Basically his explanation was that Ancient Indian Society were more open in their sexuality and were not embarrassed to talk about Sex and other problems like Menstruation. But this changed when we started getting invaded by Mughols and British. British were actually more suppressive towards sexuality as they considered this barbaric. So in a way of "civilizing us", they started destroying any manuscript about sex and erotic arts. Due to this mentality, we feel really embarrassed when we are watching a movie with our family and some adult scene comes up.
