What do you struggle with most, pitching or chipping?
Today? Everything 🤣
Chipping 🏌♂️⛳️
Pitching for sure!
Chipping closer to the green
It’s chipping for me. I have a hard time trusting a nice smooth follow through, thinking I might skull it. That leads to me stabbing at the ball and losing the control neared to stick it close.
I just hit the best round of my life today. 77! Been trying to break 80 all summer and that's how I did it. Ecstatic.
Congrats well done
Thank you!@@sohailkareemrana9774
Brilliant!!! Well done
@@AlexElliottGolf Thank ya! I saw your drill where ya put the tee in at a shallow angle in front of the ball to try and take it with the ball on the shot. Went to the range, hit some balls doing that drill. Then went out and I had some of the most consistent approach shots I've ever had!
Hi Alex. I'm playing tomorrow. I can't wait to try this out. I've started to use your driver tips. My golf buddy commented to me. It was the best he had ever seen me drive the ball.
Used this tip last weekend and my pitching was seriously improved. Also used it for hitting 9 and 8 irons into the wind.. Great results
Another tool in the bag! My playing partners get mad when I stream your videos on how to make each shot! I just tell them it’s faster than me just hitting away! 😊😊
Great reminder .. I had this idea early in my season, then forgot it, somewhat! I have a few more chances to get out before winter here .. definitely taking this to the range before playing!
Excellent job Alex in explaining the pitching technique for three different distances! One thing not covered was hand position at set up. Are the hands toward your belt buckle on the shorter shot or inside the left thigh on the longer shots? Always learning from your videos Alex! Keep up the good work!!
I am so happy I bought a more lofted wedge. I love the bump and run, but had a few times in the tournament I set one nicely on the green in scoring position, over trouble.
Great video!
Thank you Alex, it's amazing how you can explain something hard and transform it into an easier and simpler way to understand. 👍 Can't wait to go give it a try. This is where all the score comes from. Thanks again!
Brilliant, please let me know how you get on
Just when I thought I got the short game figured out you come in here with this knowledge Alex!!! Thank you!!! You are an amazing coach. This is so helpful!
Happy to help!
Love this tip Alex, I'm playing today and can't wait to try this technique as I struggle badly with chipping and distance control, thanks for the lesson.
No problem! I have another chipping tip coming up tonight which I think you would find super useful Joe
Great technique. Very similar to what I do. My coach always told me, left arm firm and to use "tick tock like a clock" for tempo.
Nice instruction! One thing you didn't mention is how important feel is in dialing in the yardage. I spend hours practicing my wedges, but I'm always surprised to see how few people spend time around the practice green and range on their wedge game.
Thank you Alex, I’ll try this.
You're welcome
Well done alex 🏌♂️ 👏 😊
Just put this into practice today as not the best at these kinda distances ohy word game changer saved me so many shots today
Alex, this was great . I didn’t quite get how you get spin. Would you go into spin again with more detail? Thanks
Doug Langley
Alex I'm working with pitch wedge to 6 iron in my club set where should my grip be along the length of the club for each club on a full swing. For instance should I be gripping an inch from the end of the club or two inches. I would be very thankful for this information Alex. Sincerely, Craig.
I've been a loyal follower and I've seen you give this tip before. I'm the least experienced in my group BY FAR, but I'm the best at 50-100 out, including an 85 yard hole out for an eagle in a scramble 2 weeks ago. Thank you so much!
Thanks for following the channel!
Not the least, just learning to be better. I'm that person that struggles with the swing, control, impact. However, never give up, love the challenge and the game way to much.
Great info. and very good explanation Alex. Thank you. I am presuming that you like/would recommend the Full Swing Monitor device?
Thanks! Yes i certainly do
Thank you Elliott. I did exactly what you said with my chipping today and it worked miracles for me. I was ready to ditch my hybrids and go back to my irons because I was having a hard time chipping with them. Doing what you said worked great. I stayed below 100 and that’s good for me. Hoping to make it in the 80’s soon.😂😅
I'm sure you will be!!!
Hi Alex. Is your stance as open for each distance? Looks like you were a bit more square on the 80 yard shot?
Hello Alex! In regards to your stance, do you only open the stance on shorter shots(50 & less)? I noticed your stance was more square on longer shots. Thanks Alex keep the great videos coming!!
This is what I meant to see also
Loving your trousers Alex
Thanks david!
Another great video! Definitely pitching! What flight tracker were you using??
Full swing!
Thanks for your great videos. Could you show us how to hit a ball standing on a hill with a 40% incline toward the green in both longer grass and short grass. I struggle hitting the ball on sharp inclines or declines!
Yes i will try and cover this in another video. Thank you for tuning in
I’ve been missing your instructions lately. Tiger says “no UA-cam” but I need my Alex
Haha, love that!
Do you use for the 30, 50 and 80 yard the 54° wedge?
Pretty good demo🏌️♀️✌️
🔥
Figured this out a couple of months ago while practicing and found that if I let gravity take the club from horizontal instead of forcing the downstroke the control feels miles better for around the greens
Great video! Do you open your club?
Yeah!
Are you leaning the shaft?
Another great video … time to hit the range
Let me know how you get on !
what model of the flight radar are you using? Looks nice and handy to carry around to the range/chipping green!
Edit: just checked. Its Fullswing, and it costs about US$5k. Any suggestions on what is good and affordable for weekend hacks like me to buy and improve my game?
Yeah that is right, the ones i have used in the past havent been as reliable, it depends what you are looking to achieve with them to be honest!
Alex , please show us how to hit the very short chip. I struggle with this shot horribly. I sometimes shortside myself and get into panic mode.
It usually ends in a scull shot across the green .
Willl do soon! Keep your eyes on the channel
@alexElliot what device were you sing to measure how far golf ball went and carry distance?
Full swing!
@@AlexElliottGolf thank you
Hi Alex love your tutorials first up. However would it be possible to have subtitles converting yards to meters. You are now worldwide and some golf course only use meters. Keith
Great suggestion Kevin, I didn’t think of that! Thank you
Cheers Keith who is Kevin
thanks but your explanation is very clear for the 30y (with the 4 check boxes) but not so much for 50 and 80yards (where is the weight, rotation, ball position... ) . Best. ;-)
Hi Jacop, I have made a video on in depth ball position for different clubs so this should help you, the video is dropping tonight 8pm uk time so be sure to tune in!
Alex I noticed your feet didn’t look the same as on 50-80 yards as it did with the 30 yard play. Do you only set you feet up the way you did on 30 yards only?
Yeah thats right
@@AlexElliottGolf thank you so much
Uh oh. I’m watching a UA-cam golf video to improve my chipping. I’m sure Tiger wouldn’t approve.
Hahah love that, I bet he would love my tips though
If your 30 yard swing is parallel to the ground your 50 yard swing can not also be parallel to the ground. I think perhaps you meant perpendicular?
pitching. for me chipping is just long putting with loft.
🏌🏌🏌🏌🏌
The biggest issue amateurs have with these type of shots is that they never practice these type of shots
What I don't like about your approach is that you don't use the bounce so that it slides under the ball - there's always a divot in your demonstration.
Too much talking and not enough shots. Too complicated.
Sorry!
