i’m so glad that you made this!! the original video that introduced me to your channel was your first video riding all the lines, as i was searching for content like that, exploring subways. i’ve grown to really love all the other videos you upload, and i admire your dedication to subway exploration!!!!
Glad to know you've been around since the first subway video! I'm constantly thinking of transportation-related content -- bike rides, walking challenges, subway stuff... but I try to diversify my ideas to appeal to more people. That said, it seems that subway videos are a hit -- so maybe that's the way to go!
More facts about China subways: The people who over 60-64 years old are half price for riding. People over 65 years old are free for riding. All underground metro stations are air conditionined. All metro stations platform installed safety screens wall. Mobile signal are covered all metro systems. Some metro lines are running 160km/h. Pls, check Guangzhou metro line 18 and line 22 which are running 160km/h between some segments. The ridership in Guangzhou metro are 2.3 billion per year in recent years. That's the busiest metro in the world.
You're probably wrong about the 3rd point. In fact, some underground stations still have only installed platform gates, which means the platforms are half-open and probably not air-conditioned
How did I ever miss this comment? Thank YOU! Hopefully soon I'll hop back on a train for a new adventure (currently recovering from a knee injury so limited mobility).
My first time going this far out actually, but weird enough it wasn't as "rural" as I had imagined. There are more remote districts, where the subway network doesn't reach (but accessible by railway), which I'm hoping I'll visit some time soon.
Yanfang Line and Fangshan Line will be merged in the future. Chinese taxis are run by LP gas, so taxi driver may have to stop by gas station with long distance travel.
Only new York subway in the world Made express line . Because normal pople just use computer line . at this distance. it's too expensive to make 2 more tunnels just for the suburbs
@@carkawalakhatulistiwalots of Chinese cities have express lines now. It’s funny that Beijing and Shanghai are quite late to the league. This is because commuter rail was not a thing for China Railways group who focused mainly on long-distance travel. This is why many cities realized this and built high-speed metros and commuter rails themselves (eg including Shenzhen, Guangzhou, who runs not only express services but at high speeds up to 120 or 160 kph.
Hey Derek. I wanted to cross the longest distance between two stations on the Beijing Subway, and they happened to be these two: Yanshan in the SW and Fengbo in NE. I could have ended the trip in Yanshan (instead of starting from it) but this station is super far from where I live, that I wanted to get it over with ASAP. haha!
Problem with subway is it stops at every station. Only if there was a solution where for certain train it can skip some stops so that it can reach destination further away faster.
Guangzhou Metro lines 14, 18, and 21 have bypass tracks at stations and also run express services. In the tunnel segments between stations, there are only two tracks unlike New York which usually has 4 tracks running the entire length of the express segments. At stations however, the local trains merge onto a branch track that goes into the station instead of the express trains merging onto a bypass track, which enables the express trains to pass through without slowing down to switch tracks. The express tracks themselves also pass behind a wall of advertisements facing the station platforms, which is why you'd never actually see the express trains if you were standing on the platform at a stop for local trains only
Beijing Metro was amazing when I visited. Efficient, clean and quiet. Everything the dirty London Underground isn't. The London Underground doesn't even support mobile networks!

Generally, public transportation is cheap in china. It's a service. Some cities even have free public transport day for every weekends or once every month.
ive always wondered why line 14 has 6 cars with 5 doors on each car, line 6 and 7 have 4 doors on each car, and they both have 8 cars. like seriously, just go with the normal car design and don't go on about having new ideas for new lines.
Delhi metro pink line gonna be longest ring line 71.74 km surpass moscow line and line 10 of Beijing metro Right now delhi metro pink line is 59.24 km and last missing strech is 12.5 km under construction
the craziest thing is the price!! I can't believe the whole journey of 100+kms only cost 10 yuan? It's simply unimaginable here in Shenzhen...
How much is the fare in Shenzhen? The Beijing Subway fare ranges from 3 to 10 yuan, based on distance.
❤🇨🇳🌈☮️
¥14 i guess, from the very SE to the very NW. Not too expensive lol

Thanks for filming Houshayu, my home station!
Thank you for your effort with the video. It’s been very useful to see the lines on the map and you actually travelling on them.
Thank you! It was actually one of the funnest videos to film - and a favorite of mine to this day.

Haha! Glad you did.
Very nice journey!
I enjoyed it alot . Good work bruh and keep going.
100 km only cost about 1.5 us dollars unbelieveable. In NYC I think the subway fare is 3 dollars .
I LOOOVEE this videos !! :D Thank you !

wow 6th ring, you are quite out there in the country side, i guess. When I lived in china, there was just 4th ring road, I think.

It is true people in Beijing talk about long distance relationship even they live in the same city.
Haha. It's a big city.
it's probably because of work hours than distance, or combination of both.
very nice indeed
Thank you!
Isn't it physically a longer straight line distance from Daxing airport to the Changping West Mountain Entrance station?
Excuse me you paid what? 🤯🤯🤯🤯it can never be my country
Beijing needs to speed up building express metro now.
Only new York subway in the world Made express line . Because normal pople just use computer line . at this distance. it's too expensive to make 2 more tunnels just for the suburbs
Line 19 just opened this year, similar route with line 4, much fewer stations. Line 17 is about to open.

Last you transfer the final line of Line 15
I see you are a metro fan. China is a good place for you just in this aspect.
Well made video! Is there a reason you started on the bottom left of the subway map?

Only new York subway do that 😂. You just use computer rel. For faster not use metro.

What is the total length of Beijing subway ?? 1000km ??
Almost. Total length was 807 km by March 2023. The network is hitting 1000 km in 2025.
Fangshan line and Yanfang line are both orange though, actually the orange color of Yanfang is a little darker😂
He knows all in china
good job
Thanks Fei!

I don't think everyone else was doing the same adventure :(
Probably not...
I want to pay a $2000 round trip flight to take advantage of the $2 subway fares.
First is you transfer Yangfang
Im Lebanese born in Connecticut. What do u do in China? , besides ride the subway aimlessly
Good to know. Big Lebanese community in Connecticut? I work in Beijing.
