  • Ok Guys! Here it is - my soap room tour! This is still a bit of a work in progress, but honestly, I don't think it will ever be finished🤣
My cabinets came from Lowes - the cheapest they had to offer with a jack ton of layers of paint / back and side countertops came from Lowes or Menards in the discount sections
My main work countertop is from IKEA
My slat walls came from Menards
My husband hung all of my open shelfs - they are simply some 1x8 or 1x10 or 1x12 boards pained with simple L brackets
Most of my other shelving came from barn sales or hand me downs
My son Chase made my soap drying rack - it is an Ana White design - www.ana-white.com/woodworking...
My clear containers and squirt bottles are listed below. The smaller little bottles came from Dollar Tree (hard to find for me)
My containers for butters, stearic acid and E-wax came from Walmart as well as my baskets
I hope you enjoyed this video, if you did, please consider hitting the like and subscribe buttons. That will really help my channel grow. Thanks!

Thank you! Wow! Menard's? Minnesota? Love your videos! I love seeing videos on storage ideas and how rooms are set to work more efficiently. My poor husband! I use basically our whole house as I'm a multi crafter. Your space looks so well organized. We just got this place and so I'm still working on how things work out best in each space. What a challenge, especially in an extremely fixed budget. I love your color pallet also and you have me some wonderful ideas! Your video, BTW, was not too long. It was enjoyable. But now I feel like I need to do some more organizing! 😂!

Thanks Darice!! That's funny about you taking the whole house - I just took over ANOTHER room haha - my husband said "you might as well use it" and I ran with it LOL... Have fun organizing hehe

I am so jealous of your studio space! It's so clean and organized. I really need to get my office and garage studio in shape.
    LOVE those slat wall shelves!
And the video wasn't too long or anything. I'm sitting here weaving in what feels like a million ends on a striped blanket I knitted, so it was nice to have it playing while I work on this.

Don't be too jealous...I cleaned it up good for this video LOL - usually I have several projects going on all of the countertops! But yes, I think I have a bit of an organizing addiction. I enjoy it so much. I'm jealous of your knitting! That sounds wonderful. I tried to teach myself how to knit and crochet at one point in my life but decided I needed to move on from that - but I still get a little twinge every so often of wanting to learn.

Tammy that was a great veiw of your production area! I love these kind of videos, as I always try and take something from everyone and learn new ideas. You made me pause when you talked about having to account for financially your space for storing products and supplies. As you said you had two of everything organic/non-organic! Yeah, well I was shocked, but then sighed with relief that it didn't fit my senario, because ALL my facial products are made with organic products, but they are by far my biggest sellers and my most expensive. It did make me reassess other products though, so must deal with some of those, lol! I love the soap curing rack that Chase made you, Id put a epoxy resin top on it. I'm getting ready to do all my counter syrfaces that way. I understand having several rooms/areas to run your business. When I first started, it was an 8X10 are, boy have things changed. I'll be glad to fix up the 12X20 ft. building my husband bought me. It will give me back 3 out of the 4 rooms in my house that have been taken over by my business! Hey, I may actually get to really live in those spaces!
    Jill

Hey Jill! I'm so jealous of your building! That sounds so awesome (happy for you friend!) What in the world will you do with all of those rooms!?! 😂😂😂 - I love the resin top idea, I will do that if I ever do my other countertops. I hadn't thought about doing it on the rack but have wanted to do my kitchen countertops forever. Let me know how yours turn out. I absolutely love the look of it and have watched way more videos of it than I probably should have LOL .

You have so many silicone molds! Good advice. However, I still find organic products more effective, despite their cost of production. You are organized!

I just saw this vid...you've probably already found a solution, but my mind (which loves a puzzle) had to contribute the following dilemma where your plastic containers are on your old wooden shelf.
    😊😊
Move the DL - Panthenol to sit atop the Glycerin Stearate. Move the Caffeine Powder to sit atop the Cetearyl Alcohol. Boom....now you have a spot for the BTMS!

Hi Mel! Thanks so much for your suggestion. It makes sense in a space organization way, but I was trying to keep "like items" together. But honestly, I like your way better. I don't need to keep like items on the same shelve or corner as long as I have my labels out to where I can easily see what it is...You have me rethinking my whole organization on that shelf! (in a good way!)😂💖

I don't think I mentioned it in this video but this was my son's room. I gave him a year to move back in before I took it over, just in case he needed it. I should have known better hehe, we was not coming back to our little town. Now I am trying very hard not to take over the whole house 😂

I found your tour very interesting. I starting soaping 6-7 years ago and I cannot believe how much space it takes to store everything. It is a crazy hobby for me!! I have so many molds so I loved your idea of marking the bottom so you can tell what kind of fruit. How do you keep your carpet clean? I am so messy-my floor has to be moped constantly. Thanks for sharing

    • @WalnutCreekBathBoutique
      @WalnutCreekBathBoutique  2 роки тому

Thanks Ann! Honestly the floor is a huge struggle for me. I have stained it like crazy. I have to vacuum all the time and I have Service Master come out at least once a year to clean it. The problem is, the carpet is glued to the cement floor. To rip it up we would have to rip it up (I know - Duh...LOL) but with it being glued it will take A LOT of muscle to take it up. Then we would have to grind the floor to get the glue off before we could lay new flooring down. Very expensive and hugely messy. I hate it to no end! I have tried to come up with any and every idea around it but it's a no-go.😢

I LOVE your soaping room. Just curious how large is the room. Doesn’t seem big. Mine is 10x14 and I so need to get organized. You give me hope lol

LOL - Glad I could help! It's not big, maybe 10x12??? something like that. I don't know what I would do if I wasn't able to expand a bit in the rest of the house! 🤗
