giving it food and water until tier 2 or 3 and the only way to transport was just the roads now they have highways trains and boats
Bro, the roads! What was the dev's logic in these? The pathfinding and road mechanics would be so hard to code, I'm guessing the dev dug too deep and was like; it works, I'm never touching it again.
Hey Tyler! My favourite 2011 emoticon is XD -- not *solely* because I was told by The Youth Today that it was cringey, but I won't pretend that isn't a major component.
Ooooh, i loved watching orbital play this and now Im gifted with you playing it! But make sure to pace yourself so you dont burn out, youve been popping out so many videos this week
I think my favorite emoticon has to be pacman :v and xd/xD here in latin america they were used a lot and we still use them haha. This was really fun to watch btw, love the chaos of city that you have made. I think I was able to feel your strugle xD
Hi, I also prefer the olden days :) This game looks amazing, the tutorial is so impressive, and I will be getting this gem. Can’t wait to see the next episode with hopefully less spaghetti. ;)
Hello :) I love the colon smiley face lol, I’m watching at 4 am cause can’t sleep and when this happens I usually panic but your vids keep me calm so lol thx also I dont know if it’s you me or this game but the roads are sooo horrible for my little chipmunk brain
I think game would really benefit from making drivers limited and allowing road segments longer than 7 cells. Right now there is not much incentive to make road segments longer than 4 cells long.
The little circle between the road nodes is the driver. Olexa kept trying to connect a road to the driver. Don't worry I was confused af for a long time too
The sheer utter chaos, confusion, jumbling, nonsensical placing of everything... this is the PERFECT Olexa game.
Thanks so much for playing our game! we hope you enjoyed it!
Can you make the delete button easily accesible without me needing to press z, just sometimes want to play with only mouse

@@wullivieh yep, agree
And also he tried to connect every building to an end point of the road. Enormous mistake.
no way, they made dwarf fortress comprehensible
No way, we got slightly less autistic dwarf fortress before gta 6?!

Dude that QoL is insane I bet the Developers was an Ex-Professional UI/UX Designer
The office chair conversation go way too real for a moment 😂
" I ain't afraid of no city centers *Ghostbuster theme*", Absolutely Amazing
Favorite 2011 emoticon has to be Kirby.

My friend please, (>'-')>
The way tyler placed some buildings down triggered my ocd so bad

"Highways can't be connected to buildings."
*Immediately tries to connect a highway to a building*
o/ ^-^
Btw they're called :*: emoticons :*: and they're superior to emojis >:D
🤔I'm not entirely sure that applies to every possible situation
Yah I kinda agree I mean like I love the animals emojis but still
I like emoticons more
Hi :) My man I won't complain but this was the most chaotic whackiest way I've seen you play a game. The jankyness was out of this world!
Been playing this like mad since EA today. Its pretty fun trying to optimize, then demolishing everything as I hit milestones, then doing it again.

Me just shouting at my screen: "USE THE HIGHWAY! HIGHWAY! PLEASE! HIGHWAY!"

This game gives me Shapez vibes for sure. Interesting to see that kind of concept in a simplistic city-builder type game.
Beautiful crafted game, looks fun i'd watch more

it's about using the anchors, it's all in the handbook
Hi :D, so excited to see more of this game!
I'm 100% here for the digital zen garden energy coming off this game.
Also, :)
Hi :> love your cozy videos and I respect your personal hello and how you do these videos during your work is impressive ;)
Olexa is the ultimate version of those ads where a guy pretends to be terrible at a videogame

Very fun to watch =•) I really hope you post some more
You really do a great job at making us want to play the games by ourselves HAHAHAHAAH
I once heard Asmongold admitting he plays games badly so you go out and purchase the game out of spite to play it correctly and devs love him for it.
“Can I remove water??”. This game is bringing out Olexa’s eco-terrorism arc 😂
Hello, the road seem to be funky.
But, your missing water at the top, ouch
:)
just a tip, if you love this game, its basically just "The colonists" but without adorable robots, and kind of less content, but.. flat? so yay?
Kirby says hi

The old chair factory is the one that crafts those 2k dollar chairs.;)
Hi :3
I'm in a wooden dining chair and I would love to see more of this game
I swear I played this game but with different graphics five years ago. It was called the colonists.
Thanks for show casing a cool game

Hello, love the videos and actually just got the game after watching lol :3
hi back :-p
I recommend a game called Sixty Four, it's not a roguelike, but it seems to be your style and I found it very fun.
Love this game’s vibes. Also, hello :^)
Hi, I also prefer the olden days :)

Hey, olexa, keep up the good work❤
Hey man, you have to pick… either amazing U.I. Or roads that actually work
Hello :) I love the colon smiley face lol, I’m watching at 4 am cause can’t sleep and when this happens I usually panic but your vids keep me calm so lol thx also I dont know if it’s you me or this game but the roads are sooo horrible for my little chipmunk brain

Hello!! :) love the content (:
yeah we're gonna like this I can already tell
Hi my guy, I'm entertained ;P
Hello Olexa :)
Hallo :3 (I believe what you’re thinking of is ascii emojis)
UI is nice, roads are horrendous
I'm here still. ^_^
Hi back. :^)
hi back :) *waves* < 3
I want to buy this game
If you haven't played it already, I think you'd love Factory Town!
It’s soo good. Have played before!
cozy =]
Someone please explain the roads to me and Olexa... I cant handle it. We're clearly missing something. Save me
Something I learned in cities skylines: you got a congestion, or trouble with long and winding roads, the solution is not placing more and more roads
The little circle between the road nodes is the driver. Olexa kept trying to connect a road to the driver. Don't worry I was confused af for a long time too
Hi =)
Bro…. The roads were frustrating just to watch. The dev really needs to fix that
hi back =)
Hi, Ölenky :)

You were safe, don’t have this blocked
