I really enjoy your videos. This one is cool, I'm looking forward to piggy backing a stock ecu. Did you ever get the megasquirt canbus to work? I think I heard you mention this in a past video.

The microsquirt has many default can outputs that can be used for dashboards but inputs are not easy at all unfortunately. MS3 can do a lot but ms2 is much more limited with can inputs

I just found out about these. What are the limitations of the mini?

Mostly Physical IO. You can overcome with either canbus but you are still limited on the number of cylinders it can output

Would this work as a primary ecu? I have a 1986 nissan 300zx and I need a more tune-able ecu.

Yes it would work on that application. But you need to make the wiring harness

@@TurbineResearch what ecu would you recommend for me? On a budget and I just want to be able to tune the engine.

@@NLamki2002 it depends on your level of expertise with wiring. Most stand alone ECUs need to be fully wired into the car. You will also need a wideband sensor so buy the time you buy a wideband controller it can make a cheap ecu the same price as something more featured. Take a look at the maxxecu street with lsu4.2 or if diy autotune has a plug and play that may be a good way to go

@TurbineResearch I have no experience with wiring but I'm good with tech so I'm willing to learn. And I don't mind the time as it's a long term project and I still need to buy coilovers, new interior, etc.
Anyway thanks and I'll take a look

@@NLamki2002 there are lots of good wiring resources available so you should be good with a bit of research
