Glad I bought this one, it is now sold out. It stands out among the other BNSF loco's I have. Very nice.

C= 3 axel per truck, W= wide cab, 44= 4400 horse power. Dash 9 is the series. GE= General Electric. I didn't get the Franken Loco but did get the 2 versions of the NS paint schemes.

Thank you for the review! I’m getting a little tired of just HO scale reviews... lol Mine showed up yesterday, and it was nice to see what it’s going look like. Now I just need enough of a layout to run trains...

Ya, there are a lot more HO products coming out than N scale to do reviews on. I just can't buy all of them to review I am afraid.

I haven't bought a locomotive in years, since I have mine squared away. I've been wanting to change some of my roster though. Are Scale Trains N scale locos a good product? I mean as compared to Kato and Atlas? I haven't kept up with the market, for a long time. So, I'm out of the loop.

They are a very high quality product I feel. Better details than Kato by about 80% and Atlas Master Gold line is pretty good. They run great and have a better DCC and sound than the other two. Kato has to be modified to get DCC to consistently to operate, soldering is recommended to keep it connected to the motor. Sound is basically milling the frame to get a speaker in which reduces the weight and pulling power. Scale Trains designed it to avoid that issue and use ESU Next18 DCC sound system. Works and sounds great.

Agreed. Scaletrains being only 6 or so years old is already (in my opinion) the better manufacturer of the 2. Kato locomotives are nice and smooth performers but they lack critical details that Scaletrains has on their Rivet Counter series. I highly recommend Scaletrains, Atlas and Kato locomotives! Excellent runners for sure! What I absolutely love about Scaletrains N scale cars and locomotives, is the fact that their body mounted coupler boxes are designed to accept a Microtrains 1015 coupler 🤯 in N scale, an MTL 1015 coupler is a MUST! Cannot go wrong with any of those mentioned manufacturers, welcome back to the hobby!
