Love watching, and doing these kind of jobs, lads......in fact I probably get more pleasure in the finished product of a repair job like this than I do from new build stuff. But that's probably just me being a saddo! 😂 Brilliant tip on using the acrow and upside down strongboy as a mid wall support.....genius!
Super tip that indeed on the to get a better grip would be better with a strong boy plate in as to the acro prop just catching the front. Strong boy below sill 😜😜😜😜😜👍🏻

I’ve never seen any water come out of weep holes in all my years of laying , what water is in a tray must evaporate not run out of a weep hole ! Good work again 👍

Bricklaying With Steve and Alex . Obviously difficult on your own but if ever you get another job like that and you’re with alex maybe think about getting a winch like Mark hep has got 👍
Great job , it would have been useful if you showed how you installed the new tray ?! How did you connect it with the old one and sealed it ?! What seal did you use ?! Because this would be the weakest point later , thanks
Wael EL Shennawy Thanks . I did explain in the video that the new tray tucks under the old then I showed it sealed . I used silicone as it sticks well and is flexible 🧱👍🏽
Bricklaying With Steve and Alex Thanks Steve for your explanation however this won’t work as the seal won’t bond and there is no way to have a weld to seal the lip overlapping. The old lip is worn and the new is soft and won’t hold itself upright by the seal for long eventually it will drop under its own weight and the cavity tray won’t fit for purpose and lose its functionality. The tray to work as you know is installed from one piece not sealed between higher course of blocks inside to lower course of bricks outside so the water drops towards the vents and to outside. I understand why you don’t use Cavity E type as I myself won’t accept them as a solution as the gap between them MUST be filled /sealed and it is impossible. What I suggest is a thin tin galvanised strip , very thin and it is formed the sharpe of Cavity E types, but ONE PIECE so there are no connections and install it under the 20mm lip from the old tray. What do you think ?!
Not bored of lintel jobs at all. Bread and butter work for the self employed. Just out of interest, if you had built that house would you have stack bonded between the windows or alternated whole brick and two halves?

Great video mate. nice touch with the acros, you would have to have them quite tight to start with so you can get a turn on the aero i suppose. How much do you charge for something like this
Just been told i need lintels replaced on half my windows. Not visibly sagging. Any idea how long I can wait before it becomes a major issue? Also, does this work do any damage to the house internally?
When lintels go they generally rust and expand in turn lifting the brickwork above . Generally you only get sagging If there is no lintel at all . Once the brickwork has stated to lift them water can get in which will speed up the rusting . You could probably leave them long enough to save up for the work .
