Switching to electric fan is the way to go. The oem BMW fan can destroy itself and hoses… plus its a pita to move when doing maintenance. I have an 03 325xi, deleted the cars fan and went electric 3 years ago(17k miles since) with no issues. I did the fan upgrade, water pump, hoses, thermostat/housing, radiator, coolant res, both tensioners and all pulleys, both belts, lower bar cap, brass bleeder… when I did the fan. Just thought Id see if I could eliminate one of the E46’s weak spots.
+Saul Serrano Thanks for watching! The symptoms of a bad water pump are usually things like a squeaky pulley, coolant leaks and overheating. 1aauto.com
I replace my water pump and thermostat and now the temp gauge goes to red while driving like 60mph and i slowdown and temp goes back to normal but it only happens one time. Any suggestions. Thank you. Great video

You guy make the best video’s thanks
Should you change the water pump when you change the belt tensioners on e46 BMW? Please advise. Thank you!
Mo

What is a freeze plug?
Why is he removing all these hoses
Would a bad water pump on a bmw be a possible cause for loss of acceleration after 3rd fear or so ??

1A Auto Parts I do experience leaking coolant but I don’t experience overheating, could it still be the water pump?
No. Check your fuel pump.
@@SuperBeastin247 it could be but the water pump is electric not on the belt so I would check your timing belt
@@KaidudeHasanSarfaraz Electric water pump on E46? I don't even... Did you watch the video?
Thank you so much bro!!
WHere we suppose to get the bolts you insert to get the water pump out? Do i go buy em?
What does your heart tell you? Metric bolt store would be my guess. Probably a 10 X 1.25 X 35 (mm)

Thanks so much
I was excited about doing the work until the damn fan... i hate BMW.
Definitely gonna do an engine swap after that...
@@KaidudeHasanSarfaraz just buy the electric fan lol
Why doesn’t it fit in mine
I find the E46 to be inferior to the E36 in every way.
You don't have to pop off most of the stuff he's going to get to the water pump why remove so much
