Its interesting to me that Aromatic, Oceanic, and Gourmand are not considered their own sections of the fragrance wheel
how are you not more popular on UA-cam... beats me🤷♀️❤
Aw thank u
@@SokiLondonwhat perfume did you say at 10:48? Thank you.
You are sooooo sweet, I think of cotton candy every time I watch your videos, sweet and colourful and fluffy, all in a good way 🤗🤗
This is one of the best explanations I've ever seen about the differences between the categories- I've always wanted to learn this and want to learn more! - also what does creamy mean? And can you do a video on what certain notes smell like - Heliotrope, Tonka vs vanilla, aldehydes etc
Thank you Soki! This helps me out a ton. I only shop from home for perfume because there are no big malls in my town so it's always blind buys. Thank you for breaking this down in an easy way to remember, love all your perfume videos!
Im new to your channel and I've gone through 5 videos in one sitting!! Love how you articulate these scents. Very informative!
This is a very helpful video. I've been wondering about layering with some scents to improve a miscalculation in a certain perfume purchase. Too sharp of a scent from one cologne and trying to temper it with another. Thanks for all your videos! Love your explanations.
I’m really new to the perfume world but I think oriental fragrances are my fave 😊
Ooh, I love soft oriental, oriental, fruity, chypre, and every type of floral is lovely to me. I love feminine woodsy notes in fragrances too, but not sure if I qualify for liking that scent category.
Good breakdown of the fragrance wheel, loved this👌
Fruity floral is my go-to but I’ve been loving scents like Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet and all of the La Vie Est Belle range! I’m expanding my palette but still tend to stick with youthful and feminine scents (I can’t handle too aquatic, fresh, woody or spicy scents)
Very well presented!
We feel your emotional descriptions along with each olfactive group!
Good job
That was very helpful, especially when blind buying. Thank you
My favorites are the pure floral and citrus categories 🌸💐🍊 That was a really helpful breakdown of fragrance categories, especially for the oriental fragrances, which I'd never heard of as a category before your videos. Thanks and great video, as always!
I love your videos! I found you recently when I was researching Chanel No 5 and got hooked on your videos. I’m a certified Sommelier and smelling wine is very similar to how you describe layers of scents in perfume. You’ve opened a whole new interest for me into perfumes! I’ve purchased some of the perfumes you’ve recommended and can’t thank you enough! Keep up the awesome work! Much love from America 💕
Wow what an amazing message. Thanks so much! It’s lovely to share my passion! Hope you enjoy your new fragrances x
Very nice video! I’m learning a lot about perfum with you! Thanks 😊
Love your videos so much. Short descriptions with all the important notes explained in a jiffy yet sooo informative 💜
😎🥰
I love fruity, fresh, tropical scents. Peach is my go to. It may sound weird but the smell of peach makes me feel clean and soft. It even matches my personality.
Thank you for sharing so many good tips about this universe! Love your videos
This is such a great video! I would enjoy any similar videos where you help us beginning fragrance hobbists learn the hows and whys behind our favorite perfumes! I subscribed recently after watching a few videos and finding a scent sister! As you name some of your favorite perfumes, more often than not I'm like "me too, same here"! Love your channel 😍
aw welcome to the channel and thanks for the suggestion :)
Thank you for doing this. My nose likes a lot of scents. I am all over the fragrance wheel, I like Mon Guerlain, MFK Rouge 540, Robert Graham’s Fortitude, Byredo 1996, Parfums de Marley Delina and Jessica Simpson Fancy Love. Sometimes it depends on what my head can take. Some perfume gives me headaches, others go sour on my skin. I just don’t know... today I wore Fendi and noticed it’s sharpness for the first time in the years I’ve owned it.
You should have a million + subscribers. Your videos are so knowledgeable and your voice is very relaxing!
Aww that’s so kind 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Such a helpful video! I could watch your perfume videos all day 😊
🥰
First time to hear about a fragrance wheel. Thanks for the video !
My pleasure!
I’m a more fruity and fresh girl, but Vanilla has brought me to the Floral-Oriental side🥰 tysm for this video, all of your videos really🤩💖🌺
Very informative video. i love it!!
Great vid! Thanks sunny Soki🌞🌹
Ty so much for doing this video!
Love this video! I really love fruity as well!💕
Very enjoyable video👍 I think I like all categories if their done well 😊. But sweet florals are a safe win for me x
I think I would lean toward oriental and florals. Thank you so much for this very interesting and informative video 💕
Where would all the sweet and gourmand perfumes situated?
It depends on what type of sweet. Fruity sweet with fruits then gourmand ones more towards oriental :)
Excellent course ! I think this subject deserves yet another treatment with more up to date examples ! Well done video, though !
This was an excellent explanation of the fragrance families, especially because of the examples you gave. My current signature scent is YSL's Libre EDP. Even though it is categorized as an Aromatic/Fougere because of the lavender, it also has floral notes, citrus notes, and the spice of vanilla. On my skin the notes blend really well. The only problem is I can only spray one or two sprays because it is such a beast.
Thanks dawn!
The queen of explain perfumes ♥️
Great informative video! I love fruity florals..warm as well as bright depending on the season..pear and necterine, some berries as well as sweet citrus..typically with white florals and fresh rose😊
Thank you SO MUCH for this video
Thank you so much for this 😊👏🏾
Such an amazing video ❤️❤️
My prefered area is floral-fruity 😊. Thanks for sharing this information!!
Great explanation ! Thank you very much 🙏
Glad it was helpful!
I loved this video! I think I'm more of a water girl but I love gourmands, fruity, floral and woodsy. I do not like oud or anything too strong and bitter. I think I can find a perfume in each range that I'd love though because I'm such a complex person. I like a little of everything. Lol
This was such a fantastic explanation of the fragrance wheel particularly with examples of perfumes on the market 👏 👍! My mum's mid 70's and used to wear youth dew the bottle took me right back....In my younger days I worked for Alive Promotions & Marketing in Australia on the Oscar de La Renta counter in their David Jones 😀
💜
I like Oriental! I am obsessed right now with a tobacco rose leather scent called Black Stone and a very sweet amber smell. The one that's subtle that I would wear everyday is a green tea scent mixed with spice flavors. It smells like sunshine on skin.
Thanks for this video!
Such a great, informative video. You know your stuff Soki. Thank you for this. Learned so much 😊🙏🏼💕
You're so welcome!
Love your work
Thank you for that break down.
:)
So helpful, thank you!
👍
I LOVE oriental gourmands!
Soki, I absolutely love your videos they are so informative. I love fruity floral and orientals. I struggle with woody and grassy scents. Thanks for the video.
Aw thank u !
People are sleeping on this channel. you always have great, informative content. keep doing what youre doing lady
Thank you !
Thank you so much for this! And it's beautiful watching and listening to you speak. Love from Argentina!
😍
This was excellent information!
Glad it was helpful!
Very helpful. Thank you!
I think my preference is very diverse. But my top fave and kinda like a go-to scent is a combo of fruity or soft floral. But basically I choose notes based on my mood, the weather, the occasion.
I am obsessed with orange blossom! It reminds me of Sicily.
Thank you so much for such an informative video. the moment you gave examples of floral scent ( j’dore and Daisy) I knew I’m a floral gal, those are my fav 2 fragrance and I often use these two as a reference when I explain my fragrance preference to the sales person at fragrance counter. I try to like aromatics scent but I just couldn’t, maybe during a rainy season, aromatics scent would be more bearable for me ?
I’m not a huge fan of oriental scent but I love hypnotic poison , there is just something in the juice draw me into this perfume, I always spray one spray instead of my normal 3 sprays, because it can get quite overpowering
Thank you Soki, so helpful. I think I favor florals and citrus best! ❤️
👍
Thank you so much for sharing 🥰
You look beautiful in these colors Today,Soki! 🌺🌸
Such a interesting video,im All ears to learn!😄 I love flower/fruity..and with pathouli in its Heaven and for Work i Will choose something water/citrus (i Really Love these..so fresh and nice "for Everyone" Oriental..No Thank You,i cant wear Them and i dont like or feel comfortable with the scent, they are def. Sooo good/sexy/warm for others but not on me😅😅
I love fruity musky powdery floral. I like leather scent too like the original Bottega Veneta.
I can smell the notes as you describe them😅 This was so informative!
Aw thank you!
Really helpful. I have and like some of those that you have mentioned. Daisy, panthere...and I have owned youth dew but I agree with you, it was too much👌👌
This is so interesting. Thanks so much! I would love to hear a review on the Bottega Veneta line of fragrances. I just love the original version. 💕💕💕
Will do!
❤️❤️thx
Good and informative video 🤩
Can you make a video explaining in depth the differences between the types of florals, types of fruity notes, etc? They almost all sound good but it would be nice to get some more guidance towards exactly which types of these florals, fruits, overall notes (caramel? vanilla?) work best for which kinds of people/vibes.
I love this video, I loveee soft oriental, oriental, floral oriental and soft flora. I do like fruity and only some citrus.
Aquatic & citrus faves. ❤️
I like the whole wheel!!
am i the only one who loves something from all the categories. my favourite is Alaia Paris tho. best vanilla ever
I love Oriental scents and sometimes florals
I like the Chloe Nomade and I layer it with classic Estee Lauder Beautiful smells divine!
Thanks for sharing!!
I’m an oriental and woody girl…..also dig aromatics! 🥰
I like the thumbnail very much
I think I am gonna enjoy the video as well 👍
Hope you like it!
Please do a video of your favourite almond perfumes
Hey Soki, could you provide examples of men's colognes from the fragrance wheel? Thanks for the great video!
I’m an oriental kind of girl !! 🧕🏼🥰 Maybe the fact that all my life I’ve smelt Oud/Incense/Frankincense type aromas around my mother & our home 🏠 Thank you for this detailed info, this was very helpful ! 😘👋🏽👋🏽
Those are my favorites too. I live in Italy but sometimes i would like to live in one middle eastern country, just to smell those fantastic intense smells... my collection is pretty full of heavy ones 'cause i like to evoke in my mind those beautiful places 👋🏽
Irene Arietti 🥰😘 Hope someday you do have a chance to go & have that wonderful experience in a Middle Eastern country. God Bless, from London 🇬🇧 👋🏽👋🏽
@@begoodtoyourself9591 i have been there many times actually 5 times only in Dubai, and one time in abu dhabi, oman and iran 😃 incredible cities to discover 🥰
Irene Arietti Wow.. !! 👍 you’ve traveled a lot more than me .😅 I’ve only been to Dubai & Saudi Arabia for pilgrimage 🕋 . Hopefully many more trips in the future for me & you !. God Bless & Take care .! 😘👋🏽👋🏽
Thankyou!!
I love fruity parfumes😍😍
Thank you for explaining the scents- I thought I was Woody, but realized Im more Oriental
👍🥰
GREAT!
I hate aromatic, too. I have never liked the smell of lavender. I like everything from soft floral down counter-clockwise to citrus.
im def a soft oriental and woody typa gal! :)
Love this and it gives clear examples, which scents do you look for in your candles?
Aw thanks! I like warm fruity candles
@@SokiLondon Ohh amazing choice! Would you ever do a candle review on your channel?
Would you please review Ellis Brooklyn fragrances? I tried some a sephora today and was totally wowed and it takes a lot for me to like a perfume. I would love to hear your opinion and break down
Please do a video on Delicious addictive fragrances. To me Girl of Now is very addictive. I can’t stop smelling my wrist when I wear it.
That’s an almond one !
Thank you Soki ⚘❤⚘ we love you in the USA ❌⭕❌⭕ God bless you 🙏
🥰🥰
Just catching up with your videos, can you please do an updated one as really interesting. Also what lipstick are you wearing ❤
Coming soon!
@@SokiLondon did you not get the harrods fragrance calendar this year
I like woody, musky, oriental florals with a little sweetness
but I DONT do patchouli
I know of the colour wheel, but this one. Thank you 🙏
What??? Clinique and YSL libre are both aromatic?? I loved the Clinique, never bought it because it wad too strong and then I buy YSL libre and I dont like it.
And La Panthera and Aura mossy?? I am in shock.😃😃🤪
I love gourmand particularly cupcake, marshmallow, whipped cream fragrances followed by fruity and citrus scents. Florals are okay as long as it’s not too powdery. Absolutely cannot stand oud and woods scents 🤣
Hi great video ! How should describe some of the common men’s parfums like creed. sauvage, Chanel bleu, and f*cking fabulous Tomford?
Thank you! How do you categorize all of these to sweet and fresh though
Very nice
What category would you put perfumes with coffee and vanilla notes?
Brilliant video. Really helped alot! Do you know any good marzipan scented fragrances? Trying to find a good one for a gift for someone.
Thank you! Estée Lauder beautiful Belle has marzipan in. Also marzipan is essentially almond so maybe Ellie Saab girl of now x
That's brilliant. Thanks for the advice! I will check them both out. :)
Where would the aldehyde and Chypre perfumes fit in?
Wouldn't the light blue be in the citrus group? I always smell mandarine and lemon, while in the aquatic i would put the Acqua di gioia by GA. Don't you think?
Thank you 😊
👍
Hi Soki, where would you group molecular based perfumes like molecule 01 or another 13?
