I like how the fiends in the first half are walking through the tunnels like, “what was that noise?” *gunshot gunshot gunshot, sound of burning fiends* “I better walk in really slow.”
There are a couple of things in favour of the NCR when they face Fiends: 1) Even basic troopers are much better armoured than almost any Fiend and can thus soak up a lot of damage. Fiends, not so much. 2) While the troopers’ standard service rifle isn’t marvellous, it’s often “good enough”. By contrast, the best Fiend weapons are very good, but a lot of them are very poorly armed and are simply mown down (this is their shit armour again). This is especially true for most melee Fiends. This is why, even in vanilla New Vegas, the NCR will usually wipe the floor with them when the Fiends attack (e.g. several spots near Camp McCarran), at worst losing a couple of troopers in the vast majority of fights. By contrast, the NCR/Legion fights are far more likely to go either way, as the Legion troops are also well armoured and even their melee oriented troops can pack a punch and have a chance to close the distance.
9 minutes into the video snd this great dude i love how you added a story into this instead of it being a random shootout Also at some points in the video it looked like an actual team like when they entered the vault, the raider got snuck up on by both heavy troops while he was distracted by the ranger
I'm sure this is completely accidental (or modded), but I really like the NCR are actually "in formation" while the fiends, even when packed together, are scatterbrained and running away when low HP.
I really like the elements of storytelling that you sprinkle into your videos here. Like the scenes in Vault 3 with saving Bryce and freeing the prisoners and them giving the codes to the NCR troopers, like what would happen if you, the player were in there instead. Really makes it feel like this is happening in the wasteland itself and just gives the video and the troopers involved in these more life. Love the different types of parties taking out each of the bosses as well. It’s very well laid out. Well done!
I hope to see a video of The Legion clearing deathclaw hives. Maybe the Deathclaw Promontory, or Quary Junction. Make it 5 waves. 1st with a lot of recruit and primes with some veterans. And each wave adds more veterans, decanus and centurions. With the last one having oreatorians and Lanius himself. As for the deathclaws, add more deathclaws than what they are, some more blind deathclaws, more Alphas, more Mothers, every named deathclaw and the legendary one too.

Every playthrough I always try to manipulate the ncr and fiends around camp McCarran into fighting each other. It surprisingly goes either way at times.
@@RiotNpcBattles Especially when the fiends have better weapons with mods since it can be random they will have a plasma rifle then on another a pool cue lol but ncr always have at least service rifle.
I've tried to do far cry 3 and 4 npc battles and that's the number one reason I cant. The ai is kind of garbage for large scale NPC battles in those games, what a shame...

One of the NCR's biggest flaws in New Vegas is that they're spread thin and they probably can't devote the man power necessary to wipe the fiends all at once
*Now we can see why the NCR doesn't do what it should, losing those heavy troopers alone, not even considering the others would be a detrimental loss with legion constantly reinforcing.*
These losses would affect the NCR presence on an operational level. Troopers, a couple of heavies, and a half dozen rangers (several veterans) is pretty devastating. That said, the fiends were far more operationally damaging than Oliver wanted to admit. Had they known for a fact that the fiends were working with the direction and assistance of legion frumentari I like to think they would have made the commitment. I’m positive Moore wouldn’t have hesitated, but the number of fiends, how well equipped and dangerous they were, and size of their holdings would have meant a force commitment I don’t think she could have authorized without Oliver. And she would have had a legion agent of equal rank trying to run interference. So when I try ink about it, this is probably how it would have gone down. Even with these staggering losses of extremely valuable personnel, I think the NCR probably would have been up had they pursed the fiends. I really wish there had been an option to assassinate Oliver, and keep with the NCR.

Well, because then the player would have nothing to do is the real answer. In canon the answer (that doesnt make very much sense outside of the game) is that they dont know when the battle over the dam is going to break out and don't see the fiends as worth diverting troops to crush them, in reality a platoon or 2 of actual veteran troopers could probably kill or capture Motor Runner and all the named Fiends in about 12 hours with minimal losses. This is what the NCR did with the Vipers, Jackals, and the Khans its not like they have no experience fighting methed out raiders in tight urban ruins.

Not exactly sure what you’re referring too but the laser rcw laser just turned green from an effects mod. Also there was a point where 3 fiends were shooting at the same time which made it look like an automatic plasma rifle.

Always love when you add a little bit of a story but seeing the terminator at the end gave me a giggle. Hopefully in the future we might even see a modded npc battle.
Really enjoyed how these npc battles have narrative to them makes them all the more enjoyable. Would like to see the use of mods such as "NPCs Sprint In Combat" or other mods to either boost up enemies and such to make the battles all the more interesting.
The NCR mechanics are gonna hate you for sending 2 heavy infantry guys, to attack a bunch of raiders with barely any armor. Do you know how many holes they have to fix?! 😫
It always seemed to me that the fiends only survived as long as they did by grace of the fact that caesars legion had the bulk of the NCRs forces tied up in the east. With a big centralized hideout like they had it would only have taken a platoon or so of even just regular troopers to wipe them out.

It essentially means without courier intervention, the fiends would beat the ncr. Also no, only a few of the first recon members consider the fiends a joke, in fact the only one I can think of is corporal betsy whom says fighting legion is harder physically than fighting the fiends (which no shit). Hsu is very concerned about them and he's one of the highest ranked people in the mojave.
