I love that Emile's attack sprite is him using Steve as a bludgeon.
And his hit sprite is Masae breaking reality to punch him while Tim's hit sprite is being being beaned by a green rupee, I adore this mod
I'd be interested to see if Lucahjin ends up joining in and getting one of her own, too. If they're going to do co-op mode, that would definitely be a good time to bring in a fourth player if not sooner, since the AI tends to make poor choices of characters and roles for co-op.

I know this is pre-recorded, but when a card plays another card, like with star breaker's hyper, you can right click to see the card their planting.
the fact that this is 2 parts but the last one was 3 is the most orange juice thing i've ever seen. i hope we get some 5 part boards immediately followed by a single episode for another
Oh yeah 100% Orange Juice games can get REALLY long if ya have constant battles over stars
I've personally seen games last anywhere from 6 Chapters (my personal worst trying to play Co-Op alone VS Summer Beast) to upwards of 70-some Chapters due to everyone getting screwed over by random warps, Home Roulette, Here and There spam, Final Battles that reached the limit, and back-to-back revenge KOs.
100% OJ's RNG can get _merciless_ without warning...
Bonus/Best Part - Near half the video is explaining some other aspects of the game meaning the game is even SHORTER than the video title appears.
Luck based party games are...an experience.

Another thing about Star Breaker, if she lands on a space with a bomb from her hyper, it won't detonate. She'll just "re-collect" it, making one less bomb to deal with until she plays another hyper
I actually didn't know this and Star Breaker is one of my go-to characters :o
Yup, but you have to play very close attention because when she (Or even the people who plays her hyper) lands on her/their own bomb it makes a sound, and that sound definitely means that there's a bomb there and it's now disarmed.

From a quick Internet search:
Star Breaker is the final boss from “Sora”, one of the bullet hell series created by Orange_Juice (apparently it’s connected to the game that Suguri, Tim’s character, comes from). A mentally-unstable pyromaniac who hates losing and wants to destroy everything, which is represented here by the fact that she can only choose norma conditions that involve winning fights.
Jon should try Casual/Sweet Eater Tomomo! She's a dual sprite character like Kyousuke, so the same artwork could be applied, but IMO her mechanics fit his playstyle better.
(Though you'd lose the voice lines of Kyousuke waxing lovesick for Emile's character, which are pretty funny.)
But what would replace the red bean ice cream?
People asked for TRG custom avatars, you got them! Takes quite the experimenting on which characters suit them well, and the rest based on their choice characters would be handed to the modder to give us the unique sprite. Voila, the TRG crew is now literally in the chaotic board game!

Tim's Yoshi Egg is the most Adorable thing I have ever seen. It made me So Happy! The whole mod pack in general is full of subtle little details like that!

The amount of bombs Starbo's Hyper places is dependent on map size (3 on small maps, 5 on large ones), and they always bring whoever triggers them (Except Starbo) to 1HP.
Yes this means that being at 1HP already makes you an excellent minesweeper if your luck is good (bad)
Slight addendum to that: That mechanic also works on other people who play her hyper as well since they'll be able to see the bombs placed, and can safely trigger/disarm them if needed.

I'm loving this series. You all sound like you're having an absolute blast playing this game.
13:00 - I am definitely one of those fans, but I can also watch this as this game is next to impossible to learn on the faster speeds. Some parts of the UI are also placed on parts that you wouldn't expect to look at, like the info tab in the middle right or that the cards last played are listed in the lower right above the fourth player. Heck, even hovering over people to see their stats and their Hyper is not something you'd think to do immediately.
This game gets real intense once you get a group of veterans together all vying for that top spot, and can get downright ruthless at times. But it's super fun!
Edit - to answer Jon's theory at the end of the video there, yes she is. She's part of 200% Mixed Juice alongside the other 'Breaker' character that's in 100% OJ. Yes, I'm leaving it deliberately vague.
Fun fact: Star Breaker is actually a character from "sora", one of the shmup games, she (as well as basically everyone else that's also in 100% OJ) just happens to appear in Mixed Juice. There are original characters to OJ, she's just not one of them

I don't remember what time this was said but Jon explained that they weren't locked in with those characters. He said because the character he's using has two sprites that's what makes it complex.

I'm partial to Sweet Breaker myself since her deal revolves around confusing players by reversing their cards, getting buffed against confused players and generally being able to benefit from cards that other characters can't get much out of.

5:17 From what I remember, the highest level you need to be to be able to get everything from the shop is 100, aside from that, the level is basically kind of like bragging rights so to speak.

28:45 A Boss will always normally show up as soon as someone reaches level 4 1st, though there are a couple cards that can bring out the boss much sooner, in fact there are a couple characters who's playstyles kind of revolve around this.

Since we got a Hidden Block event, did you guys know that there are actually multiple Hidden Blocks active at a time in Mario Party? In MP2, there is always two Hidden Block at play - one containing a Star and the other coins. When a block is found, that particular block type is shuffled to a random Blue Space, while the other one stays in the same place until found. In Mario Party 3, there are 3 blocks at play at all times, with the third block holding a random item.

Into another game already, and with a sick mod to boot, mad props for getting that out so quickly after the first recording session. I'm really digging this game as just something to watch, there's enough going on that I want to pay attention to it but I imagine it's also a good game to just chill out and talk about stuff only for something crazy to happen like the AI going on a warpath to victory or Jon discovering minigames.
Watching you guys play this game is making me want to buy and play this game.

Making the training map the absolute last one in the last actually makes a lot of sense, as long as it's a looping list. It guarantees that the training map is one button press away from the default option, but _also_ separate from the normal maps since you have to scroll in the opposite direction to reach it. Means you can go to either training or normal gameplay with just a single input, and don't have to scroll past the training map every time you want to play a normal game.
Uhhhh....that's not why it's called the training map.
That map comes from the training mode level in Sora, the game that Star Breaker is from. It has no teaching purpose in this game.

@@justwantingtomakepeoplesmile She's not particularly aggressive, just the average amount for hard hitting AI characters. Tomomo and Sora are even more aggressive in my experience. I had a game where Poppo yoinked Sora's stars, and Sora went on a killing spree and got 10 wins in 6 turns.
Kae also really, REALLY likes fighting for someone who usually ends up dying when they pick a fight.

The mods are absolutely priceless and add so much charm, fantastic work!
There sure is a lot of DLC. Spent like $1 just to get the game itself during a sale but overall have spent like $50 on the DLC and getting close to 100 hours of playtime.

It can feel a little slow sometimes for sure BUT better than you not playing it at all
For anyone new to the game:
Frozen panels don't use movement, but you can't control your direction.
Star Breaker's bombs reduces the HP of whoever triggers it (and anyone else on the same panel) to 1. Whoever used the card can see where the bombs are and if they land on it gets rid of the bomb.
Also since Jon kinda glossed over his surprise of Tim using Emile's hyper last time, a bit on them. At the start of the game 8 blank hyper cards are shuffled in to the main deck when someone draws a hyper it becomes their own hyper card. So the only way to have someone else's is through cards/events that swap/use opponent's cards.
I love that AC Fan helped with the custom sprites too.
So wait... if Tim is Suguri... does that make his hyper... Egg-celerator?

I wonder if anyone will take advantage of the free weekly characters... The week they recorded this game it was Nico and Star Breaker. Star Breaker is a popular character for her ability to murder things and cause suffering all across the board with her hyper. And Nico, well... Nico can hold four cards like Aru (and now Chris, too) and HER hyper turns all the cards in her hand, including the Hyper card itself, into random Hypers from ANY CHARACTER. She is a Mega Chaos Lord.
From the looks of it they're just going with their modded characters, so only the AI will be different each time.
Well, for the time being at least. They'll probably want to mix things up eventually.

Honestly, that sounds like a decent idea for an event at TRG Colosseum or something. Then again, maybe the game being online only would be more suited to a normal stream provided next Colosseum is in-person.
Not that it helps past TRG here, But when characters have multi-part Hyper Cards like Star Breaker here, or Yuuki last game, you can right click on the info to swap the cards to read their effects. Case in point, Invisible Bomb is a Trap card that is only visible to the person who played Star Blasting Fuse, when landed on it reduces that player to 1HP, no matter what they had for HP prior. Invisible Bomb cannot kill, but it will leave you very likely to die from anything.
Hearing Emile shout “Ay Chihuahua!” Make me laugh lol

I for one struggle to play on lower speeds, but with y'all's commentary and such I've no issues with these videos! I do hope to see at least one board played on 4 though- just for the fun of it.
