I am an American of Chinese decent. Every time I go to Chinese, China never ceased to amaze me. My last trip to China in September , with my Caucasian wife, she was speechless, realizing how wrong the western media portrayed China. It was the first time she saw China. I admire Cyrus for his works to open the truth about China. The truth will promote understanding and peace to the world.
I'm a white Ukrainian guy from the USA, I went to China the first time back in 2009 and it was incredible, however I went back again to Shanghai in 2018 and I was blown away even from just 2009 to 2018 less than 10 years so much has changed. I explain it to American friends that it's like traveling 10-20 years into the future when you step off the airplane, there is construction everywhere, state of the art technology everywhere. To me it's the clear difference between unfettered capitalism in the USA and focused Socialism in China. With my family being from Ukraine I don't think things were perfect in the USSR either but we actually saw massive growth and improvement and people were taken care of. Things are much much worse today...
@@-Zevin- The driverless cars, robot servers, and drone deliveries were introduced after 2018, so you'll see another major change in China if you go again today. There are literally major advancements every 5 years.

Nothing wrong with being humble. In fact, being humble is a virtue. Having said that, I disagree with Chinese's traditional perspective of humbleness. To me, Chinese's traditional understanding of humbleness is actually false modesty. 谦卑本来是个美德，可是从中国人的传统思想，中国人对谦卑的理解其实是虚假的谦虚，这也导致了很多中国人容易感到自卑。想想看，为什么人家夸我们的时候我们一般的反应是贬低自己，而不是单纯地接受赞扬？为什么说出自己的成就表示我们骄傲，而不是表示自信和自己对自己的实力的认可呢？个人觉得谦卑是美德，问题是在于中国人对它的理解。不过我对新一代的中国人感到乐观，他们能察觉到这个问题所以在做变化。非常棒！
Second generation Indian-American here. My family comes from the "world's largest democracy" where we still have horrendous poverty and women are fearful of being outside even in broad daylight. "Democracy" nowadays is a term to make the Western world feel superior about themselves. Look at the USA where in 2 of the last 5 elections, the politician with less votes ended up winning the presidency. My friends have had the pleasure of visiting Shanghai and they were beyond impressed. In major Chinese cities, you see ultra-modern looking skyscrapers and train stations, but it goes more than that. You see women walking and cycling by themselves late at night. You see small children take the metro train system by themselves on their way to school. You see people leaving their doors unlocked and their belongings outside their houses. You see upscale luxury stores put some of their expensive items on display behind a transparent glass wall and no one from outside would break the glass and steal them. Now ask yourself this? Would this ever work in India... or the USA... or even in the majority of European countries? China's incredible industrialization and development isn't because of their authoritarian government, but because of their social culture and mentality. Indians are excellent at talking the talk, but the Chinese are excellent at walking the walk. Before any Indians reading this become angry, please note that I've been to India a couple times and still enjoy the country. However we need to be real with ourselves and accept the fact that China has already left the developing world in the dust, and it's only a matter of time they will leave the developed world in the dust.

As a tourist in China, I always feel very safe walking anywhere in China unlike when I was in the US wondering when will I be robbed, mugged or shot. I had many bad experiences in New York, LA and San Franm. No more US trips for me, not even for free.
I'm an Indian Canadian, been here for the past 40 years. In the 40 years that I have been here Canada was way developed than China. But in the past 40 years China has grown head and shoulders above Canada and it's safe to say any of the other G7 nations. And they are still growing by leaps and bounds. Ppl will talk lots of smack about the US and China, but ultimately now in 2024 we can all see the trajectory....China will overtake the US and become the next superpower. It's kinda expected tho...every 100 years or so superpowers rise and fall. For all the reasons you have mentioned I agree the US is declining and also China currently has lots of problems, but nothing that cannot be resolved, they have all the tools and they are putting all of them to good use. India is not even a remote comparison to China. We are far far behind. Ppl reading this will disagree, but take a min are ask how useful is space exploration when all the roads have holes in them and all the infrastructure is in utter shambles. And more importantly women do not feel safe even in the day time. In a race China is the leader and India is in the last place.
So well presented Cyrus, as I've mentioned before we arrived at a very similar time in China (first visit was August 2006). I returned to the US as I was working there and returned to China in April 2007. The changes I've seen over the last 17 plus years have been astonishing, from the growth of the highspeed railway to the expantion of various infrastructure projects from bridges to highways and more recently the growth of digital payment services throughout the nation. I look back at my 16 years in the US with some fondness but now with a deep concern over the decline of the countries economy and it's self destructive behaviour towards China. Continuing the theme I have a similar fear over the state of society in the UK as knife and gun murders appear to be on a continual rise. Many of my friends on both sides of the Atlantic are complaining that the cost of utilities, groceries and daily necessities are constantly increasing for them. Living here is much more comfortable in so many ways from the cost of living to the convenience of transportation. Of course it's not all moonlight and roses, the economy here is hurting a little too, jobs for some graduates are a bit more scarce and buisnesses in general are struggling somewhat, but in contrast new business ventures are popping up everywhere not just in the larger/richer cities like Shanghai and Beijing. As good example of how the government, both national and local build infrastructure for the people is the city I'm living in Jiaxing. Small by Chinese standards with ony 5.4 million, but even within a 15 minute walk of our apartment the local government has renoovated an older area of a canal side featuring water town architecture and turned it into a shopping and retail area, with a Pizza Hut, KFC, Starbucks, Luckin Coffee, a movie theatre, hotel, and various other restaraunts and shops, utilizing an otherwise abandoned area of the city.
I don’t comment much on UA-cam videos I watch but I have to here. I’m an American (of Filipino descent) currently living in China for a little over 2yrs. EVERYTHING Cyrus says on this video echos my every thoughts and feelings about China. EVERYTHING!! I love living here in China. It’s such a modern place. I feel incredibly safe no matter what time of day or evening I’m out and about. I unfortunately don’t speak Mandarin. Know very very basic words. I rely mainly on the translation app to communicate with the locals that don’t speak English and I must say, they’re very very patient, friendly, and helpful helping people like me. 😊❤️. I Love my experiences thus far and love living in China. Plus, I travel around China a lot and am in awe of the wonders and beautiful places and historical places there is to see and experience. Ones needs to see it, experience it, live it, before one can judge.
Cyrus, I was afraid to go to China, after listening to Western media negativity towards this great country. Once I visited China, my views changed, but I also released how my own government could manipulate its citizens. I will be going back next year to Xian, to see the Terracotta Army.

Left China recently because my projects had been completed in Shanghai, and returned US. My kids did not want to leave China at all. They were born in Canada. But fell in love with Shanghai and said they want to go back. China is so safe, food is amazing, city so modernized, highway and high speed train bring you to another city in 30 mins. As a Chinese, I am proud. Wish China all good, and wait for opportunity to go back.❤
A serious question. I assumed that your kids are second generation Chinese born in Canada. If they are interested to return to live in China, (ie. return to their roots) , does China have an avenue to allow them to seek citizenship? Or at least a PR?

@@mingni6618 I keep hearing the notion that "China should be more open to the world" when in fact, looking back at history, China has been open to the world since Deng Xiaoping's reforms and even before that during the imperial era. But whenever China opens up to the world, she gets invaded and taken advantage of (Opium War, Japanese betrayal, ingratitude from refugees, etc.) China has been traumatized because of this and is now more cautious and conservative, rightfully so! Would I love for China to be more accessible for foreigners? As a foreigner myself, of course! But China is actually a more open society than that of, for example, Japan that appears to be open but actually not as embracing and accepting than its Chinese counterpart.
I have lived in China for 12 years as a teacher and I couldn't agree more with Cyrus. I 've been sharing my China life experience with my Canadian and French friends/family promoting it in the same fashion Cyrus is doing it. They (friends/family) are slowly coming out of their western-influenced/ skewed opinions cocoon .

Just got back, Friday 11-Oct, from a 5 week trip to China. I have a 27 year commercial and matrimonial history with China. Only a cash society when I first came, no ATM, queing at the bank only.This trip I never touched any cash, all payment on phone with Alipay. All Taxis and urban buses are EVs.

I'm a Chinese Canadian, and I have been living in China for the past 13 years. If I weren't to unite with my family in Canada, I would live my entire life in China and not return to Canada. Our prime minister Trudeau had failed Canada, making our country a dangerous place, with gun crimes happening every day. It's sad to see that a "democratic" country has such bad governing.

I am Chinese Canadian living in Vancouver for 25 years. Western societies only equate election with democracy but this kind of democracy lacks its essence in recent years in the sense that the governments seem indifferent to the concerns of most people. Sometimes I think China is even more democratic at least the government is willing to address the needs of its people.

China did make great progress but with the current economic crisis, China is the example of what the disadvantages are when a nation is ruled by one party system. Thanx to Xi they will not even come near the potential of the west. All the industrial advantages are now unusable with the tensions and the tariffs and the downturn of foreign investment. It’s nu longer a multi faction pragmatic communist party but a one man show. The middle income trap will only be solved if there is political reform. Chinese consumer lack the consumption power to consume all that is produced and the west is increasingly protecting itself against the dumping of overcapacity of the Chinese industry
China the sleeping dragon and with tongue out. To write a novel you just need to change the name and let the author do the story telling. In more than 100 examples , to defeat dragon you just need a random person or a prince to save the princess. To give a clue to the reader how unique your writing is, is to change those paths and create new paths. Collective intelligence for example is needed not only 1 man but 8 man to defeat a dragon or maybe add 2 mage women for the twist, don't underestimate women this days they can rule entire country. More twist needed to see the perfect plot of the plan. Those who read the story must not forget and always pass the knowledge and understanding how story works, it works with magic.
Cyrus I watch your videos because your opinions on China duplicate mine. I am an Australian that has lived in Shanghai for 21 years but I travel back to my home country and many other countries regularly. I find positive Chinese news impossible find in Western media. This shocks me when you consider the huge advances China takes in areas of science, green energy and transport. When I first saw Shanghai 22 years ago I thought to myself I had no idea how amazing this place was because no one told me - plus the people are just wonderful. When I travel outside China I secretly say to myself how the West feels old in comparison. The only way to understand and appreciate China is to go to China. People like you can fully appreciate the stark difference between Western media's presentation of China compared with the reality because we see it. Keep up the good work.

No country on earth has transformed like China in the history of mankind. My first visit was 1994 and subsequently every 3 years. Not only infras but the education, behaviour, mentality of its people. A country that is modern, safe, peaceful, prosperous and full of hopes.
Singapore will do better if it is closer to China. English is the language of Singapore because it was the business language. Similarly mandarin should be the compulsary language of Singapore.

@@zhugeliang3905 What's interesting was that when I first came to America, my parents were poor so we lived in downtown Washington DC and I went to an all-black elementary school. Everyone in that school came up to greet me and my brother. Soon everyone knew our name and they even wanted to learn our language (Vietnamese). But a year later, we moved to the suburbs with white kids and none ever wanted to know us.
I really enjoyed the video. I am a South African that has emigrated to Australia. The current government in Australia have done nothing to alleviate the cost of living for all Australians. All through my life I have always had Chinese friends even when South Africa segregated them during the apartheid years. I find , as you have said, the Chinese to be friendly, respectful and kind. If I could afford it, I would move to China permanently to be amongst people who have the same values. Keep up the good work please. Kind regards
I spent 2 weeks in China about 20 years ago and visited many cities, but most of my time was spent in Shanghai and Beijing. I was blown away how modern and clean it was. The people were extremely friendly and helpful and it was a wonderful experience. This was an excellent video and very informative and I couldn't agree more with Cyrus.
I am a canadian and very disappointed with our lack of progress. It is hopeless that we are chasing our tails. I don't see how we have the courage to trash China, more like arrogance.

Trudeau has been in charge for 10 years, only about 30% actually voted for him...his approval rating has been at a historical low for years, he passed laws in Canada that were more authoritarian than China but people will just look at the fact Canada is a "liberal democracy" and forget the rest

If you gave me a choice , live in US or China , I wouldn’t even need to think about it. It’s a no brainer, I’m not blind and have been to China numerous times and each time you realize they have done something or built something, it’s improving all the time. That to me is real progress. The 21sr century definitely belongs to China and deservingly so.
@@jacklan4103 I have moved to Guangzhou , China and enjoying the most amazing quality of life. I can afford a maid here. I have a handyman to fix anything in the house on call. I have food delivery, grocery delivery, online shopping delivery , cab hailing etc. My neighborhood cafe charges US2 for an Americano coffee and is dog friendly ( I can even afford to have 2dogs ). I bought a great TV & sound system for US10k that wld have costs me US25k. So many things here are so much cheaper and better quality. Oh all cabs here are EVs, so pollution is much lower. I can walk out my door anytime at night with my dogs without any fear of getting mugged. The entire neighborhood is so clean and organized. Oh I can get all kinds of delicious food 24/7 either delivered to my door or at various restaurants. If I take a cab to my fav restaurant, it costs US2 , you heard right. So I won’t be going back to live 1000%.
@@jacklan4103 Everything is made here - clothing , electrical appliances , EVs, furniture, lighting , kitchen appliances, bathroom fittings, smart toilets , footwear , eyewear etc etc etc. You don’t even need to go to a mall ( they have many ) , just online shopping and it’s done. American cities have not been safe for a long time. In the late 80s, I was doing an internship in Washington D.C. And I was told not to go out on the street in certain areas because it was not safe. And that included an area near the US Congress. And that was during working hours. And today I still hear the same thing.
DC still ranks high on the most dangerous list. Contractors are having a boom there into fairfax county. Did not seem like any middle class left. The beltway brats live in a bubble and never visit the poor NE and SE parts. Probably most of its visitors do not either so it hasn't garnered the rep in the US public's mind it deserves.
China's a great country, been there twice, I like that the elderly gather in big groups and practice tai chi in the park, and old guys sit and play chess too, beautiful, and so much more relaxed than the West.
I am a Chinese who has lived in Europe for 10 years before I returned home last year, the oversea experiences has made me love my country even more, China is a massive country with best infrastructure, safe environment and 56 ethnic minorities live together in harmony, you just showed it again, thank you Cyrus !

I lived in China for few years and I can confirm your opinion - the Chinese are hardworking, incredibly capable, innovative, very friendly and willing to help. In my opinion, it is the most normal country to live in, safe, well-organized and takes care of its citizens. As long as someone does not seek to overthrow the system and does not have separatist tendencies, they can feel really free. That is why you see people there smiling, happy, joyful and enjoying life. These people do not fear for their future, they are aware that the government cares about their well-being. China may not be a country without problems, but compared to Western countries, and especially to the USA and Canada, it is a country where people have hope. Only Western countries may create troubles for them, especially the United States, trying to maintain their hegemony with full awareness that their time has passed. Unfortunately, the colonial mentality has remained in their nature.

I just spent 9 days vacation in Guang Xi and I’ve been amazed by the progress and the development made in China. Apart from the amazing scenery, places are clean and the infrastructure is well developed! Thanks to the e-vehicle, you can enjoy the cities so much better! As an Aussie that spends a lot of his time in China I can say that Cyrus is 100% correct. It's a great county with lovely people. Who knows what goes on at the highest levels of politics but whatever it is their society generally is brilliant.
It's a bit funny that the very same people that are worried about the Chinese High speed trains loosing money, they are totally okay with giving lots of money to wars around the world.
What would happen if US companies in China, like Apple, KFC, Nike, that cheesecake shop, were all told to pack their bags? Because if USA pushes China hard enough, these companies may well suffer. USA should well remember the expression, "you made your bed, now lie in it" or "you sow what your reap".
That would be the wrong strategy, China is smart, it doesn't have to send these corporations packing, U$ govt is doing a good job taxing these corporations, at some point these profit driven corporations will simply move locations for good.
I'm a South African living in Shanghai for 6 years. I can echo these points of yours. I was very nervous moving here but was completely surprised as everything the Western media portrays about China is completely wrong. As a Malaysian born Chinese who still has family in China, im proud of my own country of birth and have no desire to live anywhere else in the world. But saying that, I cannot help but be impressed by China's progress. I first visited in 2008 and have made several more trips since then, not just to cities, but also rural areas. I hope governments can find a way to work together because like what Cyrus said, people are just people no matter where they come from.

I have never had the opportunity to visit China but I had a 37 year executive career with the state of Washington and from 1997 to 2005 our governor was Gary Locke born in America to Chinese immigrants. He was the most focused and get things done leader of all the governors of the State of Washington I had the pleasure to serve under, I can easily imagine what China offers its people.

I first went to China in 1977 and in 1992 had a 12 month stint at teaching English at WFLMS, I earlier had the opportunity of learning Chinese Language from my son's mother. All of the opinions expressed in this video are facts! I Iived in Shanghai for a total of 10 years and loved the opportunities, work experiences, freedom, support and love that I experienced. I am an American of Chinese decent. Every time I go to Chinese, China never ceased to amaze me. My last trip to China in September , with my Caucasian wife, she was speechless, realizing how wrong the western media portrayed China. It was the first time she saw China. I admire Cyrus for his works to open the truth about China. The truth will promote understanding and peace to the world.
I'm a white Ukrainian guy from the USA, I went to China the first time back in 2009 and it was incredible, however I went back again to Shanghai in 2018 and I was blown away even from just 2009 to 2018 less than 10 years so much has changed. I explain it to American friends that it's like traveling 10-20 years into the future when you step off the airplane, there is construction everywhere, state of the art technology everywhere.
To me it's the clear difference between unfettered capitalism in the USA and focused Socialism in China. With my family being from Ukraine I don't think things were perfect in the USSR either but we actually saw massive growth and improvement and people were taken care of. Things are much much worse today...

Second generation Indian-American here. My family comes from the "world's largest democracy" where we still have horrendous poverty and women are fearful of being outside even in broad daylight. "Democracy" nowadays is a term to make the Western world feel superior about themselves. Look at the USA where in 2 of the last 5 elections, the politician with less votes ended up winning the presidency. My friends have had the pleasure of visiting Shanghai and they were beyond impressed. In major Chinese cities, you see ultra-modern looking skyscrapers and train stations, but it goes more than that. You see women walking and cycling by themselves late at night. You see small children take the metro train system by themselves on their way to school. You see people leaving their doors unlocked and their belongings outside their houses. You see upscale luxury stores put some of their expensive items on display behind a transparent glass wall and no one from outside would break the glass and steal them. Now ask yourself this? Would this ever work in India... or the USA... or even in the majority of European countries? China's incredible industrialization and development isn't because of their authoritarian government, but because of their social culture and mentality. Indians are excellent at talking the talk, but the Chinese are excellent at walking the walk. Before any Indians reading this become angry, please note that I've been to India a couple times and still enjoy the country. However we need to be real with ourselves and accept the fact that China has already left the developing world in the dust, and it's only a matter of time they will leave the developed world in the dust.

As a tourist in China, I always feel very safe walking anywhere in China unlike when I was in the US wondering when will I be robbed, mugged or shot. I had many bad experiences in New York, LA and San Franm. No more US trips for me, not even for free.

I'm an Indian Canadian, been here for the past 40 years. In the 40 years that I have been here Canada was way developed than China. But in the past 40 years China has grown head and shoulders above Canada and it's safe to say any of the other G7 nations. And they are still growing by leaps and bounds. Ppl will talk lots of smack about the US and China, but ultimately now in 2024 we can all see the trajectory....China will overtake the US and become the next superpower. It's kinda expected tho...every 100 years or so superpowers rise and fall. For all the reasons you have mentioned I agree the US is declining and also China currently has lots of problems, but nothing that cannot be resolved, they have all the tools and they are putting all of them to good use. India is not even a remote comparison to China. We are far far behind. Ppl reading this will disagree, but take a min are ask how useful is space exploration when all the roads have holes in them and all the infrastructure is in utter shambles. And more importantly women do not feel safe even in the day time. In a race China is the leader and India is in the last place.
India can not even be compared to China. China will be number 1. India's GDP is less than Bangladesh. India is not superpower. It will never be.

So well presented Cyrus, as I've mentioned before we arrived at a very similar time in China (first visit was August 2006). I returned to the US as I was working there and returned to China in April 2007. The changes I've seen over the last 17 plus years have been astonishing, from the growth of the highspeed railway to the expantion of various infrastructure projects from bridges to highways and more recently the growth of digital payment services throughout the nation. I look back at my 16 years in the US with some fondness but now with a deep concern over the decline of the countries economy and it's self destructive behaviour towards China. Continuing the theme I have a similar fear over the state of society in the UK as knife and gun murders appear to be on a continual rise. Many of my friends on both sides of the Atlantic are complaining that the cost of utilities, groceries and daily necessities are constantly increasing for them. Living here is much more comfortable in so many ways from the cost of living to the convenience of transportation. Of course it's not all moonlight and roses, the economy here is hurting a little too, jobs for some graduates are a bit more scarce and buisnesses in general are struggling somewhat, but in contrast new business ventures are popping up everywhere not just in the larger/richer cities like Shanghai and Beijing. As good example of how the government, both national and local build infrastructure for the people is the city I'm living in Jiaxing. Small by Chinese standards with ony 5.4 million, but even within a 15 minute walk of our apartment the local government has renoovated an older area of a canal side featuring water town architecture and turned it into a shopping and retail area, with a Pizza Hut, KFC, Starbucks, Luckin Coffee, a movie theatre, hotel, and various other restaraunts and shops, utilizing an otherwise abandoned area of the city.
I don’t comment much on UA-cam videos I watch but I have to here. I’m an American (of Filipino descent) currently living in China for a little over 2yrs. EVERYTHING Cyrus says on this video echos my every thoughts and feelings about China. EVERYTHING!! I love living here in China. It’s such a modern place. I feel incredibly safe no matter what time of day or evening I’m out and about. I unfortunately don’t speak Mandarin. Know very very basic words. I rely mainly on the translation app to communicate with the locals that don’t speak English and I must say, they’re very very patient, friendly, and helpful helping people like me. 😊❤️. I Love my experiences thus far and love living in China. Plus, I travel around China a lot and am in awe of the wonders and beautiful places and historical places there is to see and experience. Ones needs to see it, experience it, live it, before one can judge.
Cyrus, I was afraid to go to China, after listening to Western media negativity towards this great country. Once I visited China, my views changed, but I also released how my own government could manipulate its citizens. I will be going back next year to Xian, to see the Terracotta Army.

Thank you for sharing this great insight of China. I am a Chinese, and lived in Canada, US and last 6 years in China. Left China recently because my projects had been completed in Shanghai, and returned US. My kids did not want to leave China at all. They were born in Canada. But fell in love with Shanghai and said they want to go back. China is so safe, food is amazing, city so modernized, highway and high speed train bring you to another city in 30 mins. As a Chinese, I am proud. Wish China all good, and wait for opportunity to go back.❤
A serious question. I assumed that your kids are second generation Chinese born in Canada. If they are interested to return to live in China, (ie. return to their roots) , does China have an avenue to allow them to seek citizenship? Or at least a PR?

@@mingni6618 I keep hearing the notion that "China should be more open to the world" when in fact, looking back at history, China has been open to the world since Deng Xiaoping's reforms and even before that during the imperial era. But whenever China opens up to the world, she gets invaded and taken advantage of (Opium War, Japanese betrayal, ingratitude from refugees, etc.) China has been traumatized because of this and is now more cautious and conservative, rightfully so! Would I love for China to be more accessible for foreigners? As a foreigner myself, of course! But China is actually a more open society than that of, for example, Japan that appears to be open but actually not as embracing and accepting than its Chinese counterpart.
I was in China for a month this year and agree with Cyrus completely…a wonderful country.

I 've been sharing my China life experience with my Canadian and French friends/family promoting it in the same fashion Cyrus is doing it. Just got back, Friday 11-Oct, from a 5 week trip to China. I have a 27 year commercial and matrimonial history with China.
Only a cash society when I first came, no ATM, queing at the bank only.This trip I never touched any cash, all payment on phone with Alipay. All Taxis and urban buses are EVs.

I'm a Chinese Canadian, and I have been living in China for the past 13 years. If I weren't to unite with my family in Canada, I would live my entire life in China and not return to Canada. Our prime minister Trudeau had failed Canada, making our country a dangerous place, with gun crimes happening every day. It's sad to see that a "democratic" country has such bad governing.

I am Chinese Canadian living in Vancouver for 25 years. Western societies only equate election with democracy but this kind of democracy lacks its essence in recent years in the sense that the governments seem indifferent to the concerns of most people. Sometimes I think China is even more democratic at least the government is willing to address the needs of its people.

China did make great progress but with the current economic crisis, China is the example of what the disadvantages are when a nation is ruled by one party system. Thanx to Xi they will not even come near the potential of the west. All the industrial advantages are now unusable with the tensions and the tariffs and the downturn of foreign investment. It’s nu longer a multi faction pragmatic communist party but a one man show. The middle income trap will only be solved if there is political reform. In more than 100 examples , to defeat dragon you just need a random person or a prince to save the princess. To give a clue to the reader how unique your writing is, is to change those paths and create new paths. Collective intelligence for example is needed not only 1 man but 8 man to defeat a dragon or maybe add 2 mage women for the twist, don't underestimate women this days they can rule entire country. More twist needed to see the perfect plot of the plan. Those who read the story must not forget and always pass the knowledge and understanding how story works, it works with magic.

Cyrus I watch your videos because your opinions on China duplicate mine. I am an Australian that has lived in Shanghai for 21 years but I travel back to my home country and many other countries regularly. I find positive Chinese news impossible find in Western media. This shocks me when you consider the huge advances China takes in areas of science, green energy and transport. When I first saw Shanghai 22 years ago I thought to myself I had no idea how amazing this place was because no one told me - plus the people are just wonderful. When I travel outside China I secretly say to myself how the West feels old in comparison. The only way to understand and appreciate China is to go to China. People like you can fully appreciate the stark difference between Western media's presentation of China compared with the reality because we see it. Keep up the good work.

No country on earth has transformed like China in the history of mankind. My first visit was 1994 and subsequently every 3 years. Not only infras but the education, behaviour, mentality of its people. A country that is modern, safe, peaceful, prosperous and full of hopes.

Everyone in that school came up to greet me and my brother.
Soon everyone knew our name and they even wanted to learn our language (Vietnamese).
But a year later, we moved to the suburbs with white kids and none ever wanted to know us.
I really enjoyed the video. I am a South African that has emigrated to Australia. The current government in Australia have done nothing to alleviate the cost of living for all Australians. All through my life I have always had Chinese friends even when South Africa segregated them during the apartheid years. I find , as you have said, the Chinese to be friendly, respectful and kind. If I could afford it, I would move to China permanently to be amongst people who have the same values.

I spent 2 weeks in China about 20 years ago and visited many cities, but most of my time was spent in Shanghai and Beijing. I was blown away how modern and clean it was. The people were extremely friendly and helpful and it was a wonderful experience.
This was an excellent video and very informative and I couldn't agree more with Cyrus.
I am a canadian and very disappointed with our lack of progress. It is hopeless that we are chasing our tails. I don't see how we have the courage to trash China, more like arrogance.

It’s a no brainer, I’m not blind and have been to China numerous times and each time you realize they have done something or built something, it’s improving all the time. That to me is real progress. @@jacklan4103 I have moved to Guangzhou , China and enjoying the most amazing quality of life. I can afford a maid here. I have a handyman to fix anything in the house on call. I have food delivery, grocery delivery, online shopping delivery , cab hailing etc. My neighborhood cafe charges US2 for an Americano coffee and is dog friendly ( I can even afford to have 2dogs ). I bought a great TV & sound system for US10k that wld have costs me US25k. So many things here are so much cheaper and better quality. Oh all cabs here are EVs, so pollution is much lower. I can walk out my door anytime at night with my dogs without any fear of getting mugged. The entire neighborhood is so clean and organized. Oh I can get all kinds of delicious food 24/7 either delivered to my door or at various restaurants. If I take a cab to my fav restaurant, it costs US2 , you heard right. So I won’t be going back to live 1000%.

American cities have not been safe for a long time. In the late 80s, I was doing an internship in Washington D.C. And I was told not to go out on the street in certain areas because it was not safe. And that included an area near the US Congress. And that was during working hours. And today I still hear the same thing.
DC still ranks high on the most dangerous list. Contractors are having a boom there into fairfax county. Did not seem like any middle class left. The beltway brats live in a bubble and never visit the poor NE and SE parts. Probably most of its visitors do not either so it hasn't garnered the rep in the US public's mind it deserves.
China's a great country, been there twice, I like that the elderly gather in big groups and practice tai chi in the park, and old guys sit and play chess too, beautiful, and so much more relaxed than the West.

I lived in China for few years and I can confirm your opinion - the Chinese are hardworking, incredibly capable, innovative, very friendly and willing to help. In my opinion, it is the most normal country to live in, safe, well-organized and takes care of its citizens. As long as someone does not seek to overthrow the system and does not have separatist tendencies, they can feel really free. That is why you see people there smiling, happy, joyful and enjoying life. These people do not fear for their future, they are aware that the government cares about their well-being. China may not be a country without problems, but compared to Western countries, and especially to the USA and Canada, it is a country where people have hope. Only Western countries may create troubles for them, especially the United States, trying to maintain their hegemony with full awareness that their time has passed. Unfortunately, the colonial mentality has remained in their nature.

As an Aussie that spends a lot of his time in China I can say that Cyrus is 100% correct. It's a great county with lovely people. Who knows what goes on at the highest levels of politics but whatever it is their society generally is brilliant.

What would happen if US companies in China, like Apple, KFC, Nike, that cheesecake shop, were all told to pack their bags? Because if USA pushes China hard enough, these companies may well suffer. USA should well remember the expression, "you made your bed, now lie in it" or "you sow what your reap".
That would be the wrong strategy, China is smart, it doesn't have to send these corporations packing, U$ govt is doing a good job taxing these corporations, at some point these profit driven corporations will simply move locations for good.

As a Malaysian born Chinese who still has family in China, im proud of my own country of birth and have no desire to live anywhere else in the world. But saying that, I cannot help but be impressed by China's progress. I first visited in 2008 and have made several more trips since then, not just to cities, but also rural areas. I hope governments can find a way to work together because like what Cyrus said, people are just people no matter where they come from.

I have never had the opportunity to visit China but I had a 37 year executive career with the state of Washington and from 1997 to 2005 our governor was Gary Locke born in America to Chinese immigrants. He was the most focused and get things done leader of all the governors of the State of Washington I had the pleasure to serve under, I can easily imagine what China offers its people.

I first went to China in 1977 and in 1992 had a 12 month stint at teaching English at WFLMS, I earlier had the opportunity of learning Chinese Language from my son's mother. All of the opinions expressed in this video are facts! I Iived in Shanghai for a total of 10 years and loved the opportunities, work experiences, freedom, support and love that I experienced. We'll go back next January and I can't wait for the freedoms and family love that I experience from my Shanghai wife. She's so supportive and loving. The Shanghainese are so lovely.

You should visit soon but to see the Chinese miracle (which was massive international money for labor) you'd have to have visited about 10 years ago.
