A real masterpiece from Biedermeier era and one of Strauss' the elder most popular works. I tried to interpret this waltz with no scores as true to the original as possible, even though I have chosen a differetn pitch.

I recognize two melodies from the Grand Pas de Quatre by Pougni...I would think Pougni borrowed them from Strauss the elder...would I be right?
I can't help thinking about how good looking this guy is but he plays better and anyone I've actually heard on UA-cam he really Nails it he's got the touch

Beautifully played. It's a shame Johann Strauss I's waltzes are not as popular as his son's. I entertain a theory, as to why: Johann I contemplated the music within the walls of the courtly ballroom; Johann II's, having learned the fundamentals from his father, still wrote for the courtly ballroom, with a broader audience in mind however.

You have a unique and wonderful way of interpreting music and I thoroughly enjoy it. Have you considered some of the great melody makers which so far are missing, for me, in your repertoire. I cite for example people like Ketelby and Coates. Some of their melodies are well up with the best around!
