If you want to see a side of Aquaman you didn't expect...read the 90's iteration where he only has one hand and his other hand is a harpoon. That was the primary continuity version Aquaman no less. He was angry, vengeful, drank constantly if the option was available, and refused to be an official member of the JLA. Basically, everything unique and badass that Jason Mamoa's version has was taken from the version of Aquaman that we had in the 90's. Mamoa's entire attitude through the whole movie is THAT version of Arthur.
New 52 and Crisis and all of that crap...they basically used it all to give Aquaman back his hand but allow him to keep his more aggressive personality. I mean the original Aquaman was nothing more than a pallet swap Superman (blonde instead of black hair)...they even used Superman's personality for Arthur it was that bad. Late 80's and into the 90's is when they finally gave Aquaman a proper personality with some nuance. He is angry, bitter, but deep down still honorable and hopes for the best despite what his own past has shown him over and over again. Atlantian law and customs are rather brutal when it comes to crime and such, war too. Having a goodie two shoes in this role was completely foolish. I'm rather glad they are keeping the personality moving forward.

Just a quick heads up that Johnny Depp lost a libel case in the UK courts recently where the court concluded that, and I quote, there was "overwhelming evidence" that he repeatedly assaulted Amber Heard physically, emotionally and sexually during the course of their relationship.
I mean, sure, you could believe idle speculation and incel UA-cam, or you could believe the outcome of a high profile court case. It's up to you, just remember that you're a piece of shit if you choose the former.

If you won't listen to factual UA-cam videos going into detail as to why Depp is innocent, listen to the tape that was leaked between the two where Heard LITERALLY ADMITTED THAT SHE assaulted Depp MANY times. Not just that, also the false allegations from Heard against Depp in another recording that lead to the case going legal. Yeah, you won't believe factual evidence, but hey, you can continue to believe the false verdict at the court case without doing research and making up your own conclusions. You better pray that Heard wins the appeal (which she won't), otherwise you just made yourself look like the biggest clown on the Internet.

The problem is he should have been king at this time. She shouldn’t have even known the queen almost at all is the first problem because as soon as she came back she was thrown into the trench. But also in the Aquaman movie he says he’s never been to Atlantis. So if he isn’t King this really fucked up that timeline. But he gets his mothers trident which was broken in the other timeline. But later on we see him in the king Atlan armor. This movie was so full of fuck ups it pissed me off to no end. If they had just stuck with the timelines on all the other movies it would’ve been fine but they had to screw with a few of them just because they’re stupid
I love how in this movie they cant talk underwater without an Air Bubble, but in the Aqua Man movie they can talk fine without an Air bubble.

It would probably be more tonally consistent, but Synder's weakness is not being able to condense his stories, especially his comic book movies. His most solid DC film is Man of Steel, but most likely because he had Christopher Nolan in the producer's chair.
Not really if you watch any of his directors cuts you will know that most of the time it was due to the fact that wb made him cut scenes that were important to the movie. That includes watchmen and bvs. Watch bvs ultimate edition and you will see what im talking about. Samething with justice league only this time they wont let him release his cut since its basically a completely different movie basically. MoS is the only one where he didnt get any studio interference. Thats why that movie is fucking truly one of the best comic book movies ever.
@@Adrian-zp1yb but Man of Steel also wasn't a 3 hour movie. Synder's 300 cut was 3 hours, and his Watchman was 4 hours. You can make a great movie in 2.5 hours. I love his movies and I was onboard for a Synder-led universe, but his ability to storyboard and keep it short is something to be desired.

One thing i never understood is how Steppenwolf was able to move thru the water like that. Only Atlanteans could manipulate water and move at those speeds.
