Oh my gosh this was so simple and fast. I was sure that it'd be a terrible, long and slow job. This was so helpful!!!

Great step by step tutorial. I have 2 Subarus (12' & 16") and do a drain and fill of the CVT every 40K miles. Hope I never need to do this but feel confident I could with your great instructions. Thank you.

@@mrgoodwrench6969 Thanks! I did a 2015 Forester and the valve body was on top. So much easier! But hopefully you won't need one for either of yours. Keep up the maintenance 👍

Thanks for the video. Is this for the 2.5L or the 3.6L? Thanks

Hi , if you don't mind me asking where are you located and how much the labor cost?

How do I know if I need a new valve body or a complete tranny? When my vehicle was plugged into Subarus fancy computer I had zero codes show but when driving the tranny was slipping and all over the place. Full throttle 2500 rpm’s 20mph….even Subaru didn’t understand

@@chadcarter1841 There are two big issues with these first Gen CVT transmissions. The solenoids in the valve body fail and are not individually replaceable. You will get codes and the whole body needs to be replaced. The other issue is a failed torque converter. You may not see a code and it can prevent the transmission from building enough fluid pressure. This can be checked with an inline pressure gauge. If it's at the dealer they will have the tools to verify if the torque converter is good or not. Hopefully that helps 👍
