Never have i ever clickt on a video that fast :D I buyed Atilla years ago JUST to play the LotR Mod. Im patiently waiting for this Masterpiece of art :) Keep up the great work!
When finished, the mod will be great. I would advise a lot of patience. Middle Earth was not built in one day. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.
MK1212 campaign map is basically vanilla with added regions and yet it hasn’t come out, so I don’t have high hope in this one coming out any time soon.
Like I said mods go up and down in progress, MK1212 is one I definitely feel you on. DD though has regular comms and updates which at least keeps people relatively in the loop :)
It is such a shame that it takes literally years, sometimes more than a decade, for immensely talented people like this to create something. I wish they could actually afford to do this as a full time job and not a hobby. After Bfme released all those years ago, we still haven't gotten a proper Lord of the Rings strategy. I wish that CA makes it their next fantasy game. Not sure how possible that is, considering the immense and limitless greed of what is now Tolkien estate.
I always held the unpopular opinion that BFME is not that suitable in presenting the epic battles of LOTR. I always imagined something like a total war type of game would be more suitable.
I am so hyped for this mod! Just one thing that I would like to see a change in is the textstyle, because every time I see it, it reminds me of Rome Total War or Attila which takes a bit the imersion away...But this is just a tiny detail and I might be the only one who is bothered by that haha
I’ve got like 4000hours in third age total war regular and DaC. I’ve been following this development since it was announced and I can’t wait to see it come to life
knew since rome 2 total war, there was an issue with modding a game where cities were hard coded and not being able to mod it, basicly you could mod just units. cant wait to see this finished, im big fan of elves.
My parents showed me Lord of the Rings at 4, and I fell in love with it instantly. For that Christmas I got the entire first wave of LEGO Lord of the Rings sets. At 6 I found Third Age Total War on UA-cam, and after about a Year my Dad bought Medieval 2 so I could play it, but it wouldn’t work the game. About a Year later at 8, I learned of Rise of Mordor, and kept up hope for a few years, before forgetting about it. Than when I turned 11, I got Attila Total War, and played the heck out of it, and one good thing about Quarantine was that Rise of Mordor’s Alpha pack came out. Now here I am at 16, still waiting for the Campagin to arrive, but I’m happy to make due with what we have until then.
You know what? It has been years, yes! So I think I could start learning some modding. By the time we get some custom voicelines so elven don't sound so human I actually might be supporting it!
I'd rather receive it later but as a masterpiece rather than receive it early with mediocre quality. hope they keep going until they feel its perfect for the release
I’m looking forward to this mod don’t get me wrong… but the BIG issue with Attila’s engine is that with massive late game battles (especially with mods) it’s extremely glitchy and the game can’t keep up. Regardless of your PC build.
Did they keep the civilians bystanders wandering around from Attila, it would be incredible to be able to recreate the scenes from lotr (lootings from the rohirrim villages, battle for minas thirit etc)
hope it is not comiing o late :'( already have 2children now and i want to play it before they can play it themself and beat me haha :( just a little quick question, there a lots of mods like GOndor subfaction, would they be into the game? or re they just all gondor? or nonplayable factions?

good mod coverage as usual mr terminator, i'm greatful to all the modders doing all of this work out of sheer passion, but you seem to have forgotten to cover something important about DD's feature, WHAT ABOUT THE SECOND BREAKFAST??????
Unlikely I would get access any time soon considering the volume of applications to test the mod! Total war is very lucky to still have a dedicated modding community for its games after all these years. Credit has to go to them for not abandoning it and giving us fans plenty of time to enjoy their modifications. Especially when total war for me right now is kind of stagnant in terms of content while CK3 gets a new dlc…
In vanilla Attila, each general gets some skill points that they can spend to gain abilities. @prometheus_tdd and if was terrible in all of them. I can tolerate it in WH3 because province management is not a big part of the game. But for any historical game or even I would argue for LOTR it offers no advantage whatsoever. Just makes the game look smaller. I want the old Rome of Medieval settlement management over the province system but mk1212 is the closest it can get to it in modern TW games.
The reason for that is because 1 region per province comes with its cons too (it introduces boring micro management that modern players would rather skip). We did polls back at a tile and people voted for a hybrid system, which we now use
@victimized1 well if that is what the majority wants then I have nothing to say. That is what submods are for. Maybe one day someone make 1 turn per province submod
Really? Based on how small the camagin map is overall in cw, I think the mod itself was a good product serving as a game itself for the best of both worlds. Dont wanna get stuck in stupid lying CA environment again. Modders do not waste your time for total war!
As much as I am looking forward to this mod coming out, I dont think any mod will ever beat the absolute beast of a mod that divide and conquer is. At least for the LotR universe speaking.

Look, original Third Age came out in 2009. DaC, that initially was fully based on TATW first came out in 2014 and continues receiving updates to this day. They roughly spent 14 years on their mod. For a much older game with a much lower visual quality standards with a much shorter development time for those assets and with all modding capabilities already unlocked for them by others.
