- The Nickelodeon Kid's Choice Awards is an award show on Nickelodeon where kids choose the winners. Who would have GUESSED! I distinctly remember the 2008 show when Jack Black hosted, but there are so many other interesting moments to talk about as well. The show has been on since the '80s, after all. I love that jack black is so excited to be there, he fully commits to it. It’s so nice to see people put their heart and soul into something that’s for kids. I’m sure that the iconic blimp might not feel as cool as an Oscar, or a Grammy to some celebrities. They may also not even want to be there. But to the kids it’s exciting it’s fun THEY got to vote for something and have their voice be heard for once. So yah I thinks it’s pretty cool

I actually never watched this award show because my mom said Nickelodeon shows were a bad influence, were for older kids, and would make me stupid. It's interesting to see what other people were enjoying.
P.s. Nickelodeon was prohibited but not Telenovelas for some reason.

Same. I wasn't allowed to watch teen sitcoms because my mom didn't like the way the characters acted and generally thought they were a bad influence. I was such a good kid I would refuse to watch them even when my mom wasn't around.
@@isabellaisnofella I feel you! My mom banned us from watching SpongeBob after my brother saw a few episodes and started calling my mom a loser. That was an instant nope for her. And I never tried to watch it since she told us not to. You and I were good kids lmao. I remember I wouldn't even eat the candy teachers would give as a reward until I went home and asked my mom for permission lol.
I remember my dad not wanting me to watch Ren & Stimpy and Invader Zim although I could watch Nickelodeon I would still sneak and watch them sometimes though.
My mom just overwhelmed me with so many extracurriculars I never got time to watch any kids content on TV.
I was kinda hoping we'd get a Cramers' Choice Awards with Scott and his family getting slimed, maybe next year?

This show always fell on my birthday and kids would turn down my bday invites to watch it instead. the KCAs set me down my villain arc and it haunts me to this day.

Because just like Spongebob, it's pretty static in it's popularity. Generations of kids are being introduced to the series, which is probably why it's still on there.

Remember, if something is Kids Choice Awards nominated, it automatically means it's one of the most important and Chaddest things of its year. And the winners are THE most important and Chaddest. About the bit at 15:31 about two artists being nominated for the same award twice, I think we all remember when Three Times One Minus One had two different subs nominated for the same award at the Homage Awards, and one of them won. That was a beautiful moment.

The 2008 Kids Choice Awards was one of those events where I knew exactly where I was at the time when it happened which was on my couch at 7pm sharp, seated and ready for a show that would rock my 8 year old self to my core

I echo the statements about Jack Black, he fully commits to it and acts lke he is a fun character for the kids in the audience and the adults to enjoy, plus him having a slimefight with the late Robin Williams.
