What a cruise that was Anthony. You certainly missed a wet one there. Saul with his tape measure out made me laugh again but I saw him doing it on the day. He’s so funny. Thank you for trusting me with your boat and also for including me in the vlog. The whole weekend was fantastic and I’m glad you got away for a break cos you deserved it after the year you’ve had. Certainly varying temperatures, from 49 to cold and wet. Your break away looked lovely, so fresh, clean, modern plus ofcourse the wine and food. You do have lots of good friends and supporters, but its because you are the same, helpful, friendly and great people. You cant be fair weather if you are narrowboaters, I dont mind most weather, except wind as it does affect the boat. Lovey vlog as usual, thanks for sharing the break away and cruising xxx
It was a shock to the system coming back home Susan 😂. We had a great time in Bilbao and San Sebastián was a beautiful place to visit too. We are very blessed by all the support we get. I hate the wind too for the same reasons. Hope you have a wonderful week ❤️
When I visited the Guggenheim in Balboa several years ago, I had a coffee and muffin at the cafe. I was fascinated to watch a cheeky little sparrow flying in and having a good feed on a muffin on the tray of muffins on the counter. It must’ve had babies to feed, as it kept coming back. It chose the same muffin every time and it was quite hollowed out. 😆

May a couple of Aussies make a respectful suggestion … when the sun is beating down and the temperature is off the charts … worth wearing a cap or better yet a hat. Hello Paul and Anthony, I love the trail at the start of this week’s Vlog. What nice presents you got from the lovely couple. Glad you got your filter OK. Anthony is the best at reversing the Cut. Did you miss a turning? Your holiday in Spain looked brilliant. When I used to fly early, I too would have an early drink (Because I was on holiday too). Once again Anthony shows us his excellent cooking skills. Paul is so lucky having Anthony. I bet you were pleased (Paul) having Phil as an excellent crew member (whilst Anthony had to go off to work), Paul and Phil coped with some terrible bad weather. Well done guys. It was a busy week. We loved Spain but it was way too hot on that day. Phil was amazing. We really are blessed with the friends we have. They looked like drowned rats. We usually take the covers down as some bridges can be too low. Have a great weekend ❤️

JELLY BELLY BEANS ARE AWESOME,I’ve got 2 jars full of of them,classic American flavours,ice cream flavours and some of the Harry Potter butterbeer sweets( made by jelly belly) if you ever get the chance to try some hi chew sweets from Japan,they really are fantastic,almost as awesome as jelly belly beans 😃😃😃
My absolute favourite Shane. Has to be Jelly Belly ones as some cheaper ones are just sugary without the flavour. Will look out for hi chews. Never heard of them. Hope you have a great weekend ❤️

Greetings from the States. I love watching your adventures. Would you consider including maps when you talk about locations? It would be kinda cool to help orient to where you are, and how getting back and forth to the car works. I can't quite get my head around that part of your travels.

Great vlog as usual. One part of the canal we have not walked, is the part from Adlington to the bridge with the lights, at Red Rock. Not a big air filter for the genny, but suppose it does the job.

OMG. 49 C. That's danger territory! And hotter than it gets in either Sydney or Melbourne (or Canberra where I live). But there are places in Australia that get that hot. Scary scenario for the future.
It was way too hot Hannah. It is a scary thought. We loved both Sydney and Melbourne when we visited years ago, never been to Canberra.

I just saw a documentary on the artist who displayed the scary children paintings you showed at the gallery, his art is very collectable though not my style. Looks like you had a lovely vacation in Spain, beautiful scenery and weather.

We’re getting drenched right now and it looks like it’s going to rain right through till Monday with flash flood warnings in some areas, fortunately not for us. Not much else this week, the kids went back to school so I had lots of time to read and work at some crafts.
My daughter and son in law have birthdays very close together and I always made them deathly chocolate cheesecakes with various accompaniments but they had to go gluten free and she is dairy free so I stopped. This year I did some research and managed to make the crust from gluten free Oreo cookies mashed up then found some dairy free cream cheese so I made a deadly chocolate with peanut butter and topped it with peanut butter cups and drizzled caramel sauce over it. It turned out well and is disgustingly chocolatey enough to satisfy their cravings.
I don’t care for chocolate cheesecake so will make a smaller raspberry one with just a little grated chocolate on top, much more to my taste.

We had a fab break Isobel. Phil was amazing. I stay in the carpark where I work. The guy who owns the building kindly lets me stay there. I use the gym and then shower there too. We do have to be cautious but we always hug when either of us leaves. I can’t believe how wet they got. 😮. Have a great weekend ❤️

Looks like you had a lovely time in Spain, though pretty darn hot! Did you have any issues there as a tourist? I've heard stories of anti tourist protests, but maybe those have been in the bigger cities of Barcelona and Madrid. I've even heard of tourists being attacked. Can't for the life of me understand that. Anyway, you must not have had any problems and I'm glad. Take care!
Hey Debba. We had a great time thank you. It was way too hot on that day, it makes you exhausted. We didn’t have any trouble but I have heard the about the protests. Don’t get it to be honest when their economy is heavily based on tourism.

The emergency services were describing the event as unprecedented with dire warnings . It is not cold however .The next step up from me has forecasts of cyclonic conditions until November. Cyclones are not normal in the South .
Here in Oregon USA we are suffering temperatures over 100°F for the last couple of days. Last week, a small plane crashed about a football field away from our back yard. The first responders and electrical line repair folks had to fight fires and restore power in that heat! I almost envy your UK summer.
