  • Let's elevate your ball striking and transform it from POOR to PRO in just 2 minutes! It's that easy! I understand many golfers are hesitant to change their swing or technique, but with 5 easy-to-follow steps, we can help you achieve a pro-like impact position. The key to all of this is learning to square the clubface with your left arm and left wrist during the downswing. We need to stop leaving the face open in the downswing if we want to improve our ball striking quickly.
Creating a pro-like strike with your irons will result in compressing the golf ball and allowing you to gain at least one extra club length effortlessly! This method also applies to your driver and fairway woods.
We aim to position your hands ahead of the golf ball with loft on the clubface. The WEIRD ADJUSTMENT that gets your DISTANCE BACK EVERY TIME with your IRONS!!
The 5 steps to this process are:
1.Square the face before taking your grip.
2.Focus on the dots on your glove.
3.Hold the grip at the end of the club.
4.Release the knuckles in the downswing.
    5.Achieve pro-like iron strikes.

I recently switched from my irons to all hybrids except my wedges. Being a 75 y/o male and in decent shape, I believed that this was the way to go. I just started golfing about 3 years ago and got addicted. It has taken me a little bit to get used to these clubs as they are about an inch longer and they have graphite shafts. My irons were steel shafts. One of my concerns with switching was in the deep rough but it didn't really affect my shot. These got through. With your tips and easy-to-follow steps, I have adapted well and it has changed my game. Grip is key... thanks!

Great drill, I've recently read Hogan's five lessons and he talks about supination of the left wrist. This drill seems to give that effect and I would like to hear more about the left wrist position at impact. Thanks for these videos.

Lovely video. On the grip drill: My pro taught me to stretch the arms quite hard to mimic the centrifugal forces at impact, making me realize that although I thought I had a square face with my weak side of neutral grip, it would be slightly closed at impact. Then gripping it a millimeter or so more open worked wonders. The knuckles tip is too visual for me, I am better at ingesting feel drills.

@AlexElliottGolf you’ve done an incredible job teaching us the fundamentals of this sport. I wonder if you can go into your warm up? Like physical warm up? Any tips or suggestions for stretches or exercises we can do before getting to the course or range?

2 1/2 knuckles is neutral at setup. But come into contact with only 1 knuckle showing? Club face would then be closed relative to set up. Please explain why this wouldn't promote a hook.

Stage 3 could be confusing for many. Desire to see three knuckles at the top is likely to cause wrist flexion. Hence, open club face.

Ive been listening to you lot for too long, regarding grip. I'll be taking advice from a 18 major winner's advice from now on. The grip in the palm, not the fingers of the left hand and in the finger of the right hand.
