Great comment..going to Ryan and the Cardinals in Detroit July 29th n my only sadness is that Neal won't be there...but I think we'll feel his spirit :-)
This was the moment I was first introduced to Ryan. I was drunk and high and half passed out with an eye open. Saw some pretty clean-cut looking guy in suit. Watched the song, and afterwards, I'm like "am I that messed up, or was that guy REALLY good?" Within a week or two he became my favorite musician.
dont know if anyone cares but if you guys are bored like me during the covid times then you can stream pretty much all the new movies and series on instaflixxer. I've been streaming with my girlfriend for the last couple of days xD
I remember watching this live the night it aired, while I was crashing on a co-workers couch in the doldrums of my mid-20s, stuck in and out of love with many women. I was instantly a fan and have been ever since.
Nothing against The Shining but Ryan with The Cardinals was on a different level. There was this special bond when they were on stage. Something magical.
Aboslutely amazing!!! Too bad he's on an indefinite break from music. He'll be back because all true artists need art to survive. He's a true artist!!!
Thanks for sharing this. Through good times and bad and over many years Ryan has put out consistently well-written songs in a truly heartfelt manner. It is such a shame that along with those of us who enjoy his work there are morons who feel compelled to foul the comments section with their trash.
If you take me back Back to your place I'll try not to bother you I promise Cause it's cold in here And I wish it was hot The sink's broke, it's leaking from the faucet I'm fractured from the fall And I wanna go home But it takes two when it used to take one It takes two when it used to take only one Well, my money's no good When I'm up to no good No good ever comes from it, honest I got a really good heart I just can't catch a break If I could I'd treat you like you wanted me to I promise But I'm fractured from the fall And I wanna go home I'm fractured from the fall And I wanna go home But it takes two when it used to take one It takes two when it used to take one It takes two when it used to take one It takes two when it used to take only one
@BluesYourAss Couldn't agree more! Jackson Browne is the unsung hero of songwriting over the past 30 years, such a talent. Great Performance of this song, perfect
Listen to Neal's harmonies behind Ryan through this song. It really did take two - RIP Neal you will always be one of my most favorite musicians.

Nothing better than listening to a singer/group that sounds better live than on the recording. Ryan has so much talent and passion.

I remember watching this live the night it aired, while I was crashing on a co-workers couch in the doldrums of my mid-20s, stuck in and out of love with many women. I was instantly a fan and have been ever since.
I just love his music. He's such a talented poet, too.
His songs just really match one's feelings, don't they?
Wow, a steel guitar, nice to see that instrument getting some love outside of country music
One of the best songwriters alive right now. And his live renditions are top notch.

Great version. Ryan is perhaps my favorite singer-songwriter of the last ten years. I love his work with the Cardinals especially.
He is amazing and just keeps getting more amazing with each new song!
This is deep soul, people, from a complicated, self-examined man. He's poet in the purest sense of the word, plus, his band rocks.

Saw him in Dublin two days ago, the guys a genius.
Ryan is one of the best songwriter today, especially during the last 2-3 years.

If you take me back
Back to your place
I'll try not to bother you I promise
Cause it's cold in here
And I wish it was hot
The sink's broke, it's leaking from the faucet
I'm fractured from the fall
And I wanna go home
But it takes two when it used to take one
It takes two when it used to take only one
Well, my money's no good
When I'm up to no good
No good ever comes from it, honest
I got a really good heart
I just can't catch a break
If I could I'd treat you like you wanted me to I promise
But I'm fractured from the fall
And I wanna go home
I'm fractured from the fall
And I wanna go home
But it takes two when it used to take one
It takes two when it used to take one
It takes two when it used to take one
It takes two when it used to take only one
