Missing the Eurovox stereo I see. This is such a magnificent time capsule, I am loving seeing it in all its glory. I grew up in a white 2 door, then a black 4 door. Now mum’s baby is my daily, a white, soft dash 94 Vogue LSE. I remember so much about the the early cars. The smell, how hard it was for me as a child to pull the rear seat fold release mechanism, the huge gear knob on the end of a 1.5 foot long gear stick, those holes in the dash, the petrol cap that had a spring release and then you put the key in. Such fun times. Back when I fought with my brother over who could put petrol in the car. The pop up ashtray... mum and dad always smoked in the car.

Im only 30% through this and it’s already very refreshing Andrew.
Everyone is buying new cruisers and building them up. It’s crazy boring, No adventure in it. Going touring in a old girl with a bit of character, having them fail and overcoming it makes for great viewing... I think that’s a small part of why roothy is so good to watch
And this kind of car is more attainable to the common fella so it’s much more relatable

Reminds me of buying our 40 year old HJ47 Troopy, neglected for 12 years and driving it unregistered from Perth to the East Coast. We had to put gorilla tape where the roof met the windscreen surround because there was a hole that let bugs in and the noise was deafening 😅 great memories!

Absolutely excellent!! Whether you just drive it back to Perth and be done with it, or do a full restoration, this is film-making at its finest. I remember your previous films regarding your love for the old Range Rovers. The story has gone "full circle"; come all the way back around to your roots. I love this series, and we're only one video in to it.
As always, bless you for the work that you do, telling these amazing stories. Be it traveling through Africa, or picking up a classic Rover, you have a true gift for telling a great story. Thank you!!!

Also a Cruiser guy, but recently at age 65 bought my first Landy S2a in fair condition for a 50 year old plus vehicle. I am doing repair work I have never done before and loving it. I get up earlier just to do this or that small thing, I can't wait to get home so that I can do some work on it. I have an even older than me Landy mentor, putting forward the idea of doing a bit at a time and soon you will have a great vehicle. It has only been 3 months and I love it. You must enjoy this journey.

As someone who restored a far worse condition Jaguar XJ6L ,( a farmer had been using it as a truck in the fields) this is a gem. When done , my Jag took best in class at a concours.
This is the type of vehicle that got you started. Whatever truck you may build in the future, this is the first bookend of your career.
Personally, I would restore it to perfection, and drive it as if it were new. It’s a keeper!👍 Then, what patina it acquires will be you, and not just someone else’s neglect!

Great to see you in the Range Rover finally. Look forward to seeing more of the videos. One thing that stands out to me initially is the way that the rear sags when you accelerate. Looking at the vehicle, I would resto-mod it. Keep it as original as you can, but improve on it so that you can use it as a daily driver and for short solo trips. Considering the state of the garage in the coming weeks and months, I know it is just going to be filled with two vehicles that have your heart and soul in them.
All the best with the coming projects.

Something reassuring about having a pre 1999 model 4WD when you’re out in the middle of nowhere, alone. Knowing that pretty much any break down can be repaired to at least limp mode to get you and the vehicle back to civilianisation, is a comforting feeling. The hideously expensive and over computerised modern 4WDs break down almost just as much, and the only way out is a very expensive, very lengthy wait for tow truck to save you!
Give me to old stuff any day!
