Great video so far. I'm using a 12ft utility trailer double axle. I carry a 250 gallon water tank. I live in south GA and it's several other detailers in my area that use the 250 gallon water tank. The vehicles that I detail will vary. Some lice in dirt roads, paved, and even farm. So, for me the 250 gallon tank is perfect. But like you said earlier, having a trailer it's hard to get in smaller areas
Awesome work guys. Both van setups looks great . In the process of launching my own mobile detailing business in NJ and always like drawing inspiration from watching your videos. Keep up the good work!
I have a trailer and I do love and prefer the extra storage without using up an additional family vehicle. Plus auto insurance is more than a trailer. Thanks for the great video.
I detail out of my SQ5. Been doing it 3 years, I do think about getting my own power and water, buildings in my area don’t really allow detailing so I only so residential homes. I put on my website requires access to power and water, I also tell them when they message me. I don’t know if I’ve lost anyone to this but it hasn’t slowed me down. Having my own power and water would be convenient & cut down on time.
Phil. 8 gallon California Air Compressor. Highly recommend. Super, super quiet. It will complement your knew quiet generator that you up graded to in one of Tony's Videos. Its more quite than my Predator 3500 generator
I don't have a tank or gen. I use the client's power and water. Alas however like you said. 99% of my clientele work from home. One budget friendly way I've learned to filter water is use an RV filter on my pressure washer. This alleviates me having to deal with hard water. Plus they are budget friendly. If and when I do make the jump to full time though I will probably upgrade to a tank and gen so that I can expand my client base.
Guys love both design pros& cons! Quick Question as far like vacuum hose being so long how doesn’t it lose suction power ? Or like the little yellow blower does that loose blowing power with such long hose?
Hi! Thanks. I do notice a very minor reduction in suction. But it’s nothing that makes a big difference. Same goes with the blower. It works great on 30ft of hose.
Hey Phil, have you considered a water tank that mounts under the floor and between the frame rails similar to an rv trailer? I don’t know if that’s possible with your frame configuration, just a thought, great video guys 😁👍
I totally thought about that, actually I even thought about a flat box style water tank that’s very low profile. But they are hard to find and expensive also. But that would be cool
Good question. I really don’t have any way of knowing that. I guess you could check the specs on the weight of those and and then estimate how much everything weighs in it.
I got water on board but I can count on one hand how many times I’ve actually used it I have a generator and I always use the generator most of my customers are returning customers And they just tell me to save my water so I do LOL
We don't use any filters, our water seems to be great here. Our house has a whole house filter and it seems to filter stuff out. Its not a softner, just a sediment filter of some sort.
Hi guys great job they're both beautiful setup. I have a question for Tony I see you have your generator behind the front seats by the side door ,does it has a sliding rack like the other one in the trailer ? If not is it safe to run it inside of the vehicle?
Hi. He just recently mounted it on a slider. But before he had it mounted inside and it didn’t have any problems running like that. The exhaust ports out the door so it’s perfect.
thanks guys i am just tired of telling customers i need to use their water and power AND asking for premium prices, i am investing the 760$ for a 100 gallon water tank, 4500watt generator, and the npt male to female brass fittings, i ,already have everything else and i have plenty of room in my van for the water tank and genny. a few months ago i lost a very big customer with a porsche, benz and three other high end cars and i lost it bc he told me his water was hard and he didnt want me to use it for fear of water spots. just one big account like that is enough for me to invest in the tank and genny
Hi. You’re welcome. Wow that’s crazy. Sorry you lost that customer. Hopefully you can get them back. It’s experiences like this that need to be told so others can learn. Many say “it doesn’t matter if you use their water and power” but the truth is that it’s different for every single person and no one can tell YOU what we need to do in that situation. I hope everything goes well man!
@@MirandaDetailing thank you 🙏 all the tips from you guys is much appreciated. I keep seeking “it doesn’t matter”’but it does. It’s not professional. Glad to know I am getting it taken care of only six months in. Just ordered tank, genny, all the fittings etc
@@MirandaDetailing people also said “you don’t need a van” which is totally untrue (not talking about a trailer) and they are working out of a sedan AND using customers electric and power. So your telling me if I have a van that is FULLY self contained and you are using customers water and power and pulling up in a car it’s not as professional? I just don’t see the logic. I have bottle holders on the back of my van and when I’m working I leave the Dutch doors open and I have gotten a ton of business just people coming up to my van and asking to schedule
It’s basically water with lots of minerals depending on the land we n which you live. We used to live up in VT and the water was full of copper and it would stain the sinks and showers green after a while. Some areas have calcium, or iron ore and it messes with the plumbing in homes also. So if one has hard water like that and those minerals dry on the paint, it can cause issues with hard water standing on the paint. Some detailers really have issues with hard water.
Well that's up to you, We have been running this setup for years and works great! Some like to have an electric PW since they already have a larger generator.
@@MirandaDetailing Just checked it and was disappointed I am literally on the way to return that exact hose it's only about 1 inch opening in the center the material is super thin and weak and wouldn't last at all under our cleaning conditions and the connections leak badly all of them and the hose collapse when I I vaccuum because it's very thin the rigid auto detailer hose is to short I just ordered the 16 ft Bosch witch is good for now imo but I want to build out my van I'd like a long hose on a reel and i am doing my homework so I don't regret any purchases bit ya with all do respect your better off using a blue polo vacuum hose for 20 bucks off amazon if that centec is your choice.
That’s very strange. We have been using this 50 foot hose, plus two other 30 foot hoses for a few years now with absolutely no issues. It’s not as you described. Maybe they had a bad batch, because these hoses are awesome.
Hi. Well I’m not really sure becasue we don’t use one at all. Our water here has been fine. I guess something like this would work, amzn.to/3uUzjzE But I would only use it for rinsing and not for the entire washing process. So maybe a smaller dedicated tank in your setup or use it at the end when rinsing if using the customers water.
@@MirandaDetailing what you look linked looks perfect for my application. I do a lot of boats and rvs and I use a lot of optimum so that may save me from carrying around a bunch of 1 gallon bottles of distilled water.
Oh cool! Yeah I used to think the same thing…”do I really need that many products?” Well no…not at first….but the more we worked and faced tons of issues and problems with vehicles, we quickly found that we needed different products for different issues. For basic detailing of one’s own vehicles, few products are needed.

What kind of trailer is that sir
Hi. It’s a 6x10 aluminum frame v-nose. It’s also about 6.3 ft inside so I can stand up in it.
What size is your trailer boss?
Hi. It’s 6x10 and since it’s a v-nose it adds on about 18in extra inches. It’s also about 6’3” inside so I can stand up in it easily.
What Do u use the air compressor for?
Hi. We use the air compressor for blowing out interiors under seats, center consoles, and so on. Plus we use it for blowing out polishing pads.
