It's ironic isn't it? The fact you guys will sit here and defend games Like Arkham Knight, Cyberpunk and No Mans Sky yet get confused when we get games like this.

You know how to avoid a major bug when your game launches? Send out review codes so reviewers will encounter the bug before the general population. Crazy how that works right
6 months maybe full studio. Then they'll put a skeleton crew to finish out the road map of free stuff they announced. The skeleton crew will finish that and probably make a few patches after. All in all maybe 1 year 3 months worth of content updates and patches. Then they'll fully abandon the project and shut servers down probably 6 months after that. That's my guess.
Current Rocksteady is now pretty much in the same state as Current Bioware. All the good people left, and now we are left with a shell with good memories.
More directed at the greedy and sometimes criminal publishers.. WB not giving codes to IGN especially gives me some " you didn't pay off the cops!?" Vibes
Aside from the Live service bullshit and... Other scummy things... I think the biggest mistake they made was setting the game in the Arkham Universe at all. If this was just a DC game in a seperate universe where you just happen to have to kill the Justice League without all the baggage and lore from the Arkham Games it could have been fun if it was just 'a Batman' since you can just make a new universe for the next project where he's alive and no one cares if he kills people or dies. But since it's Arkham Batman SPECIFICALLY, the way he was handled just leaves a bad taste in your mouth... And that's without mentioning Kevin Conroy. He did some great stuff for this. You can tell he had fun playing an evil Batman, but his passing making 'this' his last performance as Batman... Is awkward for everyone involved to say the least.
The worst part of this whole debacle is that from what I can gather Suicide Squad is in the same universe as the Arkham Trilogy. Not to turn this into a powerscaling debate but to think that the SS, which is essentially 4 people with guns and moderate mobility options, were not only able to defeat f--king ARKHAM BATMAN but the entire Justice League? Again with just guns and some mobility options? SS has retroactively ruined the narrative of the Arkham Trilogy. I can't f--king believe this. (que up violin for 1st world problems)
The Suicide Squad could even fit in the Arkham-verse canon if they were fighting lower tier characters. You know, like the entire point of them being a black ops team.
I work in IT Ops, server support and disaster recovery specifically. Their servers should have already gone through their golive process and are probably sitting there, loadbalanced and ready to go. The should just be waiting on traffic. We are talking about the flip of a switch here, anyways, even if they're not ready. There is absolutely no reality in which the servers aren't ready for the majority but ARE ready for early access players - if that is somehow the case, I'd be deeply concerned about their ability to run an online service, period. This would be cutting it very close. My two cents, maybe other techs have different experiences?
Its definitely true. Devs and Ops need time to ensure everything is working as expected. I guess it depends on how these servers are hosted too. But either way, it's for sure just a switch at this late stage.
I can't wait for this game to come out, I'm really looking forward to it. Suicide Squad is for sure gonna be the newest biggest trainwreck to laugh at for a good while.
WB has ALWAYS been up there with EA, Activision and Ubisoft as worst publishers. But they always managed to slip under the radar. Im glad theyre finally being called out with MK1's horrid microtransactions and servers and the release and reviews of Suicide Squad
One of the things I hated the in the game was the atrocious amount of things the HUD has along with all the sparkles and explosions made me feel like I was gonna have a seizure
Can't wait to hear about WB refusing refunds or something of the like or making refunding this trash fire impossible. It is massively frustrating watching the industry keep pulling this and people still sit there and pay for it.
I think the fact the game's buggy release resulted in the game's story being preemptively done before the player actually enters the story might be a bad omen
Refusing review copies to major outlets should be like when you refuse discovery to a trail , where you can should be able to just give it whatever garbage review you feel like and assume the worst. lol /s
Id have rather had a more focused gameplay style than a looter shooter. Like its a missed opportunity to not get to play as king shark or deadshot in the arkham gameplay loop
Definitely in the era of pump & dump triple A titles. Pump up they hype but don't let them see the actual product, ship a broken, half finished game, collect pre order vash, then let the game die slowly while keeping micro transactions coming. Rinse & repeat. WB does not wanna make good games, they wanna bleed their IPs dry. They just destroyed the reputation of one of the best superhero video game studios by forcing them to make a generic live service game.
I had never seen a game preview be so pessimistic, but it’s not like IGN didn’t give it a fair shake. WB is definitely trying to protect their sales. It’s unfortunate that greed destroyed another talented video game company.
When the Rocksteady devs said: "What are we, some sort of Career Suicide Squad?" and got ordered to develop this game, it was truly one of the moments of all time!
Yong, you need to tidy your collectibles up. You could make a nice looking display out of all of it with some shelving and leds.. Instead of just having it in this strange heap that seems concentrated in the middle.
I remember when bg3 launched on ps5 there was problem with connectivity, larian said turn off your wifi on your ps and your good to go while we fix it.
Ik the game is called kill the justice league but why did the flash have to get pissed on that’s bullshit and with how bad Batman’s death was they mine as well pissed on him to
I hope this doesn’t demotivate IGN from giving negative reviews in the future and give a positive review when they would’ve otherwise given a negative review, just to get the game early.
Polygon's comment on not getting review copies seemed really shady. It effectively worded it that 'We didn't get a review copy so we can't give it a good review', real sleazy as if to say as long as thye get their hands on it first, they will give good reviews. Just shows you can't trust any of these as game journalists give terrible opinions to try keep their early access and afraid to properly criticise something in fear of losing their access.
It's complete throwaway garbage. I've watched some videos of it. While I had very low expectations and expected it to suck, it's 10x worse than I imagined it would be. It's genuinely impressive how bad it is. It makes Anthem and Avengers look amazing in comparison. Both of those are dead now. I look forward to seeing this garbage shut down in a few months. I know it's still early in the year, but this is one of the worst games I've ever seen.
Why do people preorder digital goods? There is no shortage or standing in line. You can buy it at any time - and if not due to server overload, you won't be able to play it anyway. So why do people still buy cats in loot boxes?
@@czaczaczar The thing is I want to support Itsuno and his team directly and buy the game. This tactic has happened many times before and its nearly everytime a sign of a bad game and the company wants to hide any info and suppress reviews. Its always to maximize money and prevent any bad press from coming out. Good companies give games out weeks early cause they know the product is good. Bad companies hide it for as long as possible. I'd respect a company that will share a bad game, then to just supress any reviews
They did Batman dirty. They're pushing a third person looter shooter from a single player action game developer. They did Kevin Conroy dirty. They're pushing Harley Quinn to the spot lite. Hard pass for me.
They didn’t just do Batman dirty, they ruined Arkham Batman and defiled Kevin Conroy’s reputation for their greed. I legitimately hope whoever was in charge of this game’s script got fired, how dare they exploit Kevin Conroy’s memory for nothing.
When IGN doesn't like a game it means one of two things. It's a sonic adventure and sonic unleashed situation where it's a great game and they're talking out their ass or it's actually a shitshow of a game. This is the latter.
The place I write for, we've given some studios some less than stellar scores and we still get review codes from the same studios. Feels real bloody dodgy that WB doesn't want to give codes out because of a bit of negativity. Arguably, a very rare win for IGN standing their ground.
I can only imagine the worried meetings they’ve been having at Rocksteady. I’m not one to enjoy peoples suffering. I only bring this up because the PR for Suicide is horrendous. What a dud of a game!!
The same thing happens in the new car industry, with Car journalists /magazines/website car reviews. if you give a car a bad review or say anything negative about said car, you don't get to drive for a week /review any other cars from that manufacture, they are non existent for you, one does not get invites with paid hotel /flight/car hire ie costs to visit a launch of a new car in a different city.
All companies tend to send the review codes to those they anticipate will give positive scores to the games. That's the way it has always worked, and that's the way it works now. Ask old journalists like Stephanie Sterling.
The Justice League element seems poorly thought out, especially if this is the Arkham-verse. Why not have Hitman-esque levels using lesser known DC characters as villains? That could have been fun.
We all know a game is super trustworthy when they refuse to send early review copies or enforce strict information embargoes so nobody knows what it'll be like unless they buy it. Super trustworthy! 👍
From Suicide Squad being a live service, to WB's refusal to send early review copies, to the rough early access launch, to the middling impressions, it's hard not to have a very bad feeling about this game's future prospects.

Let’s place bets: when will the live service be shut down and abandoned for this game?
6 months
A week
Im betting on the servers being shuttdown in about 2 yeaRs
6 months maybe full studio.

Legit could have erased a lot of backlash by not making it Canon to the Arkhamverse.
They are intentionally not sending review codes to prevent negative reviews
I can't wait for this game to come out, I'm really looking forward to it. Suicide Squad is for sure gonna be the newest biggest trainwreck to laugh at for a good while.

Nope and won’t! Greedy corporations strike again.
Refusing review copies to major outlets should be like when you refuse discovery to a trail , where you can should be able to just give it whatever garbage review you feel like and assume the worst. lol /s
When this game flops and servers get taken down, I expect to see layoffs that render Rocksteady games DEAD!!
>pay 100 dollar to win the game immediately before you even start the damn thing
Seems like a feature more than a bug to me. Take notes EA

Why do people preorder digital goods? There is no shortage or standing in line. You can buy it at any time - and if not due to server overload, you won't be able to play it anyway. So why do people still buy cats in loot boxes?

The same thing happens in the new car industry, with Car journalists /magazines/website car reviews. if you give a car a bad review or say anything negative about said car, you don't get to drive for a week /review any other cars from that manufacture, they are non existent for you, one does not get invites with paid hotel /flight/car hire ie costs to visit a launch of a new car in a different city.
