Even though he’s your dad whenever you work with someone all the time you’re bound to have your arguments and your differences. I had fights and arguments with my dad on a good few occasions but we sorted things out . My father passed away 14 months ago at the age of 78 and I miss him like mad . Send him a message to tell him you love him even tho he gets on your nerves sometimes and in 20 or 30 years time if he’s no longer here you can look back at that message and you can laugh to yourself and remember all the good times you had working with him . You’re a great team together and you put a lot of smiles on people’s faces and we all love you and kc’s videos . Keep doing what you do best fellas . Take care 👍
Hahahahahaha Been there, bought the T-shirt !!!! I’am 51 this year (1969) and my old man is 75 (1945) and we still have days like this!!!! Joys of working anywhere near you parents !!!!! But I will still miss the humpy old b@llocks when he’s gone ❤️❤️❤️ Great to show the good and bad ‘unedited’ real life 👍👍 You two stay safe and well bro 👍🖖🖖
Love it reminds me of working with my dad owww the fights and the swearing. If people think apprentices have it hard wait till they see father and son working doesn’t matter if your timed served or not. But I go back tomorrow and do it all again with the old man
i do similar jobs with my dad and this is honestly very refreshing its not just me and him lol. Hes old school and will always have a different opinion and love to argue about it regardless if its over something stupid. Well done on showing what these jobs are really like, hard work, a lot of thinking involved in problem solving because no jobs the same and of course all the cleaning of rubble, dust, mixing mortar.
The old fella just wants you to do the best job possible. He won’t be chewing you out forever. You seem to have a great relationship, he’s the jewel in the crown😍👍 Keep up the quality content 🤞
That looked great in the end. I started watching your vids to learn how to brick up a couple of aircon holes in my house and became addicted! From Adelaide, Australia.
Brilliant you pair. All your videos make me laugh. A Q and A video with both of you soon would be good. You pair sitting on a sofa with your "brew" answering the subscribers questions and both just being you👍
😂😂😂top video Stu and what a tricky job! You sure need patience and a good temper to do that properly. You nailed it mate and I bet your dad kept it really tidy below 👍👍👍
That first Lintel was has much good as putting in a Lentil. Great recovery work. Always interesting to watch, how you go on with jobs, no matter how big or small.
Lol, my dad and I have worked together for 32 years Stu, he stil thinks old school and that's where we clash...its not only a business but a family. The toughest part is sacrificing a father son bond for a working relationship.
Oh yeah little spaces. Your specialty Stu. The best videos are when both of you are in it. Lots of pi sounds 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂. I'm laughing my ass of. Good God bless this two hard working men in Jesus's name for days on 🙏🙏🙏.
Oh God , youve got a lot of patience , i always work by myself and find sometimes that i would swear and cuss🤬 at my own stupidity , i couldnt work with anybody let alone my dad , i dont have any patience and have to work accurately and carefully as you do . Great videos i love the banter you two have .
Thanks for making this video, I have a similar job to do and this really helps how to sort it. One question, is the timber screwed to the bricks or the joints ?
Me and my old man threw all sorts at each other back in the day, bricks, hammers, buckets etc. At the end of the day though always have a laugh about it.
Cant be easy having your son as your boss. KC likely swallows alot of pride everyday. Btw, Stu have you ever tried pointing with a grout bag? I recommend. Cheers from Maryland, USA
Just listen to old boy stu min lol. On these window repairs your always better putting some of the sticky blue window protection on the glass a find just in case lol 👍🏻
Hi stu just wanted to say love your videos and if you ever need a start my dad has a company and would probably be more than happy to take you on👍we are based in bolton and company name is NCB we mostly build big affordable housing estates and from time to time build warehouses, apartment blocks ect.
Crikey Moses!! Your dad's deffo got out the wrong side of bed on this one...... grumbling away. He reminds me of myself. I'm a proper sh...thead to work with, everything has got to be my way, even if I know I'm wrong. I think it's a dad thing, struggling to accept your kids are grown up now and you probably don't know best anymore. Just tell him to bog off under your breath and humour him by pretending to agree with him (whilst doing what you want anyway) lol 😎
Hi Stu. I love your videos and am even thinking of doing one of your bricklaying courses once things get back to normal! I don't know anything at all about how houses are built so excuse my ignorance. At the start you said the bad bricks were letting water into the house (?) , where does the water from the saw go?
Brill Stu K.C we all clash with each other when working, myself and my dad are the same as you both when we both work togeather at times you not agree with how to do jobs old and new ways but same outcome lmfho!!!!

Was it the actual job that was annoying you or the unwanted family input?:)....You still done a good job..I'm not in the trade so always interesting to watch your Vids...Cheers mate.
stu crompton it’s a very good idea Stu. You’re quite right, it’s only supporting the triangle and you haven’t got an acrow and strong boy in the way. Do you put a fixing in every brick?
Yes but try and get a apprenticeship, when I was in college I worked with my dad 4 days a week. I learnt so much more actually being on site than in college.
It was holding the bricks up above where they took the lintel out . The long piece of wood was screwed into a line of brick to prevent the bricks from moving and collapsing whilst they put the new lintel In place . Bit like an acro
Stu is this an out takes video there weren't half some bleeping 😁😁. Tell kc he'll be on a discerplinary if he carries on😂😂. Not heard of any murders so you must be ok now. Does he need a cuddle 😀😁😁

Great video! Can you please elaborate on that horizontal piece of wood, both its purpose & how it's installed?

Knew this was coming. 😂
I work with my brother and dad so I feel your pain lol
Stu...why dont you use an SDS plugging chisel? So easy getting bricks out.
The milwaukee is a nice piece of kit.
It is bodge, my go to saw now

The start sounds.like my boss tidying.up when more mess.is.going.to happen hahah.
Was the lintel too high? What exactly did you fix apart from replacing the bricks, was it that it couldn't drain properly because of all the debris?
Did you put a new angle steel in?
My dad is a real cowboy at the job:)
How long does the battery last on that Stihl saw you've got
Love it man
What do u do with the holes after u remove the timber ? Since u fix it directly into face of a brick
What was the timber for?
Oh the steel lintel was 1 course over the window when it should've been right above it?
Ha ha me and my dad were the same , you miss then when they’ve gone though ! What’s that wood for Stu ? I’m missing something here , Mike from 40 degree Spain mainly laying small kerb stones 🥵🥵
I was wondering the same, is it for support?
I’m guessing to prevent/help the course above from dropping...
Perfect job.👍👏😉

What is lintel? For what purpose it is using?
Gotta love em Stu. Lol

Great funny video. Two questions though. How long do you leave the timber in place and what do you do about the holes in the bricks?
The next day we took it off John

They're so stuck in their ways mate, " why you doing that?" And he just loves sweeping up before the jobs done, it's frighteningly similar! Lol
How much does something like this cost to hire someone for versus how much it would cost me in materials if I do it myself? Price range?
I’ve just left school and thinking about doing bricklaying at college but not sure yet, would you recommend it?
Yes but try and get a apprenticeship, when I was in college I worked with my dad 4 days a week. I learnt so much more actually being on site than in college.

Why no support needed to make sure no movement in the house
what's going on with the lintel there??

What was that bit of wood actually doing?
That was a serious question what is it doing aha
