    Keep all receipts and record each maintenance job done in a little note book for extended warranty to have as proof. Dealers cry because they want to charge as ass load of money to do simple work.

      I love Amsoil in my 4 vehicles and a couple family members. I send samples in for analysis at independent labs from time to time and they always come back with excellent results.
      With that being said, the oil they have is the 0w40. I was disappointed that they didn't have the 10w50.
      For my other vehicles it's pretty much the best oil you can get. If I were to use something else it would be Mobil 1. BobIsTheOilGuy is a site I learned a lot about oils at. Project Farm here on UA-cam has some really great tests going too.

I can't justify paying the asking prices for these and having to do so much maintenance on these things. It's makes 0 sense to me. An oil change shouldnt be such a pain in the ass. Thanks BRP you screwed your customers again by engineering a complete nightmare to service. Just got a 2024 Can am and its the worst machine I have owned out of all the sxs's Ive had. Polaris was leaps and bounds easier to change the oil. The winner was the Kawi, changing the oil was so accessible and easy it was done in literally 8 minutes. FU Can Am! never again.

    At 500 the oil isnt even close to being burnt up are these recommendations just super safe to extend engine life or what?? Pretty lame the oil filter doesnt come with a 0 ring I found a copper crush washer at O ireland not a fan of the aluminium ones.

    • @GLifeUTV
      @GLifeUTV  3 роки тому +1

      I would somewhat agree and have been recommending 1000 miles per brp.. dealers have recommended 500miles im sure as a precautionary measure. Its not about if the oil is burnt up but if there is a metal particles from intial engine break in, that u may want to drain out.. On machines that gets somewhat abused. Its a piece of mind for many owners to give the engine this first service early.. In short I would say is oil is cheap.👍

    Great video. You hit on everything for first oil change and general maintenance. A couple life hacks. I use a form-a-funnel for oil changes in my x3. No mess, I mold it like a ramp from plugs and let it drain to the side of car. Not a single drop of oil on my skid plate. Also get some pj1 contact cleaner. It’s like brake clean but not harsh on plastics, electrical or engine components. It’s awesome for degreasing and no water needed.

    I like how people think they are helping the environment because they are using biodegradable degreasers.
    Just because what you use to clean off oil and grease is environmentally friendly it doesn’t make the oil and grease non hazardous.
    It’s still a good video I just think it’s important that people aren’t lead to believe that it’s okay to wash all the hazardous substances they want down the storm drain because a company claims their product is biodegradable.

      Brp builds their engines with tighter tolerances compared to what engines use to be. For example gm LS family engines would normally run 5w30 oil. With the introduction of the LT motor family in the new trucks. They switch to a thinner 0w-20 oil because all of the bearing tolerances were tighter. The oil required is do to the design.
