I got the ~900 after seeing your demo and it's been on my board since. It's awesome. Anything from adding just a little grit to a clean tone all the way to screaming, sustaining fuzz sounds. And since it's JFET it can go anywhere in your chain. Win win win. Love it.
Love this! You get a complete idea of what makes each circuit unique. Something about the unapologetically unruly character of the Unpleasant Surprise gets me every time.
With my ~900 into my Benson Germanium Fuzz, I very rarely click on my overdrives anymore. They both do overdrive so well and together I get all the fuzzy distorted goodness I need.
This pedal destroys linear playing. It superbly replicates this effect (timestamped at beginning of John McLaughlin's guitar solo): ua-cam.com/video/5LbMSP0s7Dc/v-deo.html The recording was a chop 'n mix post-production job by Teo Maceo using layers of guitars and obvious panning. Been using it for noise projects since 2017. I have # FU711.
First, how frustrating must it be for UA-cam producers like yourself to have to constantly deal with bots? Bummer. I could use the 900 tomorrow and feel comfortable. The learning curve on the Unpleasant Surprise is a little steeper, but maybe that’s a good thing.

Never imagined a vampire make a joke about going outside, then laugh about it.
The first pedal allowed for articulation and dynamics. The second one, not so much.
EPIC
