038 Tristan the Gorgosaurus | The Story of Creating Tristan the Gorgosaurus

Hi, everyone. Let’s get to know dinosaurs with ZHAO Chuang. In today’s video, he will talk about Tristan the Gorgosaurus.
In 1913, the first Gorgosaurus fossil was found in Canada, and that was the first time Gorgosaurus met humans. This fossil is so well-preserved that it even contains complete forelimbs, marking the first discovery of forelimbs of dinosaurs from the family Tyrannosauridae. Gorgosaurus was a tyrannosaurid dinosaur with a body size of about nine meters long, which was relatively large among this group. But it was much inferior to the later Tyrannosaurus rex; the latter was more stout. Gorgosaurus appeared earlier than late tyrannosaurs in a period much closer to when Albertosaurus and Daspletosaurus lived. It also looked similar to Daspletosaurus and Albertosaurus, especially Albertasaurus. As a whole, its body was somewhat slender, with its two hind legs exceptionally long, indicating that this dinosaur could run extremely fast. Check the video to find more.
