I think honestly that one of the most mind shocking moments was when you went behind the Cylinder. I mean for starters, empty wasteland, large clouds of dust, Mathematician. But to me, looking back I realize just how truly terrifying the wreckage of the Cylinder leaves in its wake. Nothing. Literally, not even the footprints of the life that once lived there. It doesn't just destroy, it erases the history of anything and everything it comes across. And that's absolutely horrifying to me, knowing that any trace of life is left forgotten forever. Or maybe I'm just thinking too deep into it.
Btw, the Mathematician isn't the only native life behind the Cylinder (being a servant of it.) Stay in the wasteland (what the Cylinder steamrolled) too long in Chapter 2+, & a Liberator comes to kick you out. Makes me think that the servants in the actual world are the 0.01% of all the servants & the rest lies behind the Cylinder.
Such an amazing and unique story. And the Cylinder itself, a strange being who believes it is individuality which causes evil. So it seeks to end all evil by becoming all, but the cylinder itself is evil and twisted. I see, sometimes it's not the chosen one, but the chosen many. Truly a unique story on a world truly alien. Still though, there is one remaining question. What created the cylinder?
@@superawesomet-rex4765 actually the servants were just parts of people that it absorbed. Probably because the last world (earth) it mowed down put up a big fight.
I think it is something very primordial, something that was not so much 'created' or 'made' but something that just 'came into existence'. Something born from cold, ruthless, and inflexible order, from the universe itself. And I am not implying a god, more a fundamental part of the universe that may have taken a life of its own. I don't think our kind of intelligence is capable of comprehending what exactly brought it into being.
This game did cosmic horror in such a good way... The cylinder is malicious and alien in its intent to swallow everything in its path and it creates horrific monstrosities to assist with its goal of making everything eternal. It feels like a dark deity of sorts
I want a sandbox mode because this world Is so beautiful, it's sad because the cylinder destroyed so much of this amazing world, congrats Ace Team for making such a great game.

The credits absolutely hit me. The song perfectly suits the tragedy of the Trebhum and the Trewhaala, as we see how they came together, and then fall apart at the cylinder's arrival. Right in the feels, this game.
This was EXCELLENT storytelling. It really tugged at your heartstrings, the villain had motivations that made sense and held together, and it really was a triumphant and touching ending!

Theory: The Narrator is the Mathematician who in his own way was guiding them, and he regained himself again enough to destroy the cylinder, with the fragments of himself which aren't absorbed. This whole time he was trying to help them find a way to destroy himself.
You have to give true respect to the Trebhum. They've suffered, they changed, they hurt, fought, survived and witnessed monstrosity after monstrosity alien to their world... And they're all babies. the end of the game was showing us the beginning it was giving us lore the towers used to be great but got weaker... but in the end the cylinder was split into two and stopped its terrorisation
So the narrator is the part of the cylinder that is trying to fight against it. That is a cool idea. Also I would love for this game to have either an endless mode(where you go through these four places on look with the cylinder following) or a sandbox mode that basically takes place after the campaign where the cylinder is destroyed and you can just go around and live in the world and see how long you can survive(similar to hardcore mode in minecraft, but you can reload saves). This game is just very good and everything (except for that scary freaking bone creature) should have a happy life and ending. I just love how this game is.
Mankind was exterminated by the Cylinder, assimilated and absorbed during its attack on Earth, but we were able to claim a final bit of justice for our own deaths.
Ok so my theory is that before the cylinder was at the trebum world it sweeped over earth and absorbed the humans, and potentially making a few into servants possibly due to the resemblance and final scene. I believe the narrator to some degree is the mathematician, and if not that maybe somehow during the final fight something triggered in its mind that made it aware of the wrong happening around it. I have no idea why there’s human playground equipment around though.
It seems that the mathematician may have took part in the creation of the Cylinder. Then it went out of control enslaving and absorbing those who created it. Since he was linked with it somehow and still allowed to interact with the outside world he planted his memories into the trebum in an attempt to guide them into freeing himself long enough to damage the cylinder.

Humans, being the dominant and most sentient species on it, were useful data, and it incorporated both their for and their inventions into its servants. The cylinder is an eldritch horror. idk where this cylinder came from but all we can say for sure judging by the actions of the mathematician at the end is that the cylinder is the only evil, it's mechanical body is only just a cylinder so it creates servants and it acts as parasite to control them to help it achieve this goal for example mathematician's will, but then at the end mathematician gained his free will back and he decided to destroy this thing that used him as a tool
and if i understand correctly the cylinder is some kind of artificial intelligence?
so there must have been an intelligent alien race that created it but maybe the creator lost control over the cylinder and it started all this madness as it destroyed worlds and used parts of beings and structures it consumed to create servants and maybe earth was the planet that got destroyed before the planet that trebhum inhabit and the servants are human like and memories of the cylinder seem to have a lot of human shadows possibly because they were not destroyed that long ago compared to other worlds, maybe when the cylinder invaded eath it's servants resembled the beings from the planet it invaded before earth and if trebhum failed to stop it, then the next servants of the cylinder on the next planet it was gonna invade would resemble trebhum in the appearance not humans
