- Finally getting around to checking out Tetrarch, and this band honestly may be one of the biggest bands in metal very soon. This sound brings me straight back to my high school years, and it's awesome to hear a younger group of musicians bringing back the nu-metal sound. In this video I break down gear, video production, and talk about how barrier breaking it is to have a guitarist like Diamond Rowe in the band.

Thank you Tank! This is awesome and we really appreciate you!
Thank you guys for the kick ass music! Did a deep dive after watching this and absolutely love the stuff you guys are releasing. Can't wait to hear more!
I'm not gonna lie. The reason I first clicked on one of your videos was because I saw Diamond in the thumbnail. Only took me about 30secs to realize " GIRL! YOU'RE FUCKING LEGIT!!!" I agree with Tank, I wish we lived in a world where it didn't have to be pointed out. But at the same time I'm so glad you're blazing the trail.
I love this band! Saw them at Louder Than Life show a week or so ago. Just awesome riffage .. love the new single
I LOVE that you finally got around to Tetrarch!!
Also: Some of Diamond's solos will MELT YOUR FACE.
Leaving a comment to prop this up, just for you talking about that topic, some people say why talk about it...liked they way you did.🥰👍
Diamond hella deserves the shout-out. She's a guitar beast, and ALSO breaking down barriers. I love to see it.
I fucking love this band didnt know they existed. This band is one of the best discoveries on the channel, in my humble opinion
I get excited when Frosty shows this much excitement about a band. 🤘
@@TankTheTech can you please review anything from andromida
have you checked out Chaoseum - Second Life yet? One song, Smile Again, is just Korn, but the rest of the album is solid.
I can't believe people have never heard of this band before. They've been around since 2013 and this 66 year old has been jamming out to them for years.
@@travisamsler6794 Chaoseum is definitely better without the female lead singer they had originally.
That point about diversity was absolutely important. Many more people should talk about this. I did not think I could love you any more but apparently I could. :D
You are really amazing, thanks for this entire video and especially the diversity point.
Blessings to you and your family from germany.
One thing I want to add to this whole topic: Not only is Diamond a black, female non-vocalist metalhead, she's also not "standard body size" by any means. She would probably not ever appear in any "Hottest Metal Women Top 50" as you mentioned which is another barrier she's breaking. And just from this video alone (never heard of the band before) she has so much charisma and personality. I love it!
Much respect for talking about and bringing awareness to inclusiveness and the challenges people go from.
I don't know what's best about your channel: the knowledge you have about the things you talk about or your charisma
…and Tank is quite handsome too. 🙂
So fucking stoked to see you getting into Tetrarch. I discovered them when a friend went live during their set at Exit 111 a few years ago & I've been hooked ever since. Diamond's energy during that performance had me breaking out in full body goosebumps. I cannot wait to see them perform in person one day. Check out their song Freak from their debut album.
Mad respect to you my man. You call it as you see it, I couldn't agree more. This band has all the formula to get big! Keep rocking guys!
"I'm Not Right" and "You Never Listen" are a couple of their songs to check out next. I mentioned you should give these guys a listen in a comment months ago.
My apologies. There are so many comments per day and sometimes I just totally forget about stuff.
@@TankTheTech No worries. I just knew you'd enjoy them and they needed the exposure. I've been a fan of theirs since 2017 when their non label album "Freak" came out. Hoping now that they're on a major label like Napalm that they'll get more recognition. I may be 66, but I still know what rocks!
*I’m Not Right* by Tetrach is a banger brother!! You’ll dig it’
And, Diamond is a damn beast on the guitar! 🎸 🤘🏻
Props to Diamond for breaking barriers, and props to you for talking about it, man. I think it's important that everyone go out of thier way to include minorites, and as a member of the LGBT community myself, I thank you for bringing up the football bit as well.
I started listening to them with a couple videos posted by Napalm around the release if the album earlier this year. I've been enjoying them.
Edit: the nu-metal nostalgia you talk about from being a teen in the late 90s early 2000s is probably a big reason I've been enjoying them.
I was cheering on your remarks about inclusiveness and the stupidly of making separate categories for females musicians based on looks etc.
The only thing that does remotely make sense is looking at and comparing is the vocals, female voices just do mostly sound different to males. For me, it's like looking at guitars vs bases. That should not, of course, prevent someone of having a list of favourite singers both male and female.
Exactly. Female vocals are just different. But you cant tell on the instruments so that is just silly.
Brittney Slayes said something when A&P Reacts interviewed her that stuck with me: she doesn't like the term "female-fronted metal" because it doesn't describe a band's music very well. Take UtA themselves: because of, you know, Nightwish and Epica, people tend to hear the term and think operatic symphonic metal, but they're a straight-up power metal band. And that's before getting to full-on melodeath acts like Arch Enemy and The Agonist, or an old-school heavy metal act like Burning Witches. And then on the flipside you have Powerwolf, which more and more is an operatic symphonic metal band but is an all-male group.
This is so good! I’m feeling nostalgic with this one, I love it. I also like how you talked about the inclusivity of metal and that scene because that was my experience too.
You know I’ve always thought you were the man, Tank. Thanks for proving that yet again. Great message to go with a great video. 👏🏻
I love that nu metal has made a come back and these are one of my new wave bands, although there’s a ton you may not know about. I actively dig for this stuff and there’s a whole movement of stuff like this. 🤘
You mentioned Tetrarch in your final thoughts as a serious numetal contender, so i went to check it out.. Instantly floored, I had the same reactions, headbanging, really enjoyed the tone, heard lots of inspiration from early nu metal and overall just an amazing band thats nailing the sound. Thanks Tank!
That Diamond solo…get‘s me Tom Morello vibes! 🖤🤘🏻
I love Tetrarch they are just one of the coolest brutal nu-metal bands to come along
Thumbs up for your incredible open mind.
I am from germany and we still have so many people here, even the news, talking about west and east germany and I am allways "man, we are united for more then 30 years now"
About Tetrach, I really like their songs, because they sound like bands that got me into metal back in the days.
Dude I totally get where you’re coming from on EVERY point for this band and video. Tetrarch, you’re awesome and Tank you’ve just got yourself another subscriber man! 🤘🏻
I so glad these guys are getting good reception. I love Tetrarch. Thank you for reacting to them. Please do I'm not right. Its awesome. And I agree with you on every point.
Discovered this band probably in the last month or so by virtue of a metal workout playlist I found on Spotify. (That's how I've discovered a lot of new-to-me bands recently.) I'm now going to see them in November when they come to town along with Atreyu, Saul, Defying Decay and Crown the Empire. Was super stoked to see you react to them.
Also, thank you SO MUCH for talking about how much inclusivity and representation matters. As a white guy, its super easy to let things just slide, because the world is geared towards you.... you can see yourself almost anywhere. Being able to see someone who looks like you in a place you didn't think you belonged or were allowed to be is the first step to seeing yourself there.
This Band is doing so much good tracks. Just really good music
Thanks Tank, I really appreciate the respect you show on your channel and your all round positivity!!! Awesome stuff!
Very solid band! Excited to watch the reaction later!
You're with distance one of the best reaction channels on UA-cam, I'm excited when you tube pops up with a new video from you 🤘🏻
Thanks a ton!
I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for being such a good person, Tank. I enjoy your passion for metal, but your character is a breath of fresh air. It comes up in a lot of your reactions, and it comes across as very genuine.
Man, thanks a ton for the kind words!
Diamond is a real diamond.
It was great reaction and very important speach. I understand topic very good. Thank you for that. I wish this band all the best.
So stoked to see you react to Tetrarch, Tank. Josh and Diamond are such awesome people and musicians who worked hard for and earned this well-deserved attention. I hope Diamond takes you up on the idea of an interview. Count me all the way in on that. Awesome reaction, as always. 🤘
I am really liking this band; loving the Korn, Slipknot, and LP influences. Vicky Psarakis of the Agonist is one of my favorite metal vocalists of all time. I don't say my favorite male and then female, because she puts so many male vocalists to shame. My top 5 are probably 1. Jonathan Davis 2. Vicky Psarakis 3. James Hetfield 4. Corey Taylor 5. Helle Bogdanova. I get what Vicky is saying. Diamond is a beast on the guitar and I enjoy watching her shred. She is now one of my favorite guitarists.
Yes yes yes! Fucking yes! Thanks for reacting to this band...they are going to blow up!
As I knew you would love this.. check out I'm Not Right or You Never Listen
Holy fuck its like Wayne is Back!
Static-X meets Korn meets Deftones. I'm in love.
Do me a solid my guy, when you get that interview with this band, get them to try a cover of static-x
Sick reaction dude! I feel like the more I listen to your Channel, the more I discover incredible metal bands! So huge thanks from Canada ;)
Awesome, man! Thank you!
Tetrarch is awesome. They’re a modern nü metal group and give no fucks. If you love them, they open their arms to you. But if you a hater, they just smile and walk away with their middle fingers up.
Sup! I was introduced to high school just as I was introduced to 90's grunge (and I'm sure yaz know about that era), and it was short lived for me and I strongly doubt it ever comes back. NU METAL comes around and I'm in love with music again, kinda went away as well but THESE KIDS! After me wife found em for me on youtube, I have once again fell in love with music cause they re-ignited a sound that I thought was again like Grunge, gonna be forgotten. Thank you for doing this reaction man
🤘🤘🤘
Diamond is like my favorite Guitarist in the world. She's versatile and everything she plays grips my soul. I found a video of her just goofing around with a guitar and she hit some impressive sounds.
For me, this band and Tallah are leading the way for the resurgence of the NU metal sound. Both are fairly new bands and I’m excited to see how they grow and develop.
That was fun, eyes closed it reminded me of my first Korn concert. Great reaction man!
I absolutely agree with you, and suggest "Negative noise" and "I'm not right".
Besides the points you mentioned, diverse representation can encourage more people to pursue their talents or interests. It really does make a difference for many young people to see someone who looks like them or shares some of their experiences. It can be an inspiration.
EXACTLY. Diamond has the potential to be an influence to an entire generation of new metal heads and musicians and that's awesome.
Such a great vid, and a genuinely awesome band with awesome people.
When you mentioned guitarist the other individual that came to mind was Fallon Bowman formerly of Kittie who also play Guitar in that band
Reminds me of burned cd's and limewire! I've been listening to their songs everyday for a week. Definitely going to have to get a tetrarch shirt. Nu metal is making a comeback.
I echo all the perils of being a metalhead and jock in HS. Metallica, et al.
Now, living in ATL, I can offer Paleos as a band I've listened to since I got here to GA. Give em a listen!
This made me wanna play WoW again and listen to Nu-metal like I did back in 2008!
Maaaan that whole album is so good and the Nu-metal vibes are reaaaaal, I highly suggest checking "I'm not right" (Real nice breakdown) & "Negative Noise" (For a really nice solo). Definitely one of the best bands I discovered in the last 6 months!
Man it's soo damn cool that you are genuinely a good dude with passion for the genre and the community and YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT and the times you don't you admit it straight up.🤘🤘 Much love brother
Dear god I love it! Fantastic song will deffo be checking out more.
Also: mega kudos on banging the diversity drum. Keep at it man let’s get that shit heard
Heard a song on Sirius Liquid Metal by these guys the other weak, Diamond is a beast on the guitar. Perfect stuff for when I want to travel back in time to my younger years but with a modern twist
Man, Tank, its really good to hear you talking about inclusion/stereo types and barriers in metal! And especially the way you did, I could really here that it matters to you and you are passionate about it. Keep on rocking!
I’m so glad you went back to check this out. I thought you were going to miss out on a bad ass debut album
Didn't know the band, didn't know the guitar player. But what you said about Diamond: yes!! Just yes!!
Also: awesome song! Gonna check them out more!
I love them, definitely the early Adema, korn vibe going. They are phenomenal
As a black man in a unsigned metal band I really appreciate your remarks on Diamond. When we've done shows in the Midwest (we are based in WI) the amount of times we've heard people say things like "I never expected that from you guys", or "man I didn't know black guys could make that sound". And my band is multi racial with a black lead singer, and it still puzzles me when I hear people say stuff like that even today.
This is why I've come to love you and this channel, from this WI based metal head thanks Tank
Hahaha, yeah kinda weird. There is no reason why not. But i can understand the suprise, i mean i dont see many black people in metal. Most concerts or festivals i've been too i dont think i seen more then 5 black dudes in the audience. Same with certain sports. There arent exactly alot of black skiers or snowboarders. Ofcourse its entirely irrelevant what colour skin you have cool people are cool people.
@@themplar I guess to me that it would depend on where you are and what show(s) you go to. I just don't know why it has to be pointed out, because trust me every black an knows their aren't many of us at a lot of metal shows. But I just don't get why someone has to mention it, I am just a person at a metal show enjoying the music. Or performing the music I've written and that should be all, not as a black man but just as a man making or enjoying music
Thanks for sharing your experience. I will admit, when I was younger and I was first getting into metal, I always found it fascinating to meet black people at shows or see black people in metal bands, because it was fairly uncommon. And then I grew up and realized it doesn't matter, because people of different backgrounds and ethnicities enjoy tons of different stuff, and shouldn't be put into one box. And especially in this day and age, you'd think it wouldn't be surprising anymore.
@@TankTheTech you would think after decades of the scene but still happens. I’ve had many a weird experience over the years as has my band H1Z1. Mostly due to us being very multi cultural
@@slavex7 While you are absolutey correct. Thats just not how the world works. People like to point out these things that suprises them or "one of these things is not like the other"
And generally i think its more a positive thing becayse its a pleasant suprise. Not different from a white kid kicking butt with rap, which nobody expects. The nerdy kid being really good at something you dont stereotypically expect him to be.
But yes at the end of the day its just a person enjoying the music. The pigment or whatever is really irrelevant.
We want more Tetrarch please! 😁👍🏻
Great words, Tank! Really great words! 👍🏼 This whole Album is damn awesome… front to back… check negative noise…
Once again, Napalm gains another heavy hitter for the future generation of metal.
Watched them play with friends Atlanta band "THe BastardSuns"
Well this is gonna be me for the next few days. Massively nostalgic
Damn I completely missed this one!! I can completely relate since I was a mid to late 90s metalhead in a school that was 90% rap and country. 9%was other music I can't remember. So yeah 1% was metalheads in a high school with less than 1000 students.
Love the reaction. Flying cap just hit the nail. And your comments about the scene approach to color and sex are just brilliant! Keep up the good work you're doing with that channel. Tetrarch rocks!
Thank you for your awsome and so important comment! You speak from my heart!
Another great band to add to my playlist 🤘
They ROCK
Great analysis of this band and also the way you referred to women in the metal scene has brilliant. I would like to take the opportunity to recommend a NAPALM band: Nervosa, those girls are really talented!! Have a great weekend Tank!!!!
Their songs Freak and I'm Not Right are absolute FIRE, man. You gotta check them out!
Oh I have already. Absolutely love this band. Interview with Diamond and Josh coming this week!
Just coming to my mind: Last year I saw a series of live streams - and among the best of those was the performance of Body Count. I was especially impressed by the playing of Ernie C. Even more after hearing about his history: Growing up in an area where young people had no other chance than joining a gang the gangs left him alone because he taught his guitar skills to others.
Amazing reaction as always Tank !!
Just went through your videos and i`m shocked you have not reacted to ERRA yet ? Their album is my top release so far this year.
They are heavy, emotional, technical, geniuses. Would recommend Divisionary, Vanish Canvas or Gungrave but whole album is just amazing. I know you would absolutely love it
Thanks for the heads up!
@@TankTheTechno problem. Dont wanna spam with requests but think this is one of those band you missade out on. Keep doing your fantastic work 🤘
Found this band last year, they are worth keeping an eye on! And yes, I'm with you on seeing more poc and women in metal and not just on vocals.
I appreciate your rant, and I’m happy to see you reacting to Tetrarch!
It doesn't matter but it does because it shows the metal community is a good community and we appreciate and include everyone...
edit: "it" being Diamond being a black guitarist in a metal band which is extremely rare....but let's also talk about her talent...well rounded guitarist for sure.
I saw this band without having known I did a couple of years ago. Their first album isn’t the best thing I’ve heard, but this second album became one of my favorite albums this year. The nostalgia factor plays a role, but it really does have a fantastic mix and groove. It’s quite a trip, I love it a lot!
Please react to Imminence. They just dropped a great new single called Ghost
You could team up with Courtney La Plante. She has a podcast namend " Good for a girl" in which she interviews women in the Music industry.
I saw them a little over a year ago when they came with Atreyu and Nonpoint and they freaking rocked. And Diamond is an incredible guitar player
I had that reaction with Frozen Crown with there Video for "Neverending" I stumbled upon and there guitarist Thalia. For a moment I was like "Whoa, hold on, that's a really rare sight!"
Also a really good band you could check out :)
Also that guitar solo from Diamond in this reminded me of the solos of Rob Arnold of Chimaira: short, eloquent and to the point, love that :D
Love it brother!!!
8:50 to 12.00 that whole discussion PunkRockMBA has brought it up as a topic too, now over a year ago, and I quite agree.
I am getting many vibes from this band, nit just the bands already listed, but modern Motionless in White, as well, love it.
For more songs I def recommend Torn Apart and I'm not right, which are some of my favorite songs by them, Negative Noise is also a great contender for amazing Tetrarch songs
Thank you for your refreshing commentary on the social aspects of this song, Diamond, and metal in general. This needs to be said - clearly - as you did.
Other bands bringing the nu metal sound back, Blind Channel (I know you’ve reacted to “Balboa” by them) and Chaoseum, check out their song “Smile Again”. 🤘🏻🙂
Just like Stich me up, Smile again resonates with me on a deep level and is an amazing piece of music.
I'm even later than you to discover them, man that sounds so nostalgic
That was fucking awesome, as you said, took me straight back to high school. Video reminded me of Korn's song Thoughtless.
I would love to see you do a reaction and break down of the song The Greatest Storm by Pokerface, a Russian thrash band.
I found this band on SXM Liquid Metal and immediately was a fan. I got to see them live a couple weeks ago with some friends who had no clue who they were. After their set, they all said they were fans now, and that, along with seeing how good they did on stage, it made me so happy.
I just discovered this song in the past week. So fucking good. I so agree with your comments on Diamond (& women in metal in general). She's fucking awesome.
FUCK YES TETRACH!!!! seeing these guys in December and can't fucking wait
KITTY had a black guitarist when they started out that also sang. The founder of rock music was a black man in the early 20th century.
Oh man, I don’t know I missed this video!!! Amazing song!!!! Please do more of this band!!! Also, you need a stank face T-shirt haha my face almost imploded with these tones!!!
Edit: awesome comments and I agree with them.
I became hooked on this band from this same video, I recommend also checking out a band called DREGG, they are surprisingly not too well known
3:21 Me too man and I know exactly what you mean, 100% agree 🤘
yep, listening to this feels like listening to my first KoRn album... Getting "Falling away" vibes 😎
Tank, you liked Beyond Creation if I remember right. I recommend the german answer, Obscura. Akroasis is a great song to start with. :)
Gotta check their song Negative Noise, will rock your socks. Definitely check Chaoseum too, couple of good clips up on YT, Into My Split, Stick Under My Skin and Smile Again
Been listening to them for a little while, first time I looked at the video was when Diamond put up a awesome solo and I wanted to watch it played, saw her ripping it out and was like "Ok, that is awesome" This band combines all the best from what I remember from the late 90s nu-metal.
damn they are good!
That was a sick song, definitely checking them out some more. I would reccomend War Kings, their new record dropped a couple months back, the 'Fight' is a really good introduction to the band.
i really hope this band gets more attention, i discovered them a few weeks ago and i love their new album. im a 90s kid, so i grew up with nu-metal as well and to this day its my absolute favorite genre of music, chester bennington was the voice of my childhood. if this band can start a new era of nu-metal, i would be so fucking happy, either way, i cant wait for new releases of this band.
