Error on old BRP Service manuals 75w-90 for front diff on either visco or smart lok
75w-140 for the rear

Slightly confused.
Just hit 50 hours on the 2020 Maverick X3 XRS Turbo RR with Smart-lok front diff.
Did engine oil already and now to the difs.
The book calls for 75-90 front 75-140 rear. BRP confirmed 75-90 for front when I called . Checked with the dealer and also, 75-90.
Looking on the forums and all over the place with both viscosities being suggested for the front differential.
This the third video I watch saying 140 for front with Smart-lok.
My heads about to explode.

Ive heard the same.. ive since kept 75 90 on the front diff... And should make a note in the description.. the early service manuals i guess where misprints. Sorry for the confusion

When to do the first oil change, front and rear dif fluids?
First oil change is supposed to be 500miles.. 1k to 2k after that depending on ur riding style.. Diffs i am personally doing them every 1k.. oil is cheap.

I dont currently.. i recommend the rokblokz or mudbusters for the mud flaps.. and the rockknockers for the rear trailing arms

How many miles u got on ur x3max bro ?
Mine came from the factory over filled. It kept puking out fluid via the vent tube. Really annoying, since the tube vents into the frame.. so now the frame leaked forever.

Yes you are correct, there were some service manual mis prints when the smart lok came out. and confusion on the forums from the print outs.
now show us the grease your hubs..... and hurry up as i have to do them now...lol

No 75-90 for front. The old service manuals were misprints
I took out 17 ounces // 500ml out of my front diff. Should I only put 14 ounces // 400ml back in since it’s stamped on front diff?
Either works. It's not going to make much difference
@@GLifeUTVthanks for quick response. Yeah it’s definitely 400ml-14 ounces like it’s stamped. Put 500ml in and about 100ml came out the side of fill plug. Cheers bro

A quick search looks like some are running 90 and other 140. I would say go with ur service manual but mine says 140🤔

How do you check front differential oil level
Vehicle on level ground. It should be level with fill plug
